  1. I used Mez(s)-IW(s) combo with a IWB(s) behind in FM21. Usually the IW will cut inside and Mez will take the vacant space outside. I'm trying to do it again in FM24 but not seeing anything like that at the moment. Back in FM21, I managed Perak FC in Liga Super Malaysia which has lower quality players (but the Mez who usually make outside run has high OTB) than Port Vale in League One which I'm currently playing. So OTB can be a reason for that. Edit: This just happened, although this is during transition, we won the the ball back, Mighten #11 is the IW, Gore #44 is the Mez and Sang #4 is the IWB. IW win the ball in the middle, Mez ran to the wide channel and IW pass the ball to him.
  2. From what I tested (at least for FM21), goal bonus and assist bonus depends on which unit the player plays. For example, I set the wage for Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero to 1000 annually and goal bonus of 1000. I found out however that Aguero's salary commitment is 3100 while De Bruyne and Sterling is only 2300. From which I calculated it as: salary commitment = wage + goal bonus * 1.3 (for midfielders) salary commitment = wage + goal bonus * 2.1 (for strikers) But if I gave them the same bonus for assist, the situation will be reversed. salary commitment = wage + assist bonus * 2.1 (for midfielders) salary commitment = wage + assist bonus * 1.3 (for strikers) When both assist and goal bonuses is given, they both will have salary commitment of 4400. (I tested with Ilkay Gundogan and got the same result) Then I do the same for Ruben Dias and Ederson. As both of them are in defense unit, their salary commitment is still 1000 which is the same as the wage meaning their goal and assist bonuses are not counted in salary commitment. Doing the same for clean sheet bonus however will get a different result, as all four players will get salary commitment of 2300. From which I calculated as below salary commitment = wage + clean sheet bonus * 1.3 Setting appearance fee and unused substitution fee to 1000, I will get as follow salary commitment with appearance fee = 6250 hence, salary commitment = wage + appearance fee * 5.25 while salary commitment with unused substitution fee = 48000 so, salary commitment = wage + unused substitution fee * 47 Applying the same wage, appearance fee and unused substitution fee to Eric Garcia (breakthrough prospect) and Mikki Van Sas (youngster), salary commitment will be the same as Ruben Dias, Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, Ederson, Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan. But applying the formula I made, I'm supposed to get 52250 but instead, the salary commitment is 53000. Using the formula on existing contract won't get the exact number, for example, calculating Riyad Mahrez, Salary commitment = 8320000 + 15000 * 5.25 + 25000 *1.3 + 24000 * 2.1 + 8000 * 47 = 8857650 But instead, This discrepancy is small but doing the same to Fernandinho, I will get an even bigger discrepancy. Hope someone can give an accurate breakdown on salary commitment.
  3. If there's still no answer, I did some table. Out of 26 games. This may not be accurate as there are some players who came in after the season started so they may not be available for all 26 matches, will do it from the start of the season if I can remember. Cheers.
  4. I praise Jensen for his training performance but after praising, other player chosen instead of Jensen
  5. Adding one more, the player had come back from injury Looking at his medical window, he should be injury free at the moment But in individual training, I can have him general rehab which should not be possible if he's not injured.
  6. I have spent a lot of time playing FM21, but recently, I bought FM24. Unfortunately I have not spent as much time playing as I hope. One of the reasons is due to this. I am not able to view any youth player in the senior team individual training window. Previously on FM21, I can control the youth team and the reserve team individual training in the same window as the senior team. FM21 individual training. FM24 individual training. When you filter in youth team, they'll appear in the FM21 but not in the FM24. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a change between FM21 and FM24, I hope I can get clarification on this.
  7. Have been playing other games for the past few weeks and when I come back to FM, I had the same question. Thank you for this post. And thank you for your answer.
  8. Mezzala will occupy the half spaces, so I don't think he will occupy somewhere in the middle. CM-A should be able to do that.
  9. I believe that IWB moves depend on the winger. If the winger occupies the flank, then the IWB will sit narrow but if the winger cut inside and stays narrow, the IWB will go wide.
  10. I think it won't change much of the space behind for the AF to run into, hence why he suggested mid block. If you change mentality while still having high press, there's still not enough space behind the defensive line.
  11. What roles in the game can be considered as hybrid? I can think of CB-Libero, FB-Inverted Wingback, DM-Half Back, CM-Mezzala and ST-False Nine
  12. As suggested here, I think Mezzala would work better, he's higher when in possession, and will still drop back when defending (support role). Wingers are still the go to if you want your wingers to provide the width, IF and IW will go to the half spaces earlier which would stop IWB from inverting.
  13. Low composure, decision, concentration, teamwork. I played a lot with lower league teams, the first few games, I'll have my CBs going long lot of time, but after that, they're able to play short passes. You can test it with a different save to see if they improve by time.
  14. Most team's able to play through my pressing. Will give this a try though. Thank you. This is a problem I encounter as well when trying to build an attacking 5 from 4-4-2. Good to see your progress and would like to see more.
  15. I too have been trying to press with cover shadows, cutting passing lane. Pushed MCs into AMCs to see if they'll cover the opposition midfield, but found no success there. In regards to the FBs pressing high, have you try playing with a back three instead? Push one of the FB into Defensive Winger. Force opposition to pass only to one side of the field?
  16. It's going to be lopsided with a space on the LB side and there's also space between the CBs. Tried it before although only on FM21. However, when I instructed the team to focus play on the flank, I'll get a back 3 with the IWBs near to the ball play higher and narrower while the other IWB take up the half space beside the CB. If the ball is in the center, I will still have only the CBs behind.
  17. [FM21] I'm currently playing in an South Asian league but there will be update saying this player is in contract negotiation with this club but they are clubs in Europe which I didn't add as active leagues. Does it effect my game speed in any way? If it does, can I stop it?
  18. Playing on FM21. I have IF-s and Mez-s on the same side. They occasionally swap position. IF cutting in, Mez going wide. So I believe you should be getting Mez going wide with your current tactic however, the player may need to have good off the ball attribute. IW and Mez may also do that, but IW is more creator than runner if compared to IF. What I can't get from FM21 is the third CB movement from a FB. Which I hope SI can just add one role for that in the future. CF is for me, the best choice if I want my striker to drop deep and still be on the scoresheet. DF and F9 tend to be too far from the goal.
  19. Consider having one of the full back to be inverted. At the very least, he'll be in a CM/DM position in possession. Play one of the winger as WP as he sits more in/around the hole(like an AP would). Wm(s) won't sit as narrow as a cm would so if you're hoping for him to protect the backline, he may not do it. As you're using chelsea, maybe you can play Hudson Odoi as traditional wingers. They're better than most wingback when it comes to 1v1 as the team/tactic is more possession oriented.
  20. I am playing FM21 at the moment when and I watch on comprehensive, key or extended highlights, players given a card is not shown. The ones not shown is usually players tripping the opponent but it's weird that none of the highlight shows it. At least, I think it should be included in the longest highlight.
  21. Hello. I hope you can add a role that can make the fullback play narrower much like a centerback (or occupying the half space). It would be good too if the role affect the centerback like how the half back role will split the two cbs wider (eg. narrow fullback pushing the cbs to the other side). At the moment, I'm playing on FM21 and the closest I can get is with FB-D and the far CB playing wider but the FB isn't occupying the half space, and the near CB aren't playing more centrally which make a big gap between the CBs.
