  1. A striker with 'hold up ball' PI, or a F9. Recently I'm trying to make a possession based 4-3-3 work with an AF/Poacher, and it's proving to be quite a challenge achieving the most balanced setup.
  2. That's been a thing for a few editions, and it's very frustrating. Teams on cautious can keep the ball too easily, I don't think realistically a player like this should be getting 102 passes with a 96% completion rate, especially when facing a good team that's pressing high... What do you do when facing these situations? Passmap example My tactics
  3. Same thing for the width setting. On positive mentality, the description says 'fairly wide' if you leave the slider untouched. If you increase it by 1, it still says fairly wide. No idea if it makes an actual difference, hopefully SI clarifies things here
  4. I think wide players should affect AMC's, like if you set an inside forward/inverted winger to sit narrower, the AMC would shift to the other side.
  5. This is so annoying... Edit: played 2 more matches, conceded a throw in goal in each of them Football Manager 2024 2023-12-18 14-29-15.mp4
  6. Anyone still feels set piece goals are excessive? Specially from throw-ins... So frustrating
  7. First match after new patch: 4-1 win, with 3 goals from attacking throw-ins lol. Btw I'm not saying the patch didn't work, it's just funny
  8. Results are decent but the football isn't pretty, not many chances created etc. Having some trouble progressing the ball up the pitch, sometimes the CB's get 90+ passes in a game. My plan was to get both AMC's to move into channels and kind of make a box with the 2 DM's but that clearly isn't working
  9. For those running the 5-2-2-1, note that, because of the new positional play features, the SV will push the AMCR to the middle of the pitch making a trident behind the striker I tried really hard to come up with a good 5-2-3 but nothing would work :[
  10. I was so excited for this feature and it's... just not a thing at all. Lesson learned I guess, that was the first and last time I preorder
  11. I signed him for free in Jan 2025 in the German 2nd league lmao
  12. I'd like to see what routines my coach developed when delegating all tasks to him. But when that is the case, this is all we can see when going to the set pieces tab.
  13. I'm using Andrew Robertson as an IFB and he does it sometimes - rarely, though. I'm mentioning him because he has the 'Gets forward whenever possible' trait. Maybe you could up the frequency by using overlap and PI's like cross more often and cross from the byline
  14. Inverted wing-back. Trying to mimmick the way Liverpool play IRL, with Trent in the middle. In 10 matches, Salah has 6 goals and 1 assist, and Szoboszlai has 6 goals and 7 assists in 9 matches. Box-to-box midfielder is one of the roles that trigger rotations in the new match engine. Meaning it goes further up the pitch in order to give space to an inverting wing-back
  15. Both roles(CM-A and IF-A) focus on attacking space, so that might be the cause of your problems. I personally really enjoy the MEZ-S and Winger(A) combo, it's been great with Szoboszlai and Salah for me. Maybe the reason it didn't work well with you was Ben White as a WB-S? Since the winger is touching the touchline, the wingback going forward might force him inside onto the mezzala's space.
  16. On FM? Like it a lot. Hate it in real life, calendar is already overloaded as is, if anything the number of games should be reduced
  17. You guys did a banging job, these changes alone made me buy this year's edition
  18. What do you think of this season's Liverpool? I'd go with: IW(A) - PF(A) - IW(A) MEZ(S) Szoboszlai role? DM(S)/DLP(S) FB(S) - BPD - BPD - IWB(S) SK(S) I have no idea what is Szobo's role, he's just everywhere lol
