  1. Regarding Liverpool.

    1. Is there any particular reason for why Salah's Consistency was lowered to 13? If anything, given his fantastic form and the fact that he's the league's top goalscorer again he should have his Consistency increased, it was 15 in the previous database. He also had his Strength & Composure lowered a little bit, I won't argue with that, I thought they were slightly off anyway, but it's now finally the time to acknowledge what a great penalty taker he is. I already mentioned that after Beta release but his penalty taking record is insane and it's still going:

    https://www.transfermarkt.com/mohamed-salah/elfmetertore/spieler/148455

    And even Guardiola acknowledges it: "We don't have specialists in this area like Salah is"

    https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mancity-penalties-gundogan-debruyne-aguero-19790473

    Suggestion: Consistency 13->16; Technique: 16->17; Penalties: 15->17

    2. Robertson has so far been the player of the season for Liverpool alongside Salah despite the fact that as a team they've been struggling (although pretty much any reasonable person understands the main reason behind their struggles as a team). When I see someone like Bernardo Silva have 20 Work Rate whilst Robertson only has 17 it makes me chuckle internally a little bit (nothing against Silva btw, just using him as comparison).

    He started every single Premier League game for Liverpool this season, and was only substituted once on the 85th minute against City.

    https://www.transfermarkt.com/andrew-robertson/leistungsdaten/spieler/234803

    He's put in at least 7/10 performance in most games for Liverpool this season and has never fallen below 5/10. He's the defender with most Big Chances Created (8) in PL and also has more key passes than any defender apart from Luke Shaw.

    https://www.kickest.it/en/premier-league/stats/players/key-passes/2020-2021

    Suggestion: Stamina 17->18; Work Rate 17->18; Determination 15->17

    3. Trent's Natural Fitness decreased from 16 to 15? Why was it done?

    Good job on decreasing his defensive attributes though, it's been a long time coming.

    4. Alisson's Natural Fitness was decreased from 18 to 15 and it makes little sense to me because his biggest issue in the last two seasons has not been "being fit" but rather "staying fit". If anything his Injury proneness should be increased, but it looks like it's already been done. Whenever he returns from a short-term injury though it's like he never left - sharp and steady, agility and pace on check as well as reflexes.

    5. Matip's Natural Fitness shouldn't be decreased to 13 - same reasoning as for Alisson but to a lesser extent. There really should be an attribute called Natural Sharpness, it would really go a long way of helping to separate players who can withstand periods of regular 90 minute matches to those who are good at becoming sharp quickly after coming back from an injury.

    6. Thiago - poor Thiago, man, his style of football really does not fit Liverpool at all. His tackling & positioning are just not good enough to work under Klopp's system. That also results in a ridiculous number of fouls and yellow cards.

    https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/liverpools-thiago-is-a-foul-machine-how-the-midfield-maestro-became-the-premier-leagues-leading-hacker/

    Suggestion: Dirtiness 8->13; Positioning 14->12; Tackling 13->11

    Apart from those everything seems fine to me.

    @ClarkKent1 Thanks for the effort in your post again. Please note that +1/-1 won't make any noticeable difference within the game. Some of your attributes are slightly wrong (due to where you are in your Lazio save). You've put all this great effort in to Liverpool, yet you're playing with Lazio :D

    Milner - I agree with Fitness increase to 19, Composure increase to 16 with Dribbling down to 12 (now if poss but certainly for next update)

    Thiago - Stated previously that I thought a number of his attributes/CA could be higher, however the Bayern researcher has seen him far more than I have and after 2 games for us I can't justify any changes until the Winter update.

    Salah - I believe that combined with other attributes for penalty success he's ok at the moment

    Matip - ok with him now, its hard to judge his consistency when he's injured so much mind

    Jota - too early at the moment to consider a PA increase, he's had a small CA increase though

    I'm waiting for the full release to start my Liverpool save :)

  3. Bear in mind, I'm currently in February on my Lazio save so some of these attributes might have changed in any direction, apologies if I got any of them wrong.

    James Milner

    Claim: Natural Fitness 18->19; Stamina 16->18; Composure 14->16; Acceleration 11->10; Dribbling 12->11.

    Proof: It wouldn't be a surprise to anyone who's been following Liverpool videos on YT to find out that he wins the lactate test for fitness every single pre-season - https://talksport.com/football/569658/liverpool-james-milner-wins-fitness-test/

    And according to TAA he's still the most fit player at Liverpool - https://www.kingfut.com/2020/11/14/trent-alexander-arnold-chooses-salah-to-complete-ideal-player/

    Jurgen Klopp even said himself 2 years ago that Milner can play until he's 38 - https://www.eurosport.com/football/milner-can-play-until-he-is-38-says-liverpool-boss-klopp_sto6899663/story.shtml

    Considering Henderson has 18 for Stamina (deservedly so) then so should Milner, however Milner's Natural Fitness should be slightly higher (19 to Hendo's 18) considering his age to ability ratio.

    Milner's composure should also see improvement. 14 is by no means bad but it doesn't highlight how calm and collected Milner is a player. Just look at his penalty record - https://www.transfermarkt.com/james-milner/elfmetertore/spieler/3333

    He hasn't missed a single one since 2017. Which is replicated by his 17 penalty taking, of course, but even great penalty takers like Jorginho can sometimes miss purely because of lack of composure. Milner doesn't.

    And if that proof isn't enough, just look at his stats for "Errors leading to goals" - https://www.premierleague.com/players/2100/James-Milner/stats

    In his 544 appearances and despite the fact that a lot of those appearances were as either left or right-back he only made 2 mistakes leading to goal in his entire career that spans more than 16 years now. It's incredibly impressive.

    However, age comes at a cost, and I would argue that 11 acceleration is a bit too generous. His top speed is still decent, but in the last two seasons it's become clear that he is struggling to consistently man-mark fast PL forwards like Aubameyang & Traore (who are really quick off their mark) without fouling them.

    It's also been a while since I saw Millie beat a man by dribbling past him, so maybe downgrade his dribbling a bit, at the very least to offset some of these upgrades I suggested.

    Thiago Alcantara

    (I'm going to link sources separately for this player)

    Claim: Consistency & Important Matches (?)->14; Teamwork 10->12; Determination 11->14; Natural Fitness 11->14; Technique 17->19; Passing 17->18; Decisions 13->15; Acceleration 14->15; Agility 17->18

    Proof: Although I understand that it's very hard for a Research Team to make any changes after he has only made 2 appearances for Liverpool this season, Thiago has consistently been put on lists of top3/top5 midfielders in the world by fans and pundits alike, and there's a good reason for that. So even though there isn't a lot of information to go off based on those 2 appearances, there's a whole Bundesliga & Champions League campaign from Bayern last season, where he was the absolute key to their success. A lot of his attributes, however, including some hidden ones do him a massive injustice, and do not reflect what a brilliant player he is.

    Consistency - I may be wrong but he had 10 consistency in FM20 and it does seem it's the same in FM21, which sounds awfully low for a top5 midfielder in the world who performs on a consistent basis.

    Important Matches - again, I'm not sure of the exact number but if his record last season is anything to go by it should be in the region of 14-15.

    Teamwork - this is pretty straightforward. Klopp would never buy a player who doesn't perform for the team, because gegenpressing is all about team effort, and considering Thiago's defensive contribution (1.9 interceptions & 1.9 tackles in Bundesliga last season) 10 teamwork seems very low.

    Determination - a player who gets injured so many times and performs every single time he comes back should have his determination in the region of 17-20, but since there isn't actually enough proof to go off, 14 will do unless somebody else wants to make an argument for more.

    Natural Fitness - he played 4 games straight in the space of 2 weeks in Bayern's CL campaign back in August, starting every time and averaging 82 minutes per game. A player with 11 Natural Fitness would not be able to play even for 3 games straight, let alone get MOTM twice in such important & high intensity games. His record also shows that whenever he's fit he rarely starts on the bench which means that it's not a problem for him to be back to his best in almost no-time.

    Technique - it looks like an oversight, because he had 19 technique in FM20, and he has done a lot over the last year to suggest that it's completely justified. That change should be reversed.

    Passing - same as the above. 18 was what he had in FM20. In CL last season he averaged 1.5 key passes per game & 91% passing accuracy, so 18 is just right.

    Decisions, Acceleration & Agility - these are the attributes that are so crucial in making him as dangerous as he is. His ability to resist press by dodging an opponent running at him and immediately making a beautiful & accurate forward pass is almost Messi-esque. There are countless of YouTube videos proving that, but just watch his performance against Everton this season and it becomes evidently clear.

    The man has only two weaknesses - his bad injury record and his occasional lack of concentration (both of which are well reflected in-game already).

    I understand that it's a lot of attributes to upgrade without downgrading any to compensate, but hopefully after you look through the sources you will see all those upgrades are both justified & necessary to replicate the real life.

    Mohamed Salah

    Claim: Penalty Taking 15->16

    Proof: Second best penalty-taker after Milner in Liverpool, and lately it seems like he's also a designated penalty-taker even when Milner is on the pitch. Oh, and he also hasn't missed a single penalty since 2017 (he missed 2 for Egypt in 2018 in the same game which was a 6-0 win so I'm going to assume it wasn't even relevant whether he'd miss or not) - https://www.transfermarkt.com/mohamed-salah/elfmetertore/spieler/148455

    Joel Matip

    Should perhaps consider upping his Consistency & Important Matches a bit. The man is a walking injury but whenever he's on the pitch he performs, even outshining VVD on occasion.

    Diogo Jota

    Should perhaps have his PA upped a little after his performances for Liverpool & Portugal this season?

    Honestly, though, I haven't noticed much else that needs updating apart from these players and the ones in my previous post, so overall I'd really like to thank you for the job that you guys did.

    @ClarkKent1 Thank you for following the process highlighted from the first post of the thread.

    Premier League winners in Achievements should be in the final iteration of the DB upon final release of game.

    Allison Becker - although on first glance the data supplied is up to three years old, the stats are really interesting thank you. So I'd like to view current data - is that available please? It covers his time in Italy as opposed to England whereby the style of goalkeeping may differ too. For instance, punching is not a trait I've seen him perform at Liverpool and would seem more prevalent in Italy. Plus the dominance of Liverpool's play means that he is not easy to gauge as his 'goalkeeping' involvement is usually minimal during games (ie SOTs). Jumping Reach regards highest point for heading btw. Although it'd be great to increase attributes, apart from Reflexes being reduced, where else do you propose offsetting increases? Although a +1/-1 won't make any noticeable difference in game, I will look at reducing Reflexes and Increasing Positioning and Aerial Reach if possible.

    VVD - 17 is very high for Natural Fitness but will look for a small increase thanks.

    Fabinho - in the DB his preferred position is DM.  In my save it is DM. That does sound like a bug, whereabouts in your save does this appear please?

    TAA - don't appreciate grandiose comments (I'm not exactly sure why and how somebody on researchers teams decided...). I'm happy with his Acceleration, its his Pace I to and fro with - he seems alright when attacking but when tracking back he doesn't seem that fast. It has been documented that the top 4 fastest players for us are Mane, Salah, Gomez and VVD which in game is different to flat out racing. So the article is slightly misleading in that is has TAA faster than Mo and Mo and Bobby are the same. How do you differentiate Pace with Mo/Sadio fastest over a short distance and VVD/Joe better over longer distances? Neco used to be a fast out and out winger, I've seen him and he does have pace (I've not seen these reports you refer to). You've suggested Attribute increases but no offsetting decreases? Fair point on Natural Fitness though.

    Alisson - I wish I had access to more of the current data but the best I could find in public domain is this. As you can see both Alisson and Donnarumma have won 0.2 of their aerial duels, except I'm not 100% positive that it refers to headers won or claims of the ball in the air. I wouldn't personally look at it as a proof my original claim. I believe reducing Reflexes and increasing Aerial Reach & Positioning is the way to go, however.

    EEiMG1O.png

    Fabinho - this is screen I get when clicking on his profile. Seeing as how I'm the only one on this thread who gets it, this must be a bug.

    XimB3Ek.png

    TAA - I believe him not tracking back as much as his counter-part on the other flank Andrew Robertson does is reflected very well by their differences in Work Rate & Stamina, as well as to some extent Marking & Positioning.

    Improving Trent's pace to 14 or 15, in that case, can be offset by decreasing his Work Rate from 15 to 14, since his Marking, Positioning & Stamina are already 14 or lower.

  5. LIVERPOOL

    Their achievement of winning a Premier League isn't registered on Career milestones page. This is an example of VVD but it's the same for every single player who had 5+ appearances for Liverpool last season & Jurgen Klopp too.

    aKkRklZ.png

    PLAYERS

    1. Alisson Becker

    Claim:

    Jumping Reach 13->15;

    Aerial Reach 14->16;

    Handling 16->17;

    Reflexes 18->17;

    Positioning 17->18

    Proof:

    https://anfieldindex.com/35499/alisson-becker-a-statistical-analysis.html

    According to AIUnderPressure Alisson has 3.2 Claims & Punches p90 @99.2%, which is higher than Donnarumma (3.4 @98.7%), and yet Donnarumma has 18 Jumping Reach & 16 Aerial Reach.

    The improvement is also needed for his Handling as according to Infogol you can see that although his reflexes weren't always there to save big chances (hence the need to reduce Reflexes slightly) his positioning for smaller chances and his ability to handle the ball under pressure were exquisite.

    2. Virgil van Dijk

    Claim:

    Natural Fitness 17->20

    Proof:

    https://www.whoscored.com/Players/95408/History/Virgil-van-Dijk

    https://www.transfermarkt.com/virgil-van-dijk/leistungsdaten/spieler/139208/plus/0?saison=2018

    According to both WhoScored & Transfermarkt Virgil van Dijk has played every single minute of every single Premier League & Champions League game of both Season 18/19 & Season 19/20. He has done so without getting injured, fatigued, tired or losing any of his ability or consistency and the only reason he will not be able to repeat this feat this season was because he got injured after being on a receiving end of an incredibly nasty tackle. He is as naturally fit as they come, his body shape is on another level, his level athleticism is just as freakish as Ronaldo's, and that fact is supported by his injury's analysis in this video by a sports med expert:

    3. Fabinho

    Claim:

    Fabinho's natural position is CDM yet when clicking on his profile in-game it suggests that his natural position is right-back. I'm sure it's just a bug and should be easily fixed.

    Proof:

    https://www.transfermarkt.com/fabinho/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/225693/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=

    Played every single game he participated in last season as a defensive midfielder.

    4. Trent-Alexander Arnold

    Claim:

    Acceleration 14->15;

    Pace 13->15;

    Natural Fitness 14->16

    Proof:

    https://liverpoollatestnews.com/top-5-fastest-liverpool-players-132405/

    https://www.transfermarkt.com/trent-alexander-arnold/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/314353/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=

    I'm not exactly sure why and how somebody on researchers teams decided to downgrade his pace so much because he's actually incredibly quick even by Liverpool's standards who have such quick players as VVD, Mane & Salah. Even Neco Williams in-game has more pace than him (Acc 14; Pace 15) which is strange considering that Neco has been criticized a lot specifically for the lack of speed compared to TAA.

    His Natural Fitness should also be improved. He has played in every single Premier League game last season averaging 83.6 minutes on the pitch in each game meaning that even if he was subbed off it happened very rarely.

    I'm sure there is more with other Liverpool players but I'll take a look at them tomorrow.
