Thank-you. After flipping back and forth between backed-up data files , I worked out I am an idiot. Yes, I had removed that rogue team, but in the process, I had also deleted a valid team as well, so I was actually down a team in the division, hence giving me the error....That's four hours of my life I won't be getting back

Instead of editing a club in the FM24 game editor, I accidentally added a club to a comp. I have deleted the club, but when I go to test the rules I get the below error message. https://i.imgur.com/XqNZg34.jpeg I can understand why I got that message as I added a club to the comp, and now I must also reduce the number of dates back to down to 38 as there are 20 teams in the comp. I've been searching for a couple of hours now in various areas, and I just can't work out where I am meant to go to change this. Can anyone throw me a bone and tell me where within the editor I am meant to go to correct this?

Thought.... If I changed the default for England to "Don't allow optional reserve teams", and then I went to each and every club and corrected their individual status to have/have not the various reserve teams, that would achieve my objective, correct?

Thanks for info....Appreciated Pity, I was hoping I could pick & choose which of the sides within England lower tiers have a youth team (or not). Some lower league sides have a full youth set-up while others just have a first team and nothing else.

FM by default gives you a minimum of a First, U21 & U18 side when you create a game. These U18 & U21 teams appear even if the per-game editor advises the team has only a "Firsts" side. Is there something else within the Team area I have to change to make sure these U18 & U21 teams don't appear in the actual game, or is this hard coded?

I'm currently fleshing out my (very) lower league game by adding more staff to the game. I tried the "add the key staff" option, however with all the various backroom staff additions over the past few years (Data Analysis/Loan Managers/Set Piece Coach/Performance Analyst, ect, ect, ect), I found that each club now gets a huge swag of staff which they really don't need, and at wages of £50 a pop for each of these extra staff members, it's crippling the finances of said clubs. I have basically set all attributes of staff to zero to randomise their stats, including CA & PA. The only exception is the job preference of the staff member, where if they are a Physio, I have made that 20. If they are a Chairman, I have made that 20. Coaches get 20 in Head Coach, AM & Coach. All other attributes have been set to zero, and this leads me to my question. This guy is a coach. I have set Head Coach to 20, as well as AM & Coach. All other relevant stats are zero. Now if I go to the Non Player Data, under General, CA & PA are zero, however RCA is three, and his recommended Job role is a Physical Therapist?? I can't change RCA to any other number as it just reverts to 3. The same goes for the Job Role. If I try and select Head Coach, it just reverts back to Physical Therapist. What am I missing here? Also....Is it possible to use the pre-game editor to add coaching licenses for coaching staff? I can't seem to find a section on this in the editor. Any help would be appreciated.

Came looking for an answer to the OP's original question as well...... If you don't hit the space bar in time to pause the match, where in the match screen are these comments (or "widgets") of the AM stored so you can go and read them.

Yup, what NineCloudNine said. I hadn't purchased FM since 2019, and my first two friendlies in FM2024 were 6-4 & 5-3 loss. In the 25 years I have been playing CM/FM I have never conceded 11 goals in two matches, so it was a real back to basics lesson for me. I'm finding the difference between balanced, positive & attacking mentalities is much more pronounced and can be a bit twitchy, plus there is much more going on under the hood these days. Also I strongly suggest you venture to Rashidi's "Bust the Net" you tube channel.
