I believe every club in Europe should have good foreign players if they want to improve.Flora had some awfull results in European competitions from clubs like Gibraltarian Lincolnd Red Imps and maybe this was one of the reasons,Kalju if i remember right had some good results in EL.Of course you know these things better  because you are Estonian and i am just a Greek guy who like to see smaller nations get better.Estonia should be a nation who can quilify or battle for it in an Euro at  least.

Well,Flora decided to play well in Europe this year with what I think was a squad of all Estonians

I do like Estonia, a fantastic country in honesty. I would love to see their national team improve but the league is rather poor so I think this will stop any real progress. The teams never seem to do very well in Europe (beaten in the 1st/2nd Qualifying round) too. Hopefully you can do much better and in the process, help the league and national team improve.

I'm following with great interest! :D

The league is improving every year because our FA have finally started endorsing it more, for example this year is the first year that the total attendance in the top three tiers (accumulated) reached over 100 000 people. Also Flora twice running Eintracht Frankfurt very close in Europa League (1:2 and 2:1 losses) shows we are doing something right. Also our young players have started heading to bigger academies (Jürgens at Hellas Verona, Tunjov at SPAL, Sapovalov at Freiburg, Hein at Arsenal,Usta at KTP) and our U17 international team beating the likes of Holland,France,Spain and Sweden thing are looking up again

It was the luckiest run imaginable. Alaskhert were poor, Qarabag should have beaten us 6-0 in Azerbaijan, APOEL's AI manager decided to persist with a 4-1-2-1-2 narrow whilst I butchered them on the flanks over two legs. Plzen were formidable at home but shattered in Dublin. I can't imagine you had many easier ties with UCD.

Yeah, something I've noticed in Ireland is the short term nature of the contracts. I feel like the entire league is available to sign on a free by July.

Fagan was really good in previous editions but blows hot and cold for me in this version. 30 goals last season but about 10 in 30 apps this term. My AF is getting no space anymore.

Cheers, domestically it's a struggle this season (as we talked about in the tactics forum) but in Europe my luck has really been incredible.

If u ever do this again then Basssala Sambou is the MAN

I always get frustrated when i go to see a player's 'history' tab and see their 'career' stats. It only shows their league stats. There is no drop down or option to view all stats combined (domestic cup, continental club competitions etc). Can there be a filter added, so even if the league is the default setting, it can be changed to show all of their stats?

mate just click on the season...

Honestly, I'd be fine with any new playable country from the start, but if I had to choose one per poll:

Cyprus - BIggest UEFA-country to not be playable. My personal preference would be Luxembourg, though.

Egypt - One of the, if not the, biggest leagues in Africa. The rivalry between Al-Ahly and Zamalek is interesting as well.

Biased option: Dutch 3rd tier - Although it'd only be an option if promotion from the 3rd tier becomes obligatory and knowing the Dutch FA, it probably won't, despite the current plans to do so.

Unbiased option: 4th tier from a top league - Italy, Spain and Germany all have 3 leagues. France has 4, but the 4th is only playable if you relegate from the 3rd. The prospect of building a club from the lowest depths of a top league that's not England sounds interesting to me.

    Estonia before Luxembourg (Biased)

I think from a commercial point of view SI should focus on lower leagues from the big video games markets already in the game to keep and attract buyers (main core of fm players) (Si already has the searchers)                                            (France,UK,Spain,Italy,Turkey,Russia,Germany,Netherlands,Usa,  Argentina,Mexico,China,Poland,India and Brazil)

Licensing if possible the Brazilian,Chinese,Turkish,Russian  and I league (india). Giant countries with big commercial potential.(Specially Brazil and China to be honest)

Big growing football and video game markets to consider in my opinion Thailand,Vietnam,Taïwan, Macau,Saudi Arabia,

(I dont know if there is Licensing issues (big cost, budget ?) for lower leagues from the big markets in addition to the current main ones in the game) Plus amateur/semi-pro status issues ?

And drop small markets (save researchers and budget money) where there is few intrest, parties started and football passion  (Slovenia,Slovakia,Belarus,israel... ect)

I think you do not belong here

I voted for some "filler nations" here and there, but really the FM community does a pretty good job of building decent set-ups for neglected countries (as well as custom databases like US pyramids with promotion/relegation - my only resentment to US sports is the complete lack of consequences for continued failure.)

I mean yes the ones done by the community are nice but SI just beats it

If FCI Levadia had 7 foreigners on the pitch, then I guess the draconian squad rules in the league file that MarcxD is using are not true to life?

Yeah it is wrong because if you have played in Estonia long enough you get an ETM (Eestis treenitud mängija-Player trained in Estonia)

It was a holiday with friends with whom I always visit former Soviet countries. This was a Latvia/Estonia double trip. I wasn't even paying attention to the fact it was CL qualifiers back then until I saw the results of the draw and I realized I was in Tallinn.

Nõmme was a pretty funny club actually, you would get a 50% discount on their tickets if you clicked "attend" on their event of the match on facebook. They actually had a separate booth at the stadium for people who had liked the event on facebook :D

FC Flora is the only "true" Estonian team. FC Flora has always played with almost all players being Estonian, infact FC Flora is pretty much the child of Tallinna Lõvid and Tallinna Sport (fathers of modern Estonian football). In the last game where they won 0-3 against Tammeka they had only 2 players not from Estonia, one was Zakaria Beglaraishvili who joined FC Flora in 2010 went back to Georgia in 2013 for the birth of his daughter and rejoined in 2014 and is currently working for an Estonian passport so he could play for Estonian International Football team. The other one is a Finnish lad called Anselmi Erkki Nurmela and he joined this year. Kalju had 5 players in their last game that did not own an Estonian passport. FCI Levadia had 7(!) foreign players in their last match

Welcome to my new thread, hopefully this one will last a lot longer than my previous one!

From trying a journeyman last time around I realized again that my preference lies with one club saves, so I will return to my usual format.  I wanted to do something different for this one, so I decided to go for one of the many European countries that I really have very limited knowledge of and absolutely zero where the football is concerned. After some research I decided to go to Estonia for this save.

Estonia is a Baltic and former Soviet nation. In 1990 the football league was founded (as was the club I am taking charge of). Estonia is 47th in the UEFA coefficient rankings at the start of the game, and they are ranked 125th in the world in the FIFA rankings. I’ve taken a look at the national team and the only player I know is Ragnar Klavan. I can play here thanks to the Claassen updates, which I will be using, I've also loaded some more players to make things a bit more challenging and realistic in the long run in Europe. (full setup: 1, 2, 3, 4)

I have chosen Estonia out of a few possible nations (I also looked at Montenegro and Georgia, for instance) since I quite liked the prospect of managing in a nation with extremely harsh squad and match rules, which means it's a great place for a focus on our own youth.

    match_squad_rules.png

For the long term this is also interesting, since it forces all AI managers to also play a lot of Estonians and hopefully their own youth, which should be good for a growing national team, which I plan to take over at some point in the future.

I chose FC Flora Tallinn, playing in Estonias capital. I chose the club since I quite liked the logo honestly, but there is also ample opportunity for youth development as the u-21 play in the second tier and the u-19 play in the third. Hopefully they don't get relegated!

    club_history.png

The club history isn't completely correct since I have started the save in january 2017. The club did not actually win the "last season" since they ended fourth in 2016.

As always my manager is an Andorran manager, and it was quite a trip.

    maps.png

(excuse the Dutch names, you'll get the gist of it).

I am limiting myself with transfers in that I am not going to buy any players from other Estonian teams and that our own youth should be the life and blood of the club.

My tactic will roughly be the same as I've been using in my previous saves, just a little bit simplified to adapt to a lower level of football.

Enjoy. I plan to do this one for a long time.

Bro are you Estonian cause I am

Happy to pin this so people continue to vote. Currently there are no plans to add any further leagues and in part that is down to the difficulties getting accurate research from some leagues and the the potential lack of interest in playing that league. I know there are some leagues in game for FM18 which barely get played (there's a European league in game where less than 350 careers were even started, let alone any fixtures played). That's less than 0.05% of users!

Realistically it would need to be worth the large amount of work needed. This in part is decided by sales in that particular country as well. So whilst there are no plans, it's still interesting to get a gauge even on this relatively small number of votes. I must add that even if one here is highly voted for, there is absolutely no guarantee it would be added.

    Thanks.

I cant believe that the finnish 2nd division is needed if the Estonian Premium Liiga is not even there. I know it ain't that easy but it does not make sense. Estonian Football Association would be glad to help out as they have been looking for ways to improve the popularity and with the UEFA Super Cup coming up I cant see why not to add the league

There's been quite a few requests recently (by myself) for more leagues to be made playable on future editions of football manager by default

in a thread requesting the Estonian league be added @michaeltmurrayuk stated the following are reasons why leagues might be added

I think the 2nd reason (commerical sales) is something we as the fanbase on the forum can help the team at SI with by having a poll on which leagues would make us more likely to purchase the game (I'm always surprised by how many people are a couple or several editions of FM behind the most recent one) if they were added. When voting in the three polls I have created, you can select as many answers as you like, but think carefully about whether that particular league would have an actual effect on you buying the game. Some will, but not all of them. If there are leagues I have not mentioned (I went by the strongest leagues not featured for the two countries questions) then feel free to mention them in the comments.

I am behind for 2 reasons, 1 I'm not sure whether it is worth the money right now as i will wait for Summer sale, 2. There is no Estonian League and this is total crap. The finnish seccond division is included and i can't for the life of me figure out why. I could help them with so much but well they ain't gonna turn to a 14 year old kid for understandable reasons. This League addition is very Long overdue as Cyprus and Latvia. The likes of Poom and Klavan should be enough to make this happen
