  1. Agreed. It's a video game at the end of the day. Even the new specs are pretty basic. A £350 steamdeck can run Cyberpunk and red dead 2 etc. So having a laptop that can't run as something as gentle as FM is a personal issue. The line needs to be drawn somewhere and people with low to top end machines shouldn't be punished because bottom end machines cant run it.
  2. Yeh I only play with commentary. 2d sometimes. I most play on Steamdeck now, but unfortunately it doesn't support versions before 2018. I would play FM 11 again in a heartbeat
  3. I am hoping this gives a chance for someone to sweep in a fill that hole if SI move more to the casual/console market. A competitor is desperately needed. Would love for CM to come back and be competent
  4. But they have never done that before? Plus there are things like heights and positions that were incorrect
  5. Someone on here pointed out that all the player profiles we have seen are mock ups. Eg have the wrong positions and heights etc. They are just a mishmash of bits stitched together, so they are filled with inaccuracies and it's why the UI looks so odd. Its not great that they don't even have player profiles fixed yet so close to release
  6. I don't mind the addition of women's football. You are right that the percentage of the player base is miniscule, however it's new female fans they will be after. Which is absolutely fine. For me through, the timing is all wrong. They should have added it last year when there were no real features added, instead of trying to shoehorn it into probably the biggest changes in over a decade. They bit of more than they can chew. If women's football wasn't ready last year (I don't know why not, it's essentially just a database with small tweaks, it shouldn't take too long to create) then they should have added it into FM 26 instead. The weight fiasco was ridiculous too. If they are concerned about blowback about women's weights, then just disable it for the women's profiles. Pretty simple. No need to remove it from the mens too It was also pretty damming that the said weight has no impact on the game. Makes you wonder what other factors have little to no impact on the game
  7. Wow that's pretty awful. Especially when the game releases next month. They should at least have basic profiles ready considering it's been worked on for 2 years
  8. Is this a joke???? Looks awful! Like a brain or something
  9. It's funny you say that. I played CM 01/02 last month. Had a blast but it was definitely missing some quality of life improvements that versions since have introduced. A mix between the two would be amazing FM Touch essentially was that. All the good stuff of FM and the bloat all streamline and behind the scenes. Such a shame they got rid of it for PC. It's quite damming that more and more people are preferring a 23 year old versions more than the current one
  10. My save duration has got shorter with each version. Partly because I am getting older and have less time to game, but also due to the direction FM has gone since FM 11. Back in it's glory days once it found it's feet after branching away from CM, I could easily do 10-20 seasons. I used to love trying to break club and player records with my team. I would sign a striker and see if he could become my clubs all time top scorer. Or see wonderkids retire at my club and then see the next generation through. It was great. Then SI added dynamic league reputation which was brilliant as I could then see if I could build up the standard of the league through dominating Europe with my team. My Icelandic save saw an AI team in my league win the Europa league thanks to me raising the coefficient. That was around 30 seasons. Sadly since around 2018 onwards, my saves have become shorter and shorter. To around 5 seasons max. I find the game has become tedious to play. So many repative things I am just going through the motions with such as player and press interactions. Even things like end of season review. I just spam the space bar to get through it. All the fluff and bloat that was added to increase immersion is so broken and boring that it actually detracts from it. I miss the old versions of FM. I just wish they worked on the Steamdeck which is where I do most my gaming. I think only the newer versions work. Not pre FM 12
  11. It is broken and sadly one of the few neglected core aspects since FM 11 when they decided to go in a different direction and focus on stuff like press conferences and social media etc, instead of focusing on the core gameplay sim
  12. This is unfortunately a side effect of the reputation system. There will be a reputation X CA/PA X form algorithm that determines what players AI bid for. Unfortunately it fails sometimes and where logic in real life would suggest that a bigger club would at least take a punt on your strikers, this doesn't transfer over to the game. This is one of the long standing AI issues that are hopefully addressed with the rebuild for 25
  13. Is it on Steam cloud save? I know it's probably not what you want to hear after the event, but always have multiple rolling saves. I learnt my lesson the hard way in FM 08 when it got corrupted. Each time you save, save to another save. I usually have 3 files on the go and rotate each one each time Any corruption or bugs I can just revert to an earlier save without losing too much progress
  14. I don't mind if FM 25 is a bugged mess like CM4. As long as the improvements are well placed. Eg match engine and AI squad building. And not fluff and stuff no one asked for whilst neglecting the major recurring issues with the game. This is their chance to build the game from the ground up again and if they are leaving things like Internationals out to get the core game as good as possible, then that's fine with me and bugs are expected. I personally will just skip this year and wait for FM 26, but I do expect to see the potential in FM 25
  15. Yeh this is the thing. The game is 95% tactics and transfers. The remaining 5% is mostly fluff or has little effect on the game. Since FM 11 they have focused on the 5% and neglected the 95% It's funny you mention CM 01/02. I played it recently. It's a far superior game but missing some QOL improvements from newer versions
