    * not enough breakdowns of play in midfield or on the edge of the area, far too many defenders putting it out for a corner instead of getting control of the ball etc.  Basically real games are much more in the midfield than any FM ME which sees too many attacks complete without mistake or interception.

    Thank you! This is the clearest explenation of what i rant about since last patch.

    I'll add, that there are still a lot of pretty high score, even with a duller game. So it didn't even fix the problem... I, personaly, would love to get back to the beta engine. But, i can not have this option.

    A shame though. Other games offer an option (Crusader Kings 3, for ex) to choose your version. I initially wasn't planning on buying this edition, but the ME from the beta convinced me to change my mind. Then, december update came and kill my fun, i feel cheated a little bit.

  3. Title says it all. I would like to downgrade to a previous version of the game, say 24.1.1 or earlier. Main reason: original ME used to be fun, no it's boring. Is there any way to do it?

     

    PS: i'm very happy you're having fun with the current ME, but it's not the subject here.

    Honestly feel sorry for those who are forced to play on the latest M.E but then again I do not for  those who complained about too many high scoring games and acting like the m.e was unplayable. i'm still on 24.1.1 and having a blast the player movement fluidity and rhythm of the match is in sync with real football and actually feels like a new game. So many new things happen from game to game which leave me in awe. The latest M.E feels mechanical, robotic, lifeless and predictable like fm23 was. I played 2 seasons before reverting back so I know all it's flaws. That's what happens when you keep complaining about irrelevant things such as too high scores, things ended up getting nerfed and the entire M.E becomes sterilised

    How are you still on 24.1.1? I'm dreaming of a downgrade, any tips in how to do it?

    Not really convinced by this argument, no disrespect meant. It can be attributed to many other things (like high rep club have more top physical players). Tests from the community are not conclusive and it is consistent with players feedback. Plus there clearly seems to be a recent buff (12/12 update) to lone strikers, which was not clearly mentionned in the changelog.

    Fyi, the goalkeeper example needs clarification. 

    He's effectively a poacher putting the last touch on crosses. He's not making mazy runs or playing like Francesco Totti.

    The conclusion shouldn't be "attributes don't matter". 

    The conclusion should be that there are possibly some specific bugs around the AF, and perhaps pressing that need a look. 

    I'll upload some pkms for SI shortly, they've already been in touch asking for some so they can look into it.  

    Ok, so, strikers are broken. That is a big deal. It's an important part of the game and of the fun playing it. After all the transparency stance before beta, SI needs to acknowledge it and strive to fix it. I'm still asking: anyone have a beta build that we can use till it's patched? I stopped playing game, i want to play it still.

    Don't agree with that personally. I think it's mainly defending that has improved (but not enough). Less defenders walking alongside the ball carrier or running off to mark someone else... Better defending from corners and set pieces... 

    That is not what the ME is showing me. I still see lots of incoherent defensive beaviour. Lot of shot blocked also, or over the bar oof, or headless chicken run towards a still defender or free man behing ignored by offensive mids and mostly, good striker missing a lot.

     Honnestly, the beta engine was flawed, buggy, but fun. This one is different buggy, maybe less, but boring. The main problem was "too many goal scores". The way it was nerfed seem to be by systematic clumsyness and dumbness of attacking players. That take us back to previous editions. Not much of a gain here. I wasn't planning on buying this edition, but was convinced by the new ME... Then it was dumbed down. Feel cheated a little bit.

    What was the team? Who were they playing? Were the matches instantly simulated?

    I find it hard to take anything concrete from a test when the parameters are not disclosed.

    Those are great questions, should ask them overthere. Some of the parameters are disclosed though but this clearly is not a scientific experiment. What is mind buggling me still is the absence of inconsistent results, unless these are just lazilly made up, the defensive line, for exemple should not work at all like that. Team should completely crumble with a high intensit press, high line of engagement and a very low defensive line, shouldn't it?

    I had a look at the other experiments, this doesn't shine a great light on the ME... Line of defense does not seem to matter. Most of the tactical "buttons" neither... Gosh. This looks bad. Pressing, mentality and tempo are the only 3 variables that seem to have any effect.

  11. I first felt enthousiastic with the ME. Having played two seasons i now feel anoyed by it. It's  extremely repetitive. It's true that playing defensive-counter attack is a somewhat more viable option in this opus, but CP even with team that shouldn't be able to seems still very OP. The chaos in midflied turns to inconstency. The incesent hoof balls are getting tiresome. The defense is a mess. Even with a low block. In a high block the errors seem unnatural, as if a "price to pay" was forcefully intagrated. Playing from the back is not difficult, it's just stupidly bugged. Jack (WTS) said that it takes time to judge a ME. Time did not show me a very qualitative ME. I hope the launch version will be better, but my expectations are low.
