I have just completed my second season, the first year back in the Premiership. Finished 5th! Unbelievable season.

Charlie Taylor averaged 7.68 for the season. Glad I brought him back!

Already done a few transfers in preparation for Europa as my squad was thin.

Drinkwater and Luka Jovic in on transfers

Rodrygo, Mahrez and David Luiz in on loans

Pedro, Kenedy, Patrick Roberts and Mario Mandzukic all in on frees!

More transfers to come too I would think

Charlie Taylor signed for scum on my save! I made sure I loudly booed him every time he touched the ball when I played them to keep the realism up

That's fair enough, but are you getting work permits for players that should get work permits if they were Non-EU before this was introduced? Dybala, Suarez, Kante type players? If so (I've not got to Premier League yet....but I will I assure you :D ), then that's cool. I've just read that it might not be working as should?

I've only signed one non-EU player since Brexit, a 19 year old newgen Argentinian keeper from Independiente, and he got a work permit straight away without needing to appeal or anything. Maybe in the future a work permit might get rejected but I'll wait and see.

  3. I'm managing Leeds in the Premier League post Brexit and can't say I've been affected at all by it. I've not had any transfers where I've thought "this player's foreign, I shouldn't sign him because of Brexit". Does anybody really have 17 foreign players in a 25 man squad anyway? I like building a young British squad so my main core is always British with very few foreign players.

  4. My 2nd season in my Leeds save saw an impressive 7th placed finish in the Premier League, narrowly missing out on Europe. Tyler Roberts had a superb season, scoring 23 goals in 35 games and won European Golden Boy.

Halfway through my 3rd season and sitting in 4th behind Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal, my squad is as follows:

GKs: Gerardo Oliva (19 yo Argentinian newgen signed for £10m from Independiente, already 1st choice with 5* potential), Bailey Peacock-Farrell

    LB: Tom Pearce, Barry Douglas

CB: John Souttar, Liam Cooper, Jan Bednarek, Jake Cooper, Reece Burke

    RB: Ryan Nyambe, Jayden Bogle

CM: Kalvin Phillips, Fabian Delph, Jonny Howson, Liam Henderson, Mateusz Klich

RW: Patrick Roberts, Jarrod Bowen, Mike Owen (18 yo newgen from 1st youth intake, 4.5 gold * potential)

    CAM: Lovro Majer, Alex Pritchard

    LW: Ryan Kent, Gjanni Alioski

ST: Erling Håland, Tyler Roberts, Jack Clarke, Toni Martinez

I'm always keen to fill my team with young mainly British players (post Brexit) and develop them. Delph and Howson were both transfer listed fairly cheaply so I thought I'd bring them home, sadly Milner had already agreed a transfer. Alioski and Klich have both agreed transfers away in January so I definitely need to sign a LW (hoping Demarai Gray's wage demands go down, if not then Marlos Moreno is transfer listed at Man City). A CB is also high priority, Jamaal Lascelles is transfer listed after Newcastle got relegated but their asking price is currently £46m!! So am looking for a cheaper alternative.

My best signing has to be Patrick Roberts, had him on loan in my 1st season in the PL and he was one of my top performers. His contract with Man City was up in June 2020 so I was able to pick him up on a free transfer. Erling Håland was a good signing too for £10m from RB Salzburg, Alfie was one of my favourite Leeds players as a kid in the late 90s so nice to have his son doing well for Leeds

    Works a dream for me!

I use this exact tactic (but with different player roles) and it's worked brilliantly for me.

I won the Championship in my first season and am going really well halfway through my second season, think I'm 4th/5th in the Premier League at the minute. I'll go into more detail when I'm home from work later into my transfers and how I'm doing. Halfway through my Championship season I thought the January window was going to ruin my season because a lot of my main players demanded transfers to bigger clubs, but I replaced them all very well and managed to win the league.
