IMPORTANT: The reason I shared this tactic with you is only to help you see how simple it can be, both in terms of roles/duties and instructions. In other words, you don't need too many attack duties and "fancy" roles nor too many instructions. All you need is just a good balance of roles and duties and couple of (basic) instructions to support your desired style of play.

Thank you very much @Experienced Defender and @frukox

I see your point. My tactic was created in a manner that when something wasn’t working the way I wanted, I just kept modificating adding that one instruction more and the end result is a complete mess :D

I just got defeated by a 3rd tier team in Spanish Cup, but I’m still okay in the league and in 2nd rnd of UEL.

Back to the drawing board. Thanks guys.

    4) The most hyped and marketed addition for the game is new Data Analysis thing and xG but I do not like them very much. It should have been properly explained. I cannot understand how can they improve my game. For example I am playing with Southend and Lost 5-0 to Man Utd in a FA Cup game. My xG is very similar to Man Utd. But I cannot understand where my players did wrong from xG or from the Data analysis. I know my strikers are not good, and for that I do not need xG.

Last but not least I really like Football Manager 2021 and will dedicate many hours to it even if I cannot understand xG :)

There are many many ways to use it to analyse your team/players and it actually is very useful metric for this game.

How I would suggest to use it in a simple way:

I don't know how you operate, but I'd say often times people make their tactical decisions based on the outcome of a match. However one outcome of a football match in real life and in FM is very random.

Instead of changing/honing your tactics based on results, you could use the xG to do that. Did you lose 3-0, but xG is very close to each other say 2.0 - 1.8. Analysis -> The game was pretty even, I had a bad luck, perhaps no need to change anything.

Another example: You won 1-0, but xG wasn't in your favour say 0.5 - 1.5. Great, I won, but the perfomance was not that good. What should I do to make my team perform better?

I mean it doesn’t really make much sense.

we missed the green light on Friday and we don’t work weekends to release it.... surely that implies Monday?

if it was pretty much ready to ship Friday but they missed it and don’t do weekends ....

at this point they must know if it’s today/tomorrow so why not just say hey guys tomorrow. Go do something with your free time

    Because it's coming today!

Nothing in this thread is designed to be nasty towards the fine folk at SI. It is merely an excuse to engage in silliness,  share GIFs and discuss the menu at Greggs.

That is why this thread is so fantastic. I just hope the positive people in this thread beats those who has nothing but complaints about basically everything SI does. I usually read some of Miles twitter replies and there is just too much negative in there.

  6. I think it would be more realistic if there would be more partnerships for example GKs with DCs and DCs with FBs maybe even Wingers and strikers.

    Thanks,

occasionally when you browse through scout reports, check if you can sign 'market' players like korean, japanese, us. You'll get a report that this player will bring financial boost.

Yeah thanks, that could be good. I've also arranged friendly tours in us etc. I guess those are good too

signing high reputation players (shirt-sales), good results in european cups (rising reputation-> better sponsorship deals), good results in domestic league/cups. That's what matters when it comes to finances. And don't forget that Real and Barcelona are not one year wonders, it's really hard to be ahead of them in terms of money. But as long as you're in similar position in title challenge it's not a problem I think.

    Thanks for the reply,

Signing high reputation players might be where I lack the most since most of my world-class players are developed into that. Without proftibale player sales I'd make about 50-100m loss per season. I've looked for bargains and sold players with very much profit to keep my balance okay, but waiting to get to the point where I could make some profit without player sales.

  9. Hi fellow managers,

Do you have anything I could work on in my incomes? I am with Sevilla 10 years deep into the save and been title challenger for about 8yrs and won the league three times and have real world-class palyers. And I am the number 1 team itw (reputation).

Barcelona and Real Madrid is beating me by a mile in commercial income (if I remember the term correctly). Barcelona generating about 100mil more than me and Real Madrid is doing quite bad for many years and still producing some 50mil more than me. Is the growth really slow or is there something I could work on?

    Thanks for the help mates.
