I am having the an issue with wage negotiations- for example, when I offer a free player i.e. in this case Caleb Ekuban, he will initially request £1k then I will respond with £800, and his agent will raise to massive amounts (around what I expect the max of what they would want from a big club or towards the start of the window). Essentially what I can see happening is that the player is due to a number of factors willing to take a lower wage (club reputation, time spent without a club, lack of interest, window closing etc.) but when you offer anything the requested amount the player/agent will send a ultimatum with the max amount. To do a step by step just offer a high reputation player Caleb Ekuban is the one I most recently tried it with- and try to negotiate a slightly lower contract. You can try it with any high rep player as he is not willing to negotiate atm.
