  1. Jesus christ, trying to read this thread to get an idea of how the M1 Macbook's are running FM21 and instead the thread is clogged with this Smurf bloke taking the thread off-track and desperately trying to get people to buy different laptops.

Every Windows laptop I've had was slow as hell after 2 years or less, I'd rather just pay the extra few hundred and get a laptop that will actually last and perform like new even after years. As would a lot of people, no amount of 'ThIs LaPtOp PeRfOrMs BeTtEr' is really helping

FC United it is. As a United fan this is an interesting club. Wanted to do the Netherlands originally but I couldn't seem to get them to actually promote a team into the second division. Had a . look at England and saw FC United and decided to take it, Club has good support and decent facilities.

Hoping to establish my own version of the Class of 92, the class of 2032 perhaps.

2020-21 Season Review - Scoring For Fun, Conceding For Fun

We hovered around the lower end of the playoffs for most of the year and were largely inconsistent which prevented us from really ever doing much more. We scored the most goals in the league but also shipped 44 goals which for me isn't good enough as I like to be solid defensively. We qualified for the playoffs at least which is an improvement on last season for sure. So how did the playoffs go?

A strong win away from home against Cesena in Round One, our former parent club of former seasons. This was an amazing result and had me wondering if maybe we could actually win this thing despite the 5038383 rounds you have to battle through. Those hopes were dashed when we shipped 5 to Virtus despite actually being the better side. Very frustrating, our defense just aren't good enough at times and are prone to making errors at the worst possible intervals.

Last year I went crazy and spent 300k which for a club who has bad finances was stupid. We recouped some of that back in the end and this season saw no spending and a tidy 325k recouped. You'll see players like Abbatangelo joined for free in the summer and was then sold to Parma in January for 230k as well as Cancello signed for free and sold in January for 60k. I actually ended up loaning Abbatangelo back for the rest of the season as he was a pretty good player. As previously mentioned the clubs finances suck so its possible I have to cash in on a few key players soon purely to keep the club afloat so these aren't the last of the outgoings.

Signing Acquadro on a free was a tidy bit of business as he finished the year with a 7.18 avg match rating, he's a solid CM who does a bit of everything. Oberti was a CAM on loan from Napoli who did a bit of damage despite being 18 years old and Napoli have agreed to send him back over for another season which is nice, hopefully he can develop further in his 2nd year here. A lot of the signings were either meh or just plain bad, Dametto in particular was a pathetic CB who posted a 6.40 avg rating.

Fratangelo was my big signing from last season up top who sucked. This season he did anything but suck and he created a quite simply lethal partnership with the hero of last season Motta. Fratangelo ended the season with a league leading 21 goals and to be honest proved he was worth the 200k we flogged on him. Motta didn't quite live up to the ridiculousness of last season where it was a disappointment if he didn't score but he still posted 18 league goals, 11 assists and an avg rating of 7.08 which is very respectable.

    1596390190_2022topscorers.thumb.png.d9f819052dba0aee3433cf9a3992ef41.png

Fratangelo and Motta both actually finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the top goalscorers of our Serie C group which is kind of ridiculous when you think we never once looked like finishing in the top 4 or so teams despite having the top two goalscorers.

First season of Serie D remains the only time we've gotten a player (Zonzini) worth getting excited over. These guys suck lol.

Pretty worrying figures tbqh. I think we are due a lump sum soon from the league which will make this look a little less bleak but the board have already reduced my wage budget from last season which tells me there isn't much money about for them to inject. This will be something to keep an eye on and I'll happily sell Motta, Fratangelo etc to raise some quick cash if needed to keep the club afloat. Need to get promoted soon though.

2020-21 Season Review - Motta To The Rescue

Bang! We just hang on for survival. A great run to end the season saved us as we got carried by Motta's goals. This was the run of games to end the season, peep how many points Motta won us by himself.

Okay so, transfers. For anyone who's done the San Marino challenge the figure of spending should jump out to you. How on earth did I spend 300k? Well it was essentially on impulse. I dropped a crazy 200k on Fratangelo on deadline day purely because I could, an absolutely horrendous decision as he finished with an average rating of 6.80 and 10 league goals. Stupid decision making from myself which could have put the club in jeopardy had I not made some sales to raise cash.

In general my transfers this year were a mess, hence how many players we signed. I signed new wingers but ended up switching to a back 5 halfway through the season which made them redundant. We signed about 7 centre halves through the season in a desperate search for some stability as we LEAKED goals. The signing of the season hands down was Maurizio Motta who joined in January and single handedly DRAGGED us to survival.

For 35k Maurizio Motta is an absolute bargain, 16 goals and 5 assists in 19 games is an absolutely ridiculous return and without him I'd 100% be getting ready to play in the playout fighting for survival. I'm desperate to keep this guy next season but he has a 140k release clause and won't renew his contract so in all likelihood he will be gone next season unless he has a change of heart (I want to give you all my money Maurizio please stay xx).

Good bit of business on Simonetti who joined in the summer for free and left in January for 200k, helped to offset the madness of the Fratangelo deal.

Somehow Motta didn't even get top 3 for fans player of the season. I'm angry on his behalf.

Need to concede less from indirect free kicks, only team below us finished last in the league by a mile.

How is everyone approaching this challenge?

I have personally chosen to loan unlimited number of players on a free loan (20+), while paying no wages. I initially chose to utilise my senior affiliates players, but then chose to scout all the Seria A teams and their squads, and surprisingly there were many that were happy to join us!

I've then decided to choose to use our funds to invest in the club.

Then work long term with the youth products…

I loaned a fair amount of players, the no wages is a fantastic benefit when the club is struggling for cash in Serie D/C. I do like to have some permanent players in though, mostly for social hierarchy type stuff.

So Pro vercelli or whatever they are called have been managed to get into Serie A, i thought i'd wait until the next seasons' fixtures were released to see if the same would happen to them but no, they are allowed into serie A, i don't understand why i can't get promoted.

Really confusing, as bad as it sounds I'm kinda hoping it's something to do with your expansion DL rather than just the game being bugged because if it completely kills the San Marino challenge I'll be annoyed

    2020-21 January Update

19th in the table. I really don't know what to say. This entire season has been a nightmare. I've made some AWFUL decisions including spending big money on players in an impulse spree and we've just sucked on the pitch. The defense is a genuine disgrace, if there was an option I'd have throttled the left back. On the plus side we're unbeaten in three, thats about the only positive of the season. Hopefully we can strengthen in January and get out of this mess because otherwise we're going down.

    2019-20 Season Review - Champions

Spent most of the season fighting with Pavia for control of top spot, I eventually wrangled it away from them and then they absolutely collapsed and finished 4th which is pretty mad. Once we got ahead of Pavia we never looked back, kept winning and winning until eventually they couldn't keep up. League was wrapped up with 4 games to go, dominant season. We then had to go and play in the Serie D playoffs vs the winners of Group C which was Pontedera who we beat 3-0 pretty easy. Serie C here we come.

Transfer wise I brought in a lot of loanees. They serve two purposes, 1. they're obviously good players and 2. they're all here for free which is critical when the club loses as much money as we do. The best signings were Harvey St Clair who banged 15 goals in from the wing and Nannelli who got 16 assists from the right side, a lot of them crosses to St Clair.

In the team of the season you'll see 17 year old Zonzini who made 28 league appearances at the age of 16, got us 8 goals and 2 assists. Player of the season went to D'Addario (who's from San Marino) who had a ridiculous season at right back with a 7.53 avg rating, 3 goals, 10 assists, 9 MoTM's. Our keeper ends the season with a 91% pass completion rate which shows his success at helping us play out from the back as you'd never get 91% punting it to the striker.

We went up bossing the ball. A lot of people always told me to keep it simple and play direct in the lower leagues because you won't have the players to play football that requires technical ability but you can defo craft a good enough team to pass around the teams in the lower leagues.

    2019-20 January Update

    500170920_2019JanTable.thumb.png.bd03a10a6f7fa9cca3748ab9dbb224d5.png

Extremely tight between us and Pavia at the moment. They've been top pretty much all year but as you can see with their last 5 games they've only won 2 and we've managed to capitalise and now get level with them. I dare to jinx it when I say that I think we *SHOULD* get at least playoffs this year barring an absolute collapse but I am of course hoping to go up as champions. Going to have my eyes peeled all January for a striker as 16 year old Febi has 6 goals in 20 which isn't really good enough, although he does have a knack of bagging very important goals.

Special shoutout to San Marino's own D'Addario who is once again causing absolute mayhem from right back. He has a ridiculous 8 man of the matches in 17 games from wing back and he keeps popping up with extremely vital goals or assists. In my last game I was at home vs the team bottom of the league, battered them for 90 mins but couldn't score and then in the 94th minute the hero D'Addario pops up in the box for a corner and ends up smashing it home.

Results 1   Results 2   League Table

An unexpected promotion. After a very strong showing in the league this season, we managed to seal 2nd place on the final day. Going into the play offs, we faced Latina in the semi finals, who we beat 1-0 in a very tight and tense game, they edged it on stats, but its the score that matters. In the final, i was optimistic until i saw we faced Reggio Audace. They topped our league, whilst doing it unbeaten. I genuinely thought we was facing another season in Serie C. I was amazed when we pulled off the biggest robbery since Man Utd beat Bayern in the UCL final. A 3-1 scoreline, doesn't tell the tale. We had 33% possession, but somehow pulled it off. Serie C here we come.

Wow! Congrats mate, glad to see you made it in the end. I have added you to the hall of fame for getting out of Serie D. Out of interest, did the club turn professional when you were promoted?

    Quick Update

My first attempt failed basically. I tried youth only and started as national team manager. It was going pretty awfully and I thought sod this, Ill start again as just the club manager and allow myself signings. And i,m currently here.....

    League Table

27 games in and were still in with a good chance of the play offs. We are not going to catch Reggio Audace, who are amazingly unbeaten still. Seeing they won the league in @rycl77 save makes me think them being so strong will be a common thing we all see.

    Youth Intake

The main reason for this mini update really, A decent start to youth intakes with one absolute gem. Claudio Valentini yp19a. Amazed to get a player of this standard in the first intake. Hes already of a standard to play for our first team, he has the dual nationality, but im more focused on the club side for the near future. He should either be a brilliant player for us, or at least move on for a decent amount in the future. I am quite happy to develop players and sell them on until i'm higher up the leagues.

@rycl77 it would appear the game likes to throw in a first season gem

Haha wow I was getting annoyed trying to catch Reggio myself but your guys are on another level. Hopefully you can get into the playoffs. Valentini looks really good, I wonder if he's going to hold out to try and play for Italy or not. At the very least if you don't get promoted he should bag a lot of goals in Serie D.
