Phil Jones agreeing to cancel his contract for nothing is definitely a bug worth raising.

The ability to sell for significant fees is supposed to get easier over time as teams recover from covid's financial impact.

Yes I understand that, I think they just overcooked it as there would still be some market for some of these players.  Not literally nothing for good Premiership midfielders like Henrique on modest wages

    Well it is Phil Jones...

When you offer to pay a player's wages it's only up to the end of their contract with you, if the player demands a 4 year deal at his new club but the contract with yours ends after two that's a whole lot of money on a "free" player when all is said and done.

I've had no problems offloading unwanted players. Often it ends up being a loan simply to free up wages but that's realistic. Loads of clubs get stuck with players that won't sell irl.

So what happened in the end with Phil Jones?

He agreed to mutually terminate his contract for £0, losing out on over £11M in wages.

He then joined New York RB on 15k a week.

    This is realistic?

For those struggling to sell, the ability to shift players in mine turned on like a light at the start of July '22.

  3. They seem to have got this horribly wrong and not achieved what they set out to do

Tried offering a few players like Bailly and Jones for free and even offered to pay all their wages and still couldn't find buyers.  Who wouldn't take free players with their wages paid?

Even after 2 seasons you can't get rid of anybody really, got a few out the door for low fees but not many.

  4. My Head of Youth Development was giving out deals for a long time.  Never had any problems and saved me a job when you're signing 50+ youngsters a year renewing them all the time.  First alarm bells were giving a Championship standard left back 300k a week then this one came along.  Don't get me wrong, he's pretty good but how much?!

    I removed those duties

  5. I don't think any amount is too much if you have the budget

He's scored over 400 goals for me whilst playing on the right mostly.  Nearly 300 in the league now.  At 34 this will be his last season as the physical stats are starting that FM freefall but until around 32 and a half they were still where they were at the start of the game.  So you are looking at 12 years + at his peak and even at 34 he would be the best player at most clubs

  6. Scored a lot of goals with 4-3-3 Kashmir.  I did use a TFF Fighter tactic away in harder games as this is definitely a little overboard against decent teams away attacking wise but if what makes the game good for you is giving out real beatings and you have a great side then give Kashmir a go.  The 2 defeats were a bit freakish.  A 5-4 away when leading 4-1 but went down to 9 men and arrogantly didn't change the tactic or even sub off the 3 forwards and a 2-1 away when I had 45 shots to their 4.
