Any recommendations with any players that could improve the starting line up or even as back up/rotation? LB might be a priority (new stransfers like donny will be at united so an updated database)

On my save I brought Lucas Digne from Everton for £37.5 million for more depth at LB. He was my best player in the first season and led me to sell Luke Shaw in January

  2. So as per usual, my end of season report at the end of season 4, a season that got disrupted by the 2022 World Cup midway through the season...so how did we do?

    20200915113546_1.thumb.jpg.bf83a76d83215d7592b51b69f76533ac.jpg

Liverpool may have gone over a century of points in season 2, but we did that and better this season as we absolutely dominated everything in sight! Got on top after the first game and never looked back!

20200915112420_1.thumb.jpg.60c8d8ba791690a5b94c153c097af94d.jpg20200915112431_1.thumb.jpg.3f1aa1e96ee8c90730dc223841685604.jpg Breaking all sorts of records and winning a lot of awards in the process!

But how did we do in the cups? Well we'd already won the Community Shield and the Carabao Cup, could we do a clean sweep of silverware for the first time?

    20200915115023_1.thumb.jpg.45ddc0d0d2c5d1d4fb925bd812184334.jpg

The answer is no sadly. We dominated the game but Arsenal got a late goal and the FA Cup in the process. Gutting, but we still had one more final to go, the Champions League against our old foes Liverpool:

    20200915122910_1.thumb.jpg.f3ba981851c86b92ff1c02c69906ece6.jpg20200915122944_1.thumb.jpg.817052af31fa672f4b747885bd203cea.jpg

Two very similar goals...Maddison from a set piece popped onto the head of Ruben Dias taking him to double figures for the season and netting us our first Champions League win on this save and United's first since 2008, completing a great quadruple in the process! Although credit where credit is due, Antony's equaliser was an amazing solo effort. So how did our players rank up overall?

    20200915124253_1.thumb.jpg.38c23a0340b87889828d76dee161b616.jpg20200915124312_1.thumb.jpg.0aac6ffddbe42997ad85850b4df91d51.jpg

Once again Haaland topped both the average ratings and the goals scored, and as always the majority of players with ratings well into the high sevens along with plenty going into double figures for goals scored. Greenwood impressed after returning from a  loan spell, and Kana, Pogba, Maddison, Ake, Dias and Rashford were all crucial for us over the season as a whole. Verschaeren impressed in his debut season, able to slot in everywhere across the attacking midfield, and I even brought Leroy Sane in on loan just for some extra depth in case of injuries and to have a look at him in case I wanted to purchase him this summer (which I don't if I'm honest). Another player who impressed me towards the end of the season was Ethan Laird as injuries to Aarons and Wan-Bissaka meant he was the first choice right-back for some crucial games and he really impressed. I'd wager that he and Aarons will be my first choice right backs going forward which may sadly mean the end of Wan-Bissaka's time here.

I also just want to mention what's happening to some of worldwide stars from the present day. Messi and Suarez will both be retiring at the end of next season, and as for Cristiano Ronaldo? He's reached the end of his Juventus contract and, seeing as he's still highly rated and after taking a decent wage contract, he'll be coming back to United for one last season. Great for nostalgia and I'm hopeful he'll do the works as best as he can!

And this season's transfer window, which has just started as I post this, may be my most crucial yet as two of my best players are being actively pursued by multiple teams. Haaland is wanted by Barca, Real, Bayern and one or two others and PSG are actively pursuing Ruben Dias so I may have to get my elbows out if I want to keep them. Also being sniffed out are Greenwood, although with a new contract I am hopeful of keeping him, Digne, who I may let go dependant on the offer since Brandon Williams has overtaken him as my first choice left back, and Partey. Let's see how it all plays out later!

(ONE MORE THING) De Gea is 32 and ageing but is still my first-choice keeper, although I reckon with the development of my young keeper Vriends, this upcoming season may be his last at number one. If a team comes in for him this summer though, should I keep him or let him go?

What's the 2 roles you use for your CM's, DLP (s) and BBM or something similar? Also, what games do you tend to use your 4141, tougher games away I'm guessing?

DLP and BBM in supporting roles. Pogba is usually the DLP and either Bruno, Partey or McToms as the BBM. And yeah for tougher away games or if certain players need resting or are injured

  4. 40 minutes ago, Gee_Simpson said:

Lol even though it obviously works I think I'll stick to having a defensively able player next to Pogba in the '2' with Bruno at AMC like real life.

How good has Ruben Dias been for you? He was my 1st choice but the fact you can get Merih Demiral for as low as 19m start of 2nd season is crazy cheap.

Yeah if I have Maddison out on the left then I can push Bruno further up and have either Partey or McToms beside Pogba as the more defensive option, unless I use my 4-1-4-1 in which case I can have Pogba and Bruno as centre mids with Kana in behind as a DLP. Whatever works for you works though

Ruben Dias has been great for me, he's my first choice centre back and current vice-captain:

Interesting. I'm definitely planning to buy him, I haven't planned on buying him as early as the 2nd season but I may do as I'm guessing he will cost more the longer I leave it. I was thinking of using him as either a PF (A) or a CF (A) in my 4231, I would imagine he could be incredible in either but especially the Complete Forward role because he's such a complete striker attributes wise.

I'm surprised that midfield combo works for you, don't you concede lots with 2 defensively weak players in Fernandes and Pogba?

Surprisingly no, they do help out on occasions but as you said they are defensively weak. I'm just grateful for a very solid defence and of course De Gea doing the works in goal.

Plus teams never get a chance to attack if they are having to try and stop us from demolishing them...speaking of which, my current match...

    @ShadowEdSide

Haaland looks insane, I'll definitely be going for him. What role did you use him in and how much did he cost you? Good to see Tuanzebe can turn out like that also, Meier is a surprising one, he looks great. Did you switch to the 4141 like you planned or did you stick with the 4231?

At the start of the second season I bought him for £65 million, worth every penny, and in my formations he's an Advanced Forward (Attack). Most of his goals involve him out-running the centre-backs after a ball from deep and thumping it past the goalie, but if you give him any space inside the box he will punish you for it!

Yeah Meier was a bit of a surprise, I just got a report last season how well he was doing on loan at Brighton and was advised to recall him and he's a handy winger to have. Unfortunately he's currently out for 2-3 months with a dislocated shoulder that he suffered in the first game of the season.

I've stuck with the 4-2-3-1 but I sometimes switch it up to a 4-1-4-1 depending on the players available and the team I'm playing. But if I'm playing a 4-2-3-1 here's my ideal starting XI as of now, front right to left:

    De Gea

    Aarons/Wan-Bissaka - Ruben Dias - Ake/Tuanzebe - Williams/Digne

Fernandes - Pogba (Partey and McToms rotate in here if I push Bruno further forward)

    Verschaeren/Coman - Maddison - Rashford

Haaland (Got Martial and Greenwood as back-ups)

  7. Start of season 4, fairly happy with my dealings in the transfer market:

    20200904173501_1.thumb.jpg.ff5d3c7d1b6d691ab316fa738812f54b.jpg

Yari Verschaeren to add some competition to the wide attacking mid positions now that Chong and James are gone, Jude Bellingham to develop as an attacking central mid to eventually challenge Maddison and Nick Vriends as a backup/future Number 1 GK when De Gea goes, with Maguire, Chong and Barlow all leaving the club and Sanchez retiring. Managed to hold onto De Gea, since I couldn't find anyone better currently to replace him despite the £100 million offer from PSG, and Partey despite interest from abroad and decided to keep Martial since he is still a useful option up front in case anything happens to Haaland. Speaking of Haaland here are some screenshots of my best/exciting young players, starting with Haaland himself:

Onward to season 4, where the aim is to sweep everything before us! See you on the other side!

  8. Welp here we are as always for my end of season post, saved just before he transfer window to next season like always. Just finished season 3 and I'm happy with how it went. Here's the trophies we won:

    20200903205750_1.thumb.jpg.87fb1cfda421b2acf222bb6859d26b78.jpg

Everything in sight EXCEPT the Champions League, so frustrating to go out in the semis for the second year in a row, especially to Liverpool who are my bogey team in this save. But swept everything else otherwise, league went down to the final round of games (even though we had mathematically won the title already due to our insane goal difference, which included a 10-3 mauling of Aston Villa) as Arsenal had a good 2nd half of the season whilst Liverpool dropped off. City only just managed to scrape into the Europa League after sacking Mourinho in March, hiring Espositio Santo before sacking him in May. Pep is now at Arsenal and Klopp is still doing good work at Liverpool.

As for my players, well...one stood out in particular this season...

    20200903210002_1.thumb.jpg.20fc246e45758fd64531c77a3bc9907a.jpg20200903210005_1.thumb.jpg.1a4a84544f5838a4bea5fb3b2aa8802b.jpg20200903195621_1.thumb.jpg.f004bc582fc486d53972eaad0f8a7fd9.jpg

And that man was Erling Haaland. After a slow first season,  Haaland came alive this season and finished up with an incredible 46 goals in nearly 40 appearances, cleaning up every possible end of season award, an absolute beast of a season! Maddison and Rashford were also on fire this season, creating an insane front 4 with Haaland up front with Rashford, Maddison and Coman in behind. Nathan Ake has also come on well, creating a 3 way struggle for the central defence positions alongside Ruben Dias and Tuanzebe. As for Maguire, he fell out of the running and since he wasn't getting much game time I took away the captaincy and gave it to Bruno Fernandes, and just after the season ended he came to me requesting to leave which I have granted seeing as we have Teden Mengi coming through as the next centre-back prospect.

Speaking of youngsters, Gomes and Greenwood went out on loan the second half of the season, with Greenwood shaping up to be my reserve striker as I might cash in on Martial since he's now getting less and less game time due to Haaland. Chong may go as well as he's no longer my prospect on the right wing due to the emergence of Oliver Batista Meier who I recalled from his loan spell at Brighton due to being first team ready. I also swooped in for a young defensive midfielder named Marco Kana at the start of the season last year and he's shaping up very well. I also have several other prospects coming through who are shaping up nicely, especially in the centre back and centre mid areas.

Haven't really got any transfer targets lined up for the next season, but that might change depends on who goes. Partey, Chong, De Gea and others are being sniffed at by the likes of PSG, Real and others, and since Alexis Sanchez is finally retiring and will be out of my hair by the end of June, I'll have quite a bit of wage bills freed up in case we need it so...watch this space!

  9. 20200828190406_1.thumb.jpg.0bb600464fa7ce64975e23f74aeebd4e.jpg

So frustrating, hate it when this happens! Good unbeaten start to the season, even going into this away game at Liverpool early on I was confident we were playing well enough to get a draw or even win, and for the first 25 minutes we were the dominant team until McToms gets himself sent off and from then on we had to dig in and try and grind out a draw. Wasn't to be in the end but ugh, such frustrations!

  10. Took some time but here we are at the end of season 2 of my United save. Nothing much changed from my last post except some last-minute transfer dealings. Dalot went for £40 million and I signed Max Aarons in his place as well as Nathan Ake for some versatility which completely drained my funds for the season so no-one came in and out in January apart from Pereira who went out on loan to Villa with an option to buy as well as Sanchez who I still can't get rid off. So then...how did the season pan out league-wise? Well...

    20200827183554_1.thumb.jpg.0a7d925053ccfac383f98bc9d0e5fa89.jpg20200827183904_1.thumb.jpg.9192fe598f8e9d934d93fb350ddc7788.jpg

Normally 94 points would be a title-winning number but Liverpool were merciless this season, racking up 101 points and losing only 1 game all season en route to winning a League/Carabao Cup/Champions League treble, beating us in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup in the process. As for the Champions League, we lost to PSG in the semis after winning the first leg 1-0 at home but losing 2-0 in the away leg, with PSG going on to lose to Liverpool in the final. And as you can see by the team of the year, no-one else was really in our league, literally.

We got our revenge in the FA Cup though, beating Liverpool in the semis en route to a final against Man City:

    20200827190632_1.thumb.jpg.ebfeebe1f7c1acb673ba1a60f59cb5b4.jpg20200827190709_1.thumb.jpg.4449fbcbb90d3c5ef64953f8b85843c8.jpg

Two Ruben Dias headers netted us the victory and allowing us to complete our own treble of Community Shield/Euro Super Cup/FA Cup. Speaking of Ruben Dias...

20200827183852_1.thumb.jpg.81a8eb0d0b614dc50336518a271c0342.jpg Young player of the year in his first season, a good return. As for the squad in general...

    20200827191526_1.thumb.jpg.f816bc482d0182edaad0eafb8939204d.jpg20200827191529_1.thumb.jpg.6e6e52d8336d7b06c4f661d6876a5798.jpg

Overall solid ratings across the board, only 1 or 2 slipping under a 7 rating for the season. Pogba, Partey, Martial, Rashford and Dias were the standouts for me. Wasn't an easy first season for Haaland but he'll get there. As for goals, Martial led the way with 29, with Pogba also getting 20 goals and Rashford, Haaland and Coman all getting into double figures.

Now for the summer window which I'll be starting in the morning. I think James, Fred, Henderson and probably Lindelof will be cleared out, and I'll finally be able to dump Sanchez hopefully. May develop some youngsters in their place, although getting another set of legs on the right wing will be handy to compete with Coman, thinking maybe Cheisa from Fiorentina as well as a replacement back-up goalie if Henderson does go. Aside from that I'll be hoping to hold on to Coman and Fernandes who are being sniffed at by Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively, and from there figure out how to stop Liverpool dominating into season 3...

Look at Milenkovic at Fiorentina. Should be able to buy for less than 50 mil and he is incredible.

I used him on my Man Utd save and have also got him on my Lazio save, never lets me down.

Thanks for your advice. In the end I sold Baily and brought Ruben Dias. Came in on the day of the Community Shield so I started him from the bench, came on for the last 10 minutes and got a goal!

    14 minutes ago, Gee_Simpson said:

Interesting, he barely scored for me at AM (S). What formation did you use most?

Last year it was a 4-2-3-1 but this year I think I'm going to use a 4-1-4-1 DM Wide so he'll be slotting back into centre midfield alongside Pogba/McToms/Fred/Partey

My summer window is done with so here's what happened with my squad:

Bought: Haaland, Maddison and Ruben Dias along with a few youngsters

Sold: Romero, Grant (retired), Baily, Smalling and Lingard as well as sending Sanchez back out on loan

I wanted to go for Leroy Sane as I'd mentioned beforehand but he went to Barca so I went for Maddison next. He'll be good competition for Rashford on the left. Also managed to hold onto Pogba and got him to sign a new contract so he's here long-term now. As for the other teams in the Prem...

    20200819151627_1.thumb.jpg.904417f6059ec2517eef9bf732082e2a.jpg

Chelsea have done some major work bringing in Lukaku, Milinkovic-Savic and Ziyech whilst Liverpool have made the biggest move so far with Dybala along with Sandro Tonali (who I remember fondly from last year's United save). As for managers, Zidane got sacked from Real at the end of last season and brought in Ancelotti who was at Everton at the time, with Everton replacing Ancelotti with then-Brentford manager Thomas Frank who was succeeded by former Bayern manager Niko Kovac.

As for Spurs, they now have Roberto Martinez as their manager to replace Mourinho after his sacking. But that sacking only got him a bigger job as Mourinho is now managing Man City. So now we have a former Man Utd striker leading the line and captaining Chelsea (Lukaku) and a former United manager now in charge of our city rivals! Will that be enough to shake us from the top? Well...

    20200819152526_1.thumb.jpg.d10b4af4cf1793be8821b459eb3afa7c.jpg

Doesn't seemed to have made a difference so far! Although it did take a bit to get up and running, we got the job done quite emphatically! Gotta say though, Milinkovic-Savic's goal was a belter. Onward to season 2!

With Pogba just negoiate any offer they do for alot of money they should lose interest then he should be happy to stay long as you get the Champions League qualification that he asks for at the start of the first season or atleast he did on mine. Even got him on a lower wage than he starts on too!

Sane I would play as the AMR perhaps as a Inverted Winger with his crossing and got a decent rating for finishing and has speed him and Rashford on the flanks would be a devastating attack with Greenwood or Martial at the tip of the attack!

How much did Digne cost you? Just started a new save and just had him come up to be signed!

Thanks for the advice, I'll take it into consideration. As for Digne I paid £37.5 million for him, and worth every bit of it

    8 hours ago, Gee_Simpson said:

@ShadowEdSide Nice first season mate. What role did you use Bruno at in the 4231? I'll be trying him as a Treq this time around as he didn't get many goals for me as a AM (S) last time.

If he was in the AM role in my 4231 it's as an AM (S). Otherwise if he was in the MC role for both of my tactics it was as a Mezzala (Att). If both Pogba and Bruno were both playing centre mid I'd always have Bruno be the more attacking role and Pogba would be playing the DLP (support) role.

  13. Welp I said I would post again when we got to end of season so here it is, end of my first season with United in FM 2020:

    20200818225417_1.thumb.jpg.b6c73a1b9b4f80f83681b590590fcb75.jpg

Like I mentioned earlier I won the Carabao Cup, and followed that up by winning the league as well. Out in front for the majority of it, dropped a few points near the end including two losses away at Liverpool and Bournemouth (although the Bournemouth loss was after we'd already secured the title and I wanted to rest some players for cup finals). Very happy with how it went, although losing Digne to injury for the last few weeks of the season was something we could've done without. Wolves did well to finish in 5th ahead of Arsenal and Spurs disappointed, hence why Mourinho was sacked part way through the season. And due to them not winning anything and finishing 4th, Pep got sacked by City at the end of the season, and since I saved and quit just before the transfer window his replacement hasn't been decided yet. As for the other cups...

    20200818225428_1.thumb.jpg.c12268e114b434cf908adb13d2bb0f23.jpg

This...yeah, was a shame but wouldn't be interesting if we won them all each time. Chelsea went right out of the blocks early and could easily have been 2 up had De Gea not saved Jorginho's penalty. Improved in the second half but Chelsea held firm to run out FA Cup winners

    20200818225436_1.thumb.jpg.04b50c06d44dfb6e298019895dee06dc.jpg

The boys put the sting of the FA Cup final loss behind them and produced a solid display to knock off Arsenal and deny them in the Europa League final for the 2nd season running, thereby completing a treble in my first season and making the board happy.

    20200818225502_1.thumb.jpg.55970cf00b8b9d469e5b79412ac2d8a3.jpg20200818225516_1.thumb.jpg.ab46809f47f8c246415eda25ebd81a24.jpg

Stats and goals for the first season, and lo and behold two of my signings were the best players throughout the whole season! (Digne cleaned out the player awards at the end of the season as well and all my back four plus De Gea were named into the Team of the Year). As for goals Greenwood topped the pile with 20, only one of five to get into double figures for the season. Although shockingly Rashford wasn't one of them, and has even been dropped by Southgate for the Euros! Worrying times indeed for young Marcus...

    20200818225507_1.thumb.jpg.96e2f16d6bb941c30fb0c811b5651577.jpg20200818225513_1.thumb.jpg.6e4cee21c12a0a811958ee73dd6d6746.jpg

My two stand-out players of the season. Digne of course I've gone on and on about already, but Tuanzebe I was pleasantly surprised by! He's now an absolute beast and PSG are sniffing around, gonna have to ward off interest for him!

Now comes my first summer window with a kitty of £250 million and some interesting dilemmas are afoot. Pogba won't sign a new contract and Real Madrid are interested. Should I try and hang onto him or not? I'm also going to be doing a clearing of my first team players who were on loan so Sanchez, Smalling and Pereira are all going as usual as will Romero to make way for Henderson's return.

Haaland I'll be picking up straight away to create a three-way fight at the head of the line between Martial, Greenwood and Haaland. Coman's made the AMR position his own and James has impressed so I might keep him as a backup to Coman. Rashford might need some competition on the left side, so either I stick with Gomes and Chong or give them another season to develop and bring in someone else such as Sancho or Gelson Martins because Lingard will be going.

As for centre-back, Maguire and Tuanzebe have got those positions locked down with Lindelof and Baily in reserve. Thinking of selling Baily and bringing in another to compete with Maguire alongside Tuanzebe, any ideas? Digne's got the LB position locked down with Williams as a back-up, and Dalot and Wan-Bissaka will be competing again for the RB position and I think I'll keep it that way for another season.

Also here's an interesting occurrence: Leroy Sane has been put on the transfer list by City...he's 96 scout rated, recommended to be signed whatever the price and on offer for around £55-£60 million. Should I plump for him or will having him compete with Rashford for the AML position cause one of them to be upset with their lack of game time?

Any suggestions will be welcome, time for me to sleep! Best to do the transfer window after a good night's sleep!

  14. Time for my yearly posts in this topic. FM 2020 was on sale on Steam so I picked it up, started up my usual Man Utd first save and got cracking with sorting out staff and transfers.

In the summer window, as well as doing my usual coaching staff clearance (I find promoting some of the coaches from the U23s such as Tommy Martin, Tony Whelan and John Cooke work just as well as getting in new ones), I also made one or two signings and one major sale. Sent Matic packing straight from the get-go to China, and in his place I tried to bring in Reuben Neves from Wolves but they were asking way too much, thought about getting Vidal on the cheap from Barca but decided against that as well before eventually plumping for Thomas Partey from Atletico for £27.5 million pounds, and he's a usual midfield option if I am playing a tactic where I push either Pogba or Fernandes further forward in the AM position.

As for my second signing, I identified left-back as an area that needed strengthening straight away. Luke Shaw is too injury-prone for my liking and Brandon Williams still needs a year or two to be first team ready so I went and brought Lucas Digne from Everton for £37.5 million, and I gotta say he has more than done enough to justify that fee as he has easily been my best player this year, making the left-back position his own and allowing me to sell Shaw in January.

As for the youngsters, the standout in my save has been Tuanzebe, by far my best centre-back at the moment and forming a strong partnership with Maguire and keeping Lindelof and Bailly out of the team. Daniel James is currently swapping in and out with Rashford for the AML position, Greenwood is competing with Martial for first-choice striker and Gomes, Chong and Garner are getting minutes in cup fixtures and whenever players need a rest.

And in terms of the AMR position, I thought I could manage with the likes of Mata and Lingard but they hadn't been playing well enough and so in January, after selling Jones, Shaw and Mata and sending Pereira out on loan, I signed Kingsley Coman from Bayern for £30 million, and he immediately made an impact, bagging an assist and an 8.3 rating in his first game before having to sit out 2 or 3 games through injury, but on his return he scored a hat-trick as we demolished Zenit 6-0 in the first leg of the First Knockout round of the Europa League and has made that AMR position his own since.

As for the competitions, we've won the Carabao Cup, beating Arsenal in the final 2-0, and are still in the Europa League and FA Cup. As for the league, we've only lost one game all season (a 2-1 loss away at Chelsea early) and are cruising at the top, with 30 games played we are currently 9 points ahead of Liverpool in 2nd, although we do have quite a tough run-in to come, especially a three game streak against some of the top teams: Arsenal at home followed by away trips to Liverpool and Man City.

I'm mostly using a 4-2-3-1 Wide tactic at the moment, although sometimes I swap it to a 4-1-4-1 DM Wide depending on the game. Here is my strongest 11 at the moment:

    GK: De Gea

DR: Wan-Bissaka (although Dalot is giving him a good fight for that spot)
    DC: Maguire
    DC: Tuanzebe
    DL: Digne

MC: Partey (Fred/McTominay rotate in when needed)
    MC: Pogba

    AMR: Coman
    AMC: Fernandes
    AML: Rashford/James

    SC: Martial/Greenwood

Will probably update when the season comes to an end, and am really enjoying reading how everyone else is doing so far!

  15. I came back to the game and have been going through as usual...AND I AM ALMOST BEGGING FOR SOMEONE TO BEAT ME IN THE LEAGUE! ANYONE, I DON'T MIND, it could be Man City or Bristol City I wouldn't care...I am on a 120+ match unbeaten streak and it's just getting ridiculous to the point where I have even considered restarting through matches until I get a loss! But I can't, I swore to myself I wouldn't quit in matches in this save if I didn't like the result so I can't do it! All I can do is just keep things interesting for myself, rotating out the old guard and replacing them with youngsters coming through my youth team or buying from European nations. Here is my current squad:

It's now 2024/25, and so much has changed from the start of the game. The following are no longer here: De Gea, Henderson, Romero, J. Pereira, Young, Valencia, Darmian, Smalling, Jones, Fosu-Mensah, Bailly, Rojo, Shaw, Pogba, Herrera, Matic, McTominay, Lingard, A. Pereira, Fellaini, Mata, Sanchez and Martial...To be honest the only regulars still around are Rashford, Dalot and Lukaku as well as youngsters Gomes and Chong. Also want to show off some of the game's regens I've got, either through my youth system or purchased young and raised through the ranks:

    Jules Ayuk: 20190615131205_1.thumb.jpg.f0c811cae00568eaeb3f8c0577b95af2.jpg

The most impressive for me so far have been Vonk, who I purchased young back in the first couple of seasons and is now challenging Tiernay for the left-back position, and Strohmann and Ayuk, who I purchased at the start of this season and have been on fire. Strohmann is 20 and a 6 foot 6 beast with plenty of time to grow, and Ayuk has been smashing in goals left and right and is my joint top scorer along with Rashford. If there's anything else people want to see from my save let me know and I will happily provide screenshots

  16. I am...well things are...interesting in my game at the moment...I do like a challenge but right now, this is bizarre!

The stat you need to pay attention to is second from the left on top...90 games unbeaten in the Premier League...90! And without any reloads or anything, I am literally begging for someone to beat me in any game I play...and it's not like I never lose...I have gone out of cups, I have lost finals, I once had an embarrassing loss to KRC Genk in the Champions League I posted about a couple of seasons ago on away goals when they put 4 past me at Old Trafford and never reloaded, yet for some reason in the League on this save I just cannot lose...WHY I ask myself, even after I just recently sold my best centre-back to save some money on the wage bill! I wish I knew...and that's not the most bizarre part, that's to come:

    20190525170538_1.thumb.jpg.7adee62f97328bf3a668cc3d4bc04933.jpg

What you are looking at is the right hand side...earlier this season the board slashed my wage budget by £1 million per week, granted it was very high and I probably should have managed it better but still...I am up a sticky wicket. That's why I had to sell De Ligt to PSG...he wouldn't renew his contract and he wanted to go, even though I was successful in persuading him to stay by telling him he was a popular figure in the dressing room. Managed to get £100 million for him. Any chance to slash the wage budget I am taking at the moment...that's why I am also happy to let Lewandowski's contract run down this season, he's on £300k+ a week and he's starting to decline...but I am probably going to have to sell another high-earning player to balance the books and promote youth in their place. Probably thinking Lukaku as I have several young strikers waiting in the wings who are first team ready

As a CAM or wide player?

Also back to your previous message my friend uses him and he plays him in CAM. Can be used in a 3 man mid where he's the attacking playmaker and creates a good enough rate. His pace is overrated though so don't expect him to be a fully fledged wide player like an IF on attack, creative ability.

Usually play him as a CAM, but can fill in on the left wing when I'm resting Jadon Sancho

Thanks, good to know. Tried him all around the place and he worked best as either a CAM or a playmaker in centre mid

Curious if anyone has managed to develop Greenwood, Gomes or Chong (or any of the other youngsters) into first-team players for United? Any screenshots?

All three of those are in or around my first team right now, here are some current screenshots:

    Gomes: 20190516105455_1.thumb.jpg.d2f22a3b6ec1313a516037547a3e6046.jpg

  19. After a month or two I have decided to return to my FM 19 save with Man Utd. All is going just as I left it...us winning unlike real life

Just a question. Marco Asensio...what is his best position? Right now he can play the centre and right of midfield, all across the attacking midfielders and even up front. Where have you found the most success with him?
