I like using inflated release clauses for that very reason, even in leagues that rarely use them. I always counter the first bid with the min. release fee and make it non-negotiable. Most clubs will back out but few will pay the actual release fee.
If the player gets upset - tough luck, you agreed to the fee when you got the wage increase and signed the contract.

When your club with insecure finances will refuse to pay for your licenses but will happily send other staff to get their badges.

World -> Club -> List, there will be a drop-down for most league apps by a player. Everton's is Neville Southall with 578 league appearances.
However, it only shows the top player for the club, rather than a list of top 5, etc.
It's also listed in under the player's section of your records.
Club info -> History -> Records

Lol I got £35m when I went up with Bristol City, that's with £6-7m left over from last season too
How do you like managing Bristol City? I took them over in 2028 in Championship and promoted to PL within 7 seasons. I'm finding that their owner, Stephen Lansdown, is one of my favorite chairmen I've had in the game.

It will depend on your performance and the board. The largest chunk of income are the TV rights (€100 million+) but the funds are paid over the course of the season, not in a lump sum. You can take a look at the projections in your finances section to get a better idea what your budgets will look like.

I had a similar experience jumping from CM 01/02 then FM 2007 and finally 2020. My advice would be to start with a much smaller team and in lower leagues. Dutch or Belgian second divisions are a great place to learn basics of managing a reasonably sized squad, staff and youth teams. The expectations are typically much more progressive and don’t require almost immediate success.
I’m having a much better time managing a large club now after really learning the ropes with smaller clubs first.

Anyone? Would it be as simple as deleting a few lines of code?

They are announced months ahead by your HOYD but actually come through the youth intake. Has your intake happened already?

I discovered a 15 year old playing for Sporting Lisbon once. Called Ronaldo or something ...
Iirc C. Ronaldo first appeared in CM 01/02 at 17.

Follow the current manager of Feyenoord. You’ll get notifications about sacking rumors, when he actually gets sacked or if he gets offers from other clubs.

Managed to get Limerick promoted. Finished 2nd to Drogheda, who were undefeated all season. I finished 3 points behind them. Defeated Finn Harps in the promotion series.
I now actually have a bit more money. 890K to spend on wages. A huge boost from the 30-odd thousand I had for the opening season in Div 1.
It has now ticked over to Jan 1 2020 in the game though, and it looks like semi-pro status of the club has not been upgraded, which is deflating.
Are you requesting professional status from the board?

I have seen at least 3 posts that were deleted without trace or notice that contained a transfer exploit in FM 2020 base game.
If you don’t like us reporting them, then the correct action would be to patch those exploits, not censor users.

It’s pretty telling that I posted an actual exploit in this thread and requested it patched by SI and staff deleted it without any explanation.
Shame. After spending $60 on a barely functioning FM 2020 on google Stadia and another $50 on Steam this is how SI and Sega treats its consumers.

I've decided to use my present DoF to negotiate any and all future contracts. The reason being that in my present save one of my top player's contract was due to expire at the end of the current season. When I tried to negotiate an renewal of his contract he would not accept anything less that being a star player and refused to accept anything less than about £260k per week. I didn't have a DoF so hired one and got him to negotiate the contract. The player then signed as a regular starter on £170k pw! To put things into context I don't think it's me as my reputation is world class, determination and man management are 20 and level of discipline is 22 (that's not a typo) and our relationship is very close.
I noticed that DOFs with a negotiation attribute of 20 are able to renew a contract with the same wage and bonuses as the player’s current contract, something I’m unable to do as a manager. Does anyone know if managers have a hidden negotiation attribute?

Yeah that was my concern. Beating teams purely because I have better players, nothing to do with tactics.
Can anyone recommend a mid-table team in a decent league with a decent squad?
Hmm I quite fancy the Dutch league actually! Surely I could find a mid-table team with some good, technically gifted players and go from there?
Could you recommend any teams?
Thanks for the replies!
Another benefit of the Dutch leagues are the lax rules. 12 subs named on the bench and if I recall correctly no player registrations or foreign player restrictions.

Having 2020 as my first FM game since 07 (have been primarily playing CM 01/02 over the years) starting with a big club was somewhat overwhelming. Managing large staff, reserves, finances, board expectations, contracts, training etc can be quite a task initially at a large club.
However, after starting a new save and spending a handful seasons in the Dutch 1st & 2nd tiers with SC Cambuur and Groningen, where the expectations were reasonable, stepping up to AC Milan and then Atletico was a smooth transition and felt like natural progression. My suggestion would be learning the game at a smaller club, but not necessarily in the very lowest divisions.

I thought Stadia should connect personal directory for games with google drive.
Etc : Google Drive > Folder Name Stadia > Game Name > Game Data. So it will be GDrive > Stadia > Sports Interactive>FM2020>Game Data
So this way Stadia will connect to Google Drive to read game data, so user can apply mod, packs, icon kit etc in this folder. And the this will drive Google Drive subscription too
Since your post, google has implemented the ability to download saves on Stadia, so having a folder directory structure is clearly possible. I hope that means that at some point we're able to modify the items you mention.

I don't bother with any of that, to be honest. I play as myself: so if I think we should win then I'll say so, if I think we've been sh*t first half then I'll says that too, and if I'm happy with how people performed in an 8-0 battering then I'll say that.
Not arsed about gaming the game - there's only me playing - so there's only me knows that I'm not very good.
I apply that rule to all of my gameplay - would I move to another country or go from coast to coast, or north to south in my own for an extra £50 a week? No. What would I do?
This save? I'm an amateur PE teacher at Swansea University ha. It's a slog like, I'm 4 seasons in, promoted through sheer fluke season 1 and then relegated absolutely deservedly season 2, season 3 back in league below I got that steam badge for going undefeated (30 game season, I drew 19, finished 4th or 5th I think), and this 4th season still using tactics I made myself - and some very fortunate recruitment that fit it perfectly - I've made my pikey little school team play exactly how I wanted them too and am 9 points clear with about 5 games to go.
Will I leave? f*ck yes, my career earnings page says 0.
Will the move I make be realistic? Yeah, has to be.
We're the only people that play our game, play it how you like
Not sure how your rambling reply is relevant to OPs topic.

I would like that back as well, as I believe it's missing in FM 2020. It's a fun little stat to access and SI should implement it in the next patch.

Here are my main drawbacks with Stadia version of FM -
- unable to download and apply any mods or skins.
- also unable to download tactics, so if you find a killer tactic you’d have to recreate it manually and hope that someone also includes the individual player instructions.
- unable to use “real name fix” as there aren’t any files to edit so Juve will remain Zebre etc.
- there are no pre-game editors, only the same in-game editor you can purchase for the Steam version.
- you’d also have to purchase another copy if you want to play it on Stadia.
- each of the updates came much later (sometimes weeks) after the Steam version.
Positives -
- it does run better (but not necessarily smoother) on Stadia. I have a good laptop with 1 gbps interned and while the steam version was snappier, Stadia FM won’t get bogged down many seasons down the line.
- super extended laptop battery life. Since playing FM on Stadia isn’t much different than browsing the internet with Chrome, I can play FM for 5+ hours on a full battery.
- flexibility of playing in anywhere just by logging into your Stadia account.
