  1. This falls in the same black hole as roles when loaned. Why in earth would a manager pick up the phone to bug me about my Sweeper Keeper not being a Goalkeeper....? Dude, a SK ticks all the boxes as a GK, but it is more demanding....?!
  2. Trials for loans is an option, but players might say no. Besides that, it's a bit of a gamble, yet you can wait until deadline day and get free loans. I've used this last option myself lately and you can get good players out of it. Lastly, look at how much salary the player gets. This will indicate how good the player is. Surely, AI tends to cheat when 'competing' with us, but players in the same role at the same club who have different salaries mean something... 😉
  3. Try the Eredivisie (or Keuken league, the one under it). It has one of, if not the best, loan regulations (there are none), you make good money, there aren't too many games and the difference between national and European footbal can be enormous, which is a challenge.
  4. It can be added too that when offering a contract immediately everyone else in the universe wants the same player. But oh no... the AI deals with the player the same as with other clubs...
  5. Be aware that scouting can cost a lot of money. You can easily spend 500k by just throwing around team reports and scouting individuals. It's a bit of a cheat, but only get the scouting package you need when you want to search for players. Your scouts (from my perspective) don't get affected by it.
  6. There isn't that much you can do: Stay under wage budget and look for end of contract players. Preferentially, young players with potential who might earn you some money and also can be either kept at the club for development or to be sold. When selling a player, add profit 50%, since that might make you some good money. Do well in cup games and be lucky with the draw. Drew Liverpool in the 3rd round and netted 800k in TV money. That was my budget for an entire season... Surely, we lost the game, but we got a ton of money out of it. Doing well in the league (getting promoted mostly) leads to bigger crowds and more sponsorship. It won't make you rich, but it will do with your projected income. Senior affiliate is a must have as mentioned by phnom. The rest is out of your control... until League 2 you'll be hovering between no money and some money.
  7. A takeover is sth that happens occasionally in he lower areas. I imagine it due to the club 'losing' money and the current owners not seeing it economically viable to maintain said club. Regarding promotions, I don't know how special databases work on that regard, but it isn't that difficult to stay afloat on Vanarama levels: don't overspend on salaries, FA Cup and the rest falls your way.
  8. 1, 2 and 3: have the game in Brazil available in a legitimate way.
  9. I can't imagine they work the same. Needlessly to say, if it were true, processing speed would be slow due to more rng. Furthermore, the AI would know what options are favorable or it always picks the same ones. The latter would explain the bad cohesion, but that would also imply dressing room revolts, which don't happen.
  10. As the title mentions, do we need these people in the lower leagues? I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not to hire some, because they only drain money and I can do the job easily myself. One might argue that it might be gamey, but the AI uses the same tools, so why not?! I've seen people throwing team reports all over, but does that really help? Note: I'm the new manager of York in the Vanarama National League (FM22). Also getting a senior affiliate seems impossible at times.
  11. 16 months can be a lot. Specially considering you're probably making a ton a year, thus your buyout clause Is high.
  12. I did exactly that and not a single soul had an interest to join me. Those who did wanted to be star player and the rest really needed to find a different sport to play. Decided to quit and I started with York in the same league, but 'fresh.'
  13. What's your contract situation? That might explain a lot.
  14. Don't let players contracts run out before you have a replacement. We got promoted as Gloucester and not a single soul wants to join my team. They either want to be a star player or are so horrible that you wonder if a career in running wouldn't be better for them. Loans are a similar story.
  15. You mean participating in talk shows and so on? Dude, it sounds okay, but the AI needs a lot (!) of improvement for me even to consider it. Every single time I get a trial player: a journalist has a question....That's just to name an example, but there are many others. The answers we can give are arbitrary and don't describe exactly what's going on. Hence, why many people delegate anything related to media and if we could, player interaction as well aside from contract negotiations.
  16. I am no longer able to use the game, because damn Xbox Live decided to stop functioning and with their amazing 🤮helpdesk, things stayed like that.
  17. It's a game based on football and not on war or politics. There have been enough memes about it though on Reddit where Kosovo, Bosnia and Serbia nationally or club wise are put in the same group. Same goes for transfers, but that's rare.
  18. You haven't found out about the part where the player ignores your 500k anual star player bid and goes to another club as a fringe player for 100k a year....
  19. You can use skins for it. There are several and they kind of make it look standard for any club. What I definitely don't recommend is using stadium backgrounds... Before I found out about this, when unemployed and looking for a club, it was my main criteria: Do I get seizures from your colors?!
  20. There are some things you can do (and shouldn't do) Free loans! Look a league or two above you and find them yourself. Scouts are not required, since you can trial almost all of them. This depends heavily on your reputation and infrastructure. Friendlies: At the start of the season, plan a friendly every 3-4 days with teams above your league. Surely, you will lose, but to compensate, plan a game against a much weaker team to finish pre-season and you'll be fine. This can give you around 100k. Senior affiliate: Free loans and a friendly game are included in this one. Moreover, they might pay you 50k annually. Stay under wage budget. The game's calculations go beyond me, but you can't do anything else regarding finances. Contracts: Don't hand them out willy nilly. Stay away from wage rises, appearance fees and long contracts. Instead give them bonuses that will help you club. Look at what your best player makes and see how your candidate competes. My personal rule: My striker is my top earner. Look for free agents at the end of the season by trialing them all. How? Go to league view of your desired league (e.g. Premier League), go to transfers, released players and enjoy! Tip: send them all to your U18 team, since it will mess up your training (which is already terrible to begin with). Selling players: Add a friendly + next transfer share (Forgot the name) and that's about it. It's wishful thinking, but it can work Don't delegate any signings: At this level youth is not worth it, so why need staff? Surely, you can invest in the structure if you have the money. However, there is an extreme low probability that you'll find a youth player good enough to be brought to the Championship when you're in the Vanarama.
  21. It's a guessing game with so many variables. Not to mention the code needed to make it work. Therefore, it's heavily based on RNG and if that favors Gegenpress, it means that the code has more 'true' cases than 'negative' cases resulting in a goal being scored. If you really want to know, they'd have to give you the coding. However, imagining they'd even consider it, it would make this game extremely meta, which it already is in certain ways. I hate losing, but knowing how to fix it is one thing, but simply never getting in the situation is a whole other thing.
  22. Anything post 2020 can be considered good, especially if you go for the upper markets ones. An older laptop already struggles with these, such as mine. Surely, it 'works' but it depends how much of patience you have. Hence, the advice to remove leagues when they're no longer needed. If you really want to go for a journeyman, the top 5 is basically mandatory, you'll need to lower hanging fruit leagues. Perhaps some in the middle, but that together will be 125k of player base, which the game doesn't recommend for some reason.
  23. I can't seem to login at all. I get an error code saying that my connection is down or their service. Talked to their automatic tech support and they just send me links to pages I had already seen. A lousy service and a waste of money (literally). They blame my Internet provider having closed some ports and I need a fixed IP. Have had Steam for +10 years, have been using Epic, but no....its my problem. Googled it and a ton of people having the same problems. In other words: avoid Gamepass.
  24. If you start with sunday experience and no badges, this is what you can select: England: Vanarama South/North Northern-Ireland Belgium: lowest leagues Sweden: Lowest Leagues Chile: Second league South-Africa South-east Asia as a whole It's possible Eastern-Europe will have options, but I've never tried it. Moreover, you need a monster of a CPU to handle all of the mentioned leagues, since it also counts the ones above them. There is also the question of what settings you have. If you start unemployed, in July there are only few spots available for you. The southern hemisphere has been going on for 6 months, so you'd depend on someone getting sacked there. When September hits, you'd have to wait for November/December, since then the northern hemisphere gets the sacking ritual.
  25. Hello, My Xbox Live stopped working out of nowhere and people at Microsoft blatantly told me that my router is the problem. I'm 35 years old and never have I had to change settings in my router due to a game service. I am fully aware that nor SI or Sega can solve my problem, but for people who are thinking about getting FM through this service I don't recommend it. It already makes your system slow, you need a constant internet connection to play the game and it. Can't wait for Brazil to get it's crap together, so I can buy it normally.
