FM 25 DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
XaW replied to OmnissiahMasteR's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
Could be, but perhaps the plan was to implement some more, closer to players, scenes like the trophy ones if the actual 3d faces had looked better? I don't know, I'm just speculating. -
FM 25 DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
XaW replied to OmnissiahMasteR's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
As I said, it's not puzzling, as the older ones were essentially 2D sprites, while the new ones are fully 3d rendered. Now, they look worse, no doubt, but the reason was so the faces are replicated in the matches, as if the did that with the old ones they would look like this, I assume: Of course, if the change was worth it, is another question. But the reason is far from puzzling. -
In Norway, usually the last month before birth and for up to 12 months after birth (3 months less if the father is there to take his paternity leave and the mother takes all the shared days). It ca be taken out in chunks until the kid is 3 though. All paid too. So 12 months in not unheard of here, no. But various places have various set rules for this, I imagine, so would be interesting to see if/how it is in the game. And I would assume pregnancy would stop players from playing matches at some point before just before birth...? I'm specifically talking about players here, not managers.

I've linked all the official retailers earlier (and also linked in the OP now). Those are the ones SEGA/SI have approved and they should be reliable. -
FM 25 DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
XaW replied to OmnissiahMasteR's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
If I remember correctly, it was to do with adding actual 3d models to the pitch rather than just images. I can't remember for certain, but before the change it was all generic player models and not one that looked like the player in terms of anything other than a few generic traits. So before that you wouldn't see the hair look as it should and height wasn't visible and those things. There were more too, but there was a change in going from generic models to trying to use assets to fit what variables should be there.. The idea is a good one, but I also think it looked better before. This me trying to remember more than a day back though, so take it with a healthy truckload of salt... -
Will you play Women's football in FM25?
XaW replied to CalumF's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
Good point. This is just going downhill, so closing off. To those who want to play women's football - Great, play the women's league when the game releases. To those who don't want to play women's football - That's perfectly fine, don't play the women's league when the game releases. -
The FM24 Youth Academy Challenge
XaW replied to darren1983's topic in Challenges, Sign-Ups & Experiments
Well, that's the challenge! I tend to try to initially trust my assistant on their potential, but I also have a spreadsheet to look at their attributes and see how well they fit any role I might want them in. So based on those things, I try to use the most talented one, as well as retrain those who are better fitted to other positions. Some people are very flexible with tactics, and chance based on the players they get through intakes, I'm personally more of a retrainer to fit my tactic of choice. If you have gotten promoted from the Vanarama South you are doing something right, so just do the same you are and hope for good intakes, and try to improve the youth coaching and youth recruitment whenever you can to get better intakes. Facilities can come later. Also, your English is easily readable, so don't worry about it. English isn't my native language either, just keep using it and it will flow more natural as you do. -

Didn't they do this last year too? The full game comes out on PC 26th, and the other versions, such as console and mobile will come later? -

XaW - Praiense - Season 2029/30 (Season 5) - Liga Portugal Betclic Squad | Transfers | Finances We survived! But only barely, and only on the final day. A somewhat lucky away win over Famalicão was enough to keep us ahead of Estoril Praia and Boavista. Arouca was already relegated at that point. So it's clear we are in for some tough years now, because the top teams here in Portugal are really, really good. Even though we managed to stay up, we still got thumped a few times against the best teams. The good thing is that we only lost 14 matches this season, so we are a hard nut to crack, but we also only won 7. So we have a way to go still. I'm expecting a few years of just getting accustomed to this level of opposition, as well as getting in some better players through the intakes. We have finally started to actually make money now, as opposed to losing, so just staying here will help the club as we can finally start improving the youth setup! Allianz Cup: We beat Torreense and Estoril Praia to go into the 3rd round group. There we faced Estrela da Amadora and Sporting CP. We lost both games and finished last and got knocked out. Taça de Portugal: We beat Fafe and Tourizense before we lost to Rio Ave in the 5th round. Best players from the academy: João Nobre 26h - Very versatile, but is mostly used as the attacking of the two central midfielders. Works well and does good. Jorge Luís 29a - Finally we have a great goalkeeper, and he even scored 5 goals for us, as I'm doing this again! Jorge Aveiro 26c - Our topscorer had another solid season, and showed he can even score at this level. New club records: Worst discipline - Grégory Dedieu 26i - 12 yellow cards, 0 red cards Most league apps for the club - Kinglord Safo - 208 apps Most league goals for the club - Jorge Aveiro 26c - 64 goals Youngest goalscorer - Jorge Luís 29a - 15 years, 270 days Finally I got some impovements accepted. We were also supposed to move into the new council built stadium this summer, but that is nowhere to be found anymore and I just got this info so who knows now... Praiense B No visible matches, only a few friendlies. U19s ' They finished 3rd the Portuguese U19 First Division Group B this time around and went into the Championship group. There they managed to win it on goal difference! Can you upload your save somewhere? I can take a look and see if I spot anything. If you can't then here are a few tips. 1. Your goalkeeper is obviously one of the best in the world with that value, so what teams are likely to bid at least that kind of money for him? How many goalkeepers go for more than £50m? Very few, so the possible clubs are few. 2. The few clubs you have identified. Do anyone of them look like they need a new goalkeeper? Are their first choice old and the 2nd choice far worse? How many possible clubs are you left with? 3. Are there any comparably skilled goalkeepers about? What is the value there? If you were to sell, could you replace him with a equally good, but cheaper option to make money on it? If so, why don't the other clubs go for that player? 4. What are other goalkeepers sold for? Is the value this high because your team are doing great and winning stuff? Perhaps other clubs don't value him that high? 5. Would he be likely to want to leave your club? Do have you given him too much money so other teams would struggle to give him more? Or have you him as a key player or important player, if so, would he have the same for the other possible buyers? These are just a few things I thought could possibly explain to you why no one are willing to buy that guy, as an example. If the market is filled with equally talented players with lower price, then you won't get what you want. Looking a bit deeper into those things can show you why you are not getting high bids for players, as there needs to be an identified need, and also no better options.

FM 25: What do we HOPE for?
XaW replied to Lord Rowell's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
Listen @Kcinnay, I don't like removing posts or giving people infractions in here. But being a moderator means we need to make sure people follow the rules. I've removed posts I technically agree with before because they contained explicit language and that is against the rules, just to give an example. Calling for the people at SI to lose their jobs is not allowed, that's a rule and whatever you might think about that rule doesn't really matter, as you have accepted to abide by those terms by using this forum. If you don't, well, that's then the moderation part comes in. If you say that you think SI are heading in the wrong direction with the game, that's a perfectly fine criticism to have, especially if you give a well thought out reason for why and what direction you would like to see. Some people might agree, others will disagree and both are perfectly fint to do so. By this you are giving criticism to the people who make this decision, but you are not calling for heads to fall, you are asking them to change direction. And if they don't, well, they don't and if they do something you don't like, you can only one thing, stop buying the game. I've had several other franchises I've left due to them changing up the games to a point where I don't enjoy them anymore, and if FM does the same, I would also say goodbye here. Sometimes decisionmakers at companies make the wrong call, and we can't do anything about it if we are not listened to. Now, I hope SI will make a great game, but so far we know next to nothing about what FM25 will be. We can guess and make up things, but other than a few UI shots that might be mockups, we haven't seen anything substantial yet, so we have very little grounds to decide. Also to play the devil's advocate here, I think FM are selling more copies than it has ever done before, so if you look at it from that point of view SI are doing better than ever. Why would they change the course they are on if they do what they think is the right thing AND they are selling more copies than ever? Sure, perhaps there are some small vocal voices like yours, but at what metric are you judging them? Your own view of the game? That's a rather subjective one. You claim the game is worse and worse, but the sales point otherwise. Now, I feel we might have highjacked this thread enough, so perhaps we should continue this on a PM and let the thread return to the game itself and not managing decisions, no? -

Just for the record, I do think forcing DRMs on players is a negative thing, I'm just saying this is not something new that is happening to FM25. -

Then don't look at what FM24 has.... Honestly, why are some people reacting like Denuvo haven't been on the game for some years at least... Edit: Just checked, and it's on FM24 and FM23 at least! -
Will there be Early Access through Steam for FM25
XaW replied to jenvaskes's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
Nothing has been mentioned around it, so no one knows. But keep the discussion in here, please: -
Depends on what you mean by BIG bids. I posted this a while back where I got 4-5 times the "value" of a player I really didn't rate. I even posted a follow up with this, as he was clearly not good enough for West Ham and they eventually released him without giving him a single game. So yes, you can get bids over the value of the player, even for non wonderkid players. I usually player lower leagues so I don't have much to offer about BIG bids at the top tier level clubs, but this is my best example of getting more for your players than they are worth.
