No idea why I am answering you - especially if you don't think Edouard is by far the best striker in the league - and oh by the way it is not even a close contest.  But I am sure, if you can tell me anything that says Morelos should be better then please let me know.  As it isn't goals this season, it's not minutes per goal, goal conversion or shooting accuracy...

Take away Edouards pens and his goal record is similar. Plus Morelos has proved himself in the big European games this season. Morelos has also out scored Edouard every season they’ve both played in Scotland, apart from this season (which isn’t finished yet).

    1. Gerrard inherited Tavernier as captain after Murty gave him the role. Would probably have upset the dressing room if he came in and changed things. I think everyone can see and hear that Connor Goldson is the real leader of the group, probably with McGregor not far behind. But Tavernier wears the armband and leads in a different way.

    2. Examples? There's been quite a lot of changes (both up and down) in the update.

    3. Hasn't been confirmed.

    4. Examples?

    5. Thanks, will take a look at this one

Gerrard didn’t want to upset the dressing room on arrival? He completely changed the dressing room bar 4 or 5 players, if he didn’t want Tavernier as captain he would of removed him and selected someone else. It’s clear that Gerrard believes Tavernier is the best choice.

  3. Morelos downgrade seems extremely harsh, he had a shaky start to the season with transfer bids perhaps turning his head, but I would argue since then he’s actually improved his all round game, providing assists as well as goals. His recent performance against Antwerp just goes to show how far he’s come.

  4. I think the stats of some of the Rangers players should be re-evaluated. I would suggest these players need to be looked at:

James Tavernier - He has been immense all season and has showed huge improvement in his defensive ability, his tackling and marking seem too low. Also his Jumping reach and Heading are low for a player who is getting in to the box and winning headers/scoring goals.

Connor Goldson - He has also been brilliant this season with his range of passing and threat at set pieces. His heading has improved as he is taking a lot more chances than in previous seasons.

Kemar Roofe - His goal scoring record has been very impressive as has his control  of the ball. Looking at some of his goals I feel 13 finishing and 12 long shots is very harsh. 13 First touch doesn’t do him justice either.

Glen Kamara - The way he has controlled the midfield in most of the games rangers have played has been brilliant. I feel his mental attributes such as composure, decisions and work rate are too low. I also think 4 bravery is harsh.

Nathan Patterson - This is based on the little bits seen this season but I think he needs a boost in his CA, he’s Rangers 2nd choice RB and I feel Gerrard has shown trust in him by not signing someone more experienced. When he’s played you can see the player as good ability on the ball and a decent crossing ability.

  5. I feel that on a general level the Rangers and Celtic squads are underrated, perhaps its because I'm passionate about Scottish football. If you look at Rangers performances against Portuguese teams in the last 2 years they've won 3 drawn 2 yet the Portuguese teams seem on the surface to be so much better, granted I don't have access to the CA's so my point may be inaccurate. In the same conversation Celtic beat Lazio twice season, they may be doing much worse this season but I believe that's poor form rather than lack of ability. I don't mean to moan but its just my personal thoughts.

I'd disagree I'd suggest 16 for crossing for tav and probably a reduction for hagi.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find two people in the country who cross more than the rangers full backs. I'm sure somebody could make a compilation of the poor ones. But just as equally could get a host of the good ones. I don't think tav is at the same level as BB in terms of his delivery. But I also think better than Hagi. These stats could be adjusted elsewhere. But we are talking about a lad here who's joint top scorer and top assists in the league from right back at present.

I suspect on current form some changes defensively across the board for rangers in update that I know won't be applicable at present. But as others have hinted usually tavs issues defensively come from him being forward and thus out of position for counters...  But something you can see from Europa League games and especially the game against Celtic he's improving on. But again this is very hard because any noticeable upgrades would put him in England call up category which although possible in real life would be unlikely.

I haven't had a full look over Scottish players. But respect our discussions every year so I'll likely be back in a few days. But seen these comments regarding tav and wanted to put my two cents in.

I agree with you on the point that Tavernier probably won’t get into the England squad so he shouldn’t have an ability that would get him there, but when you look at England’s current right backs it isn’t surprising he can’t get in, I don’t have access to the editor so I can’t tell how high his current ability is now but I guess it is significantly lower than current England right backs.

  7. A few issues with Rangers;

Cedric Itten can play right wing and did so against Kilmarnock this season.

Leon Baloguns overall ability seems low in comparison to is role within the Rangers team in real life.

As previously mentioned James Tavernier’s defensive stats seem low, I would argue any problems he’s had aren’t due to his technical ability whilst defending, (i.e his tackling), rather that he is caught out of position due to him attacking so much. His jumping reach at 8 also seems low, his goal against Galatasaray shows just how high in the air he can reach through his jump. His crossing also seems low compared to Hagi, Tavernier has shown for years that his crossing is one of his best attributes and I’d argue it’s on a level par with even Barasic’s.
