  1. It used to. Back in FM14 I had a plug and play tactic which I designed and I used it for everything because it worked regardless of scenario. It gave me good results without feeling ridiculous. The game got better over the years in this regard. It's more fun that way. The last couple of titles I no longer feel like I'm solving a puzzle in regards to tactics, with right and wrong answers. It's more dynamic. It still needs improvements. I am still unable to make any tactic with anything below a standard defensive line work.
  2. Watch it in full match so that you can tell exactly where the screw ups are occurring. My suspicion: - Your DLF is overly isolated and is not sufficiently effective as he doesn't have anyone to pass the ball to, other than Gabriel Silva; - Your Inverted Winger on the right is not making sufficient runs through the middle to support Martins and Silva because you're instructing him to old the ball and wait for an overlap on the right... which often will probably just result in him losing the ball or Lucas Soares not finding a target with his crosses. You're also already "working the ball into the box", so the extra instruction might be too much. - Try to narrow the field to bring the IF closer to the DLF; - Is your BPD actually being helpful, or just screwing things up? Mine isn't too different from yours and it works (ignore the "custom wing play". It's got little left of that preset tactic.)
  3. I have an empty under 19 B team which has no use and thus no staff members in it. I was wondering if anyone has attempted using such teams to nurture retiring players with good staff attributes and keep them around. Apart from the roleplaying aspect, I have players with good basic staff attributes (high discipline, motivation and determination) who will clearly become good coaches once they start getting their badges, but who aren't yet good enough to take a coach spot in my team. They also often won't have a good "working with youngsters" attribute, so I can't let them train the U19s. Thoughts?
  4. This isn't true. Most professional clubs are well structured and promising players are kept an eye on, even if the current manager isn't keen on giving them playing time. Mismanagement is a general problem with the AI. Including in your own club. Like the absurd amount of staff positions that many clubs allow, but if you actually fill them all in (as they encourage you do), the finances will take a nose dive. They then need to fix it after the fact, rather than pre-emptively.
  5. I tried searching for an answer but everything that comes up are statements about the game being scripted against their own team, a claim which seems to constantly being proven incorrect. What I want to know is if anyone else experiences, with consistency, and especially in the first years of a new save, that abysmal starts to the league for teams expected to finish in the top spots tend to correct themselves in the very final matches of the campaign. Is the game coded in such a manner that teams overperforming "feel the pressure" towards the end, and start losing matches, while teams underperforming start playing better? It would make sense if it was so.
