  1. Hello.

    I have just bought FM24.

I am including a screen shot of a set up I am considering for my long term save. I am doing a rebuild of Luton. I would be grateful for some help, and any constructive feedback. Thank You.

As well as doing my re build. I want the save to be sustainable and for a balance in overall transfers, clubs biding for my players, newgens and the occasional season where a wildcard does well in Europe or something. Plus I want to find those hidden gems.

I am playing on a M2 MacBook Pro.

Although it says computer performance is 5 stars, I am not sure how it will run in 10-15 seasons time. I have read various comments on forums and they have said they have run similar set up fine on a decent laptop. I have never done a save with as many leagues loaded.

I have a varied selection of leagues on playable such as the top UK and top European leagues, Scandinavia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Russia, China, Australia, USA,  Japan, South Korea, Canada. Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, Mexico,South Africa, and a few more. The the rest on view only.

In custom set up I haven’t tick players based in nation or of nationality. Other boxes I ticked for each continent.

I only have detail level on the leagues I want stats for.

The issue I have sometimes had in previous editions is selling deadwood, and even more so loaning out players.  In previous editions I have sold my better older players to USA, Canada, Australia, Russia.

Various content creators advocate different set ups, some say only load the nation you are playing in and load players via custom set up. This seems ok if you are a top European team and you won’t have a problem selling your superstars and wonder kids.

But for a club like Luton or lower league save you would surely need a variety of leagues loaded.

Club reputation and player reputation are going to influence how much interest you get in a player, how much you can sell them for, loaning them out, as well as the pulling power to bring players in.

Which brings me on to my final point which I may get a bit of hate for.

But I would be curious as to how Sports Interactive score player and club reputation overall.

When I think of teams like Preston, Coventry, Bolton and Ipswich, these are famous teams with a rich history but haven’t been in the top flight in a long time.

I can only speak for Luton as I know their history. This isn’t a whinge, its an observation, and maybe if some one could feedback how clean history is scored.

I do think Luton has been unfairly scouted/scored in previous editions and a bit still in this one. Although the youth and training has had an upgrade. And club rep is slightly higher due to the promotion.

Although It has been 30 years since we have been in the top flight. We do have a rich history.

We have won the League Cup as well as runners up, won the Simod Cup and runners up, Been FA Finalists, as well as a good history in the FA cup.

We took 30,000 fans to Wembley when we won the Football League Trophy.

We have a long history of producing talent.

Finally the Kenny has always been a fortress. Teams just don’t like playing there. I’m old enough to remember watching us on the plastic pitch, opposition can’t use that excuse anymore ! And we sure had a great team back then as well.

The likes of Dan Potts, Reece Burke, Cauley Woodrow were England youth. Cauley Woodrow has some previous Premier league experience as well as in Championship with Fulham. Their player rep seems a little low in my opinion.

I did sell Adebayo for £40 Million to Man Utd in the last edition. I had teams fighting over him.

I may get some hate for this last segment, but hopefully I will get more constructive feedback.

The point I am trying to make is how club/player rep is scored. I am curious on other peoples thoughts on club/Player rep and selling and loaning out players.

    Thank You.

  2. Hello. I have an u18s which has a full squad and plays competitively in a league. I also have an u21s which doesn’t play in a league. I have to arrange friendlies and choose what players will play in order to stay match fit or or build up fitness after an injury.

The u21 squad has about half a dozen players that were mo ed on from the u18s, plus whatever 1st team players I select in order to keep match fit.

It seems like a waste of resources and money to have an u21 team (especially one that isn’t even competitive) as I’m not a big club and I need to save money where I can. All my promising 18-20 years old years old  players either got loaned out or I gave them game time in my 1st team, if need be I arrange 1st team friendlies.
Is it possible to scrap the u21s within the game, or is it a case of letting the u21 coaching staff go ?
I am coming to the end of the season.
    Thanks

  3. Hello. I want to create a custom domestic/friendly knockout format cup for English teams in my region.  I would like the same teams to participate every year.I’ve  more or less worked out how to do a knock out cup for European/international club teams. But I want to do one for just teams that are local to me. They are all in the database.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  4. Is there actually any benefit to adding players based in nation and player of nationality ? How do you ensure you get loads of regens, even from obscure places. You hear of people loading every player and not loading leagues to do a wonder kid save. How do you make sure you don't miss out on that wonder kid half way during a save ?

How would it be best to set up a save if you're staying at one club and building it up.

I want to start from the championship and build it into a European power force.

Im on a decent 5/6 year old Mac Book Pro.

I would like the game to run at a decent speed but also have a sustainable champions league and also that the south American clubs don't get left behind on the wold stage.

    Thanks.

  5. Hello. I’m returning to football manager on FM21.

is there a way to turn off the daily news feed as the day ticks over. I keep getting news about other teams and players. Transfers, job changes, and players in talks etc. I want to turn that off.

Also how do you turn off/reduce the social news.
im sure I did these before but it’s been a while since I set up game up.

    Thanks

  6. Hello. I’m trying to add and remove leagues in an ongoing game. It doesn’t seem to work properly. I change what leagues I want playable and league only and then click confirm. The. later on I go back to the add and remove leagues to check and its switched back to previous settings. Is this a bug ? Any suggestions how to fix it or add/remove leagues. Thanks.

  7. Hello. In FM 21. Is it possible to use The Pre Game Editor to alter the amount of staff allowed when starting a game. I want to start a new game with a smaller championship team, but at the start of the game the Board won’t allow many staff.
Also can I change the stadium size and fan base size ?

is there a way to make sure all this is verified with steam so when I start a new game all this works.
    thanks.

  8. Hello. My football club doesn't have an u23 team so I created one for my save. However I now need to place the team in an under 23 league. I want to place them in the u23 division 3 south and see if they will progress from there. How do I add them to the league and do I need to take another team out ? I also want to add them to the u23 cup structure as well if there is one. Also is it possible to be involved in their day to day coaching as well as managing the first team ?

Either that or I was thinking to have a B team and place them in the Isthmian south league if this is possible ? Again would would I have to remove a club.

    Thanks.

  9. I've created some new players, but I've noticed they all have the same Unique ID. Every time I go to create a new player in the Pre Game Editor it just creates the Same Unique ID. Is there something I should be doing to generate a new Unique ID each time ? Once I've finished creating a new player do  I reset the game database to then create another new player. Do you just 'remove them and then reload database and apply undeleted changes' ?

    Thanks

You can make as many players as you want in one database.  And for the last question, you can even transform the world into your shape... but as you are new, start with small task, like create a club, place in a nation you want.  Then maybe create a nation from scratch, modify a big nation, but before try to read everything you can.  You can start easy with the basic rules, once you grabs all the knowledge you can, then move to the advance rules (that's a new universe in editing).  Your imagination, and some harcoded rules, are your limits.

Thanks for your reply, some helpful tips, much appreciated. I've created a few new players, replicating a few favourite players of the past. I noticed they have the same player ID but different random ID. Is this normal ? Every time I go to create a new player it has the same player ID number .

  11. Hello I'm new to Football Manager

I've been experimenting with creating new players in the Pre Game Editor.

Once I've created a player where should I save in on a Mac ?, to make sure it's saved in the right place and my files are organised properly.

One of my editor data files had 3 players (that I created) in it when I re loaded it in the editor.

once I've created a player and saved it, what should I do before creating another player ?

    Thanks
