I am playing in English LLM as an underdog promoted from the Isthmian Leagues now in League 2. The below 2 screenshots are the 2 tactics I move between. In most games I am either full on high press or sitting back trying to be tight. One of the 2 tactics seem to be competitive depending on the opposition. I have many questions. Firstly, am I the only one switching to 2 different pressing styles for the same formation? With these tactics I do want to try build up from the back but It will occasionally remove this if we aren't able to play out from the back but generally I am not happy just booting up field to a 50/50 which my players may not be as good at the aerial duels due our fast ascension up the leagues. I do also reduce the passing length and pace down game to game and work ball into the box if the shots to shots on target ratio is not great. I acknowledge the roles might not be great and i'd love some help on roles if you could. One issue I find is that I dont like the gap between the centre mids and the 2 forwards and allows some teams to play in front of my midfielders. On the whole I prefer to keep instructions as small as possible so I can make small adjustments during the game such as speed, passing distance (keep the ball or middle settings on passing), Work ball into the box, early crossing etc. I will also sometimes go full press with attacking mentality as the underdog to try exert aggressive pressure and trying to numbers forward hoping that the better opposition under estimate me. I would like to be able to press aggressively but still be compact between the lines but I'm not sure how to go about this. Sorry that this was a bit unstructured.

In my current save I am in the National League, yet I seem to have the same amount if not more press conferences than Liverpool/Man United in real life. I also get BBC radio five live in my conferences which is silly to me. They wouldn't give a crap who my team is. I do every press conference because I don't know how much of a difference it makes to how the team plays. I don't want my assistant manager saying something stupid that derails a team performance. Is this a thing? Also on previous saves where I would skip all of them my manager profile would show I didn't handle media well. Should I care less and skip? I hate the press conferences. I feel all the needed information on this game is in the forum and not at hand in the game.

I just want to express my disappointment that after buying the FM24 full game on pc I can't play the mobile version without a Netflix subscription. I no longer have a Netflix subscription and do not plan to restart it. I certainly don't want to get a subscription to play the mobile version. Please tell me this arrangement will cease for the next version or tell me a way I can get the game without Netflix?

In press conferences recently when asked if one of the title contenders will win their game I select an answer to the effect of "They should win easily". I am trying to some how play mind games and get them to drop points. Does this work? Do you do this? Is there a guide to do this?

Lower league tycoon query
djpdavey replied to Mattias333's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
I've had 2 take overs..... Once my game crashed before I could save it but recently with Leatherhead in the South Conference I was taken over by a Korean who pumped millions into the club. Problem is, my back to back promotions has my reputation very low so I either cant get players or they get me to pay them way too much -
I got one once and also got Man united as senior affiliate then my game crashed and it didn't happen again as I hadn't saved it

Do you ever start a save in non-league... Maybe below vanarama north/south. Get to the championship and decide the premier is going to be too much hassle and losing to be enjoyable? Going from nearly playoffs one year to promotion every 2 year in every league then premier league is not as enjoyable because it's a big difference? Probably just me.

I have played with stupidly large shortlists. I have found that when you try and remove a large amount of players (5000+) the game stops you from being able to perform any other actions in the mean time whilst the game worked up to consume 8GB of RAM over 10 minutes wait. I have a high spec PC with 32GB RAM, SSD and a powerful processor. Surely It would be best to perform these tasks it's own thread? It consumes loads of memory whilst performing this task. You might be guessing by now I am a developer (not of games). I am talking from the context of FM21. If this has already been improved since FM21 then let me know.

Every FM, when I get a tactic working well I always notice that we eventually start scoring 3 goals in a game. From then on each game we start scoring less and less: What exactly are these teams doing as I'm gaining form? Preston was only just relegated from the Championship. Both my goals were lucky but from Chesterfield down we start running out of goals. Chesterfield were mid table, Exeter & Shrewsbury are bottom of the table. MK Dons are in the league below yet we created hardly anything. Here is the tactic after recent help on the forums: Depending on how the game is going, I may change the LOE and DL up 1 or 2 together and sometimes I might have the DLF on Attack and try playing passes into space if they are committing their FB's/WB's forward leaving a possible 3v2 or 2v2. Do you have some suggestions for this? I know that streaks end but I would like some ideas to try and resist the drop to zero goals.

Malta reminds me of my team struggling in league one. Hardly any chances created

When I think of BPD i think of Rio Ferdinand, Pique etc.... I associate this with dribbling forward to trigger a press from the opposition and free up a team mate to receive the ball. This I believe to be the fact with FM's BPD but the whole defense splitting passes thing looks and sounds to me like a hoof like a No-nonsence CD. Am I completely getting this wrong here?
