  1. First off:

    incredible skin.

I'm completely lost but I love it. :D

    Have a question, though:

is this skin at all feasible for an LLM-save?
I'm currently managing in the thirteenth english tier and since you stated that all data in the pizza chart is shown as a comparison to players in the top 20 leagues.... I wonder if the data I see is at all useful for me?

My players have an average attribute rating of 5-6, after all... :D

Yeah them along with Progres, Differdange, and Dudelange are the bigger clubs in the league in real life.

Now we've won the league a few times, it won't stop unless we have an injury crisis/a huge run of poor form/another team gets a tycoon takeover.

Swift Hesperange/Hesperingen are the club taken over by dubious "Sugar Daddy" Flavio Becca in 2019 after he stopped sinking his money into F91 Dudelange/Düdelingen (his former "toy").
Becca was heavily invested with german lower League side 1. FC Kaiserslautern, too.

So, basically Hesperange are in Luxembourg what PSG are in France (although the financial gap between them and the other clubs in the league isn't as huge as it is in France, admittedly.)

About the relegation and instant bounce-back:

Depending on the database you use such things are rather to be expected in Luxembourg.

Most clubs are semi-professional at best, in 2nd tier ("Eirepromotion") you may even find a couple pure amateur sides.

They rarely hand out "real" contracts but often resort to appearance fees and the like.

That means that a side may field an entire different First Eleven after every transfer period.

And since Hesperange has a lot of money (due to Becca if he's present in your database), they may just have signed tons of star players after their promotion....

    Regarding your save:

You keep impressing me, pretty much becoming THE dominant side in Luxembourg within just a couple of seasons.

    Congrats! :)

  3. Incredible!
Congrats for qualifying for the group stage.

I play a journeyman currently and managed in the luxembourgian top tier for 6 years, competing in europe in 5 of them. I nevermanaged to go further than to the playoffs for the ECL.

Massive achievement you have there! :)

  4. It's good to see someone play in Luxembourg.

Great save so far (from a FOLA fans' perspective: wrong club though :D ).

Will follow this one - good luck!

Derry is a difficult draw but surely not impossible to beat.

One word of advice - do not rush to become professional too soon.

Money is so very tight in Luxembourg that you could end up ruining the club that way.

    (Speaking from experience.... )

  5. Greetings,

probably a dumb question but I need to ask anyway:

I'm searching for the "increase scouting range" board request option in FM23.

I used this a lot in FM20 (I only recently switched from 20 to 23) since I always play LLM/journeyman saves.

Usually, you can start asking the board for increased scouting range once you turn professional.

But with FOLA Esch (Luxembourg) the option just doesn't show up in FM23.

The club is fully professional for more than a complete season now and I still can only assign scouts to Luxembourg (clubs, league, complete country), just as if I still was at a semi-professional club.

It's not game-breaking (since I like to concentrate on lux. players, anyway) but it bugs me that I can't find the option to increase the scouting range.

Infact I do not even find the "you are allowed to scout in..." information that I remember being shown somewhere in the scouting tab.

    So:

What am I doing wrong here?

I'm grateful for any hint, thanks in advance.

    EDIT:

    I found the answer myself.

As soon as I had a really really large scouting budget (several millionse) and chose the scouting package "worldwide", I could assign scouts to a recruitment focus outside the country my club is based in.

Apparently there is no such thing as a board request for an enlarged scouting range anymore.

Well, it said FM 20 what you sent. So i don't think it's playable.

Maybe this November there will be a level 20 league available.

What FM version are you playing?

That is a misunderstanding, I guess. You originally asked for lower league logos.

And the logos in the post I linked (the post by AhMostyn ) are perfectly compatible with FM23 (I verified this with a certain PL logo not included in the vanilla game ;)).
The league files by Dan from the starting post of that topic are not compatible, however.

I played FM20 up until April this year (due to an ongoing manager story in another forum) and then switched to FM23.

  7. There is a logo pack for the level 20+ league FM20 file of Dan BHTFC.
And since the club IDs haven't changed since FM20 you should be able to still use those logos.
EDIT: found it - there you go.

I used this logo pack in FM20 and I used it again im FM23 so I can confirm that it works.

You may have to adjust your logo config files. (I didn't use any other league files with Dans, no idea if using multiple league files at once is even possible with that gargantuan english pyramid.)

You can definitely add the logos manually to the existing config files, I tested that.

@AhMostyn Thank you very much for those logos, they made (and still make) Dans file so much more enjoyable for me.

    Thank you :)

Yes, it has been a very fast ride... Let´s hope it goes on like this :)

(Sorry for the serious typos - only realized it just now.

    Bloody automatic spelling correction.

That mess: "einningvtge" was meant to mean "winning the", for example :D)

I'm fairly sure you'll keep it up - Essen will be a wellknown team in european competitions, too.

  9. Hells!

I have to take a look into your thread more often it seems - what a run you are on!

Mit only managing to establish RWE as a top-half team in the Bundesliga ...

... but einningvtge DFB Pokal against fellow "Revier" Side (and top dogs) Dortmund is quite superb!

You've quickly turned Essen into a real force.

    Love it. :applause:

  10. I love how firmly you've established Forest in the PL!

Half a decade ago this wouldn't have been a very realistic scenario, given the state Nottingham was in back then, but you managed it.

    Great work so far.

Crossing fingers for you to win the ECL final and perhaps the FAC, too. (But with City being your opponent, that's quite the mountain to climb ...)

    Good luck! :)

  11. A month later ... :rolleyes::D

I simply have to necro this thread, though, since I'd like to add the following:

If you are semipro it's crucial to keep staff expenses as low as possible, so try to give your assistent manager a second job, as DOF or HOY for example. Okay one, get one for free. :brock:

Also, if no scout wants to work for you, try hiring ANY staff as scout, like a coach or data analyst.

Down below in the 10th tier (or below) you won't find experts anyway but have to rely on parttimers - which are often willing to work in a different job (and are halfdecent enough in several jobs, anyway ... judge player potential 5 is probably the best you get anyway, for example)

(In my Luxemburg save, 5th tier, I have hired 4 assistant coaches for the positions of ass man/HOY, scout, head scout/DOF and head physio.

If I hadn't done this, most positions were still vacant due to lack of available people. It's January, by the way... )

  12. I had such cases - players demanding this or that for signing a contract - several times.

Whatever I promised and whatever I did - I never was able to meet the players' expectations.

Promising to strengthen squad or staff always ended in serious drama.

And so ... nowadays I get them to sign a contract without any clauses or promises.

And if not I get another player, period.

Even if he is significantly weaker.

EVERYTHING is better than drama in the squad.

  13. Whoohoo!

    Congrats, great achievement!

(And sadly way better than RWE does in real life, just recently they had an aborted match in the Regionalliga, due to a "fan" throwing fireworks and injuring a player of the visiting team, they will most probably get points deducted and thereby missing promotion yet again :( )

    Anyway, good luck in Bundesliga!

I did a journeyman career once where I took RWE from fourth to first tier, too.

I was fired in the first season after losing the first 10 games straight, though.

Here's hope you'll do way better. :brock:

  14. I know I'm pretty late to the party but ...

... I still play FM20 (and will continue doing so for quite a while I suspect) and it took me until now to realize there's a TadTwenty skin without the attribute boxes. :seagull:

All links for the download are unfortunatly dead, so ... would any of you happen to have a working link to that skin variant?

(I do have - and use - the variant with boxes for two years already, it's by far my favourite skin.

Therefore I really "only" need the box-less TadTwenty Variant.)

    Thanks in advance! :)

  15. Hells, what a heartbreaking end to your 2nd PL season.

    Didn't expect that at all...

Even more frustrating to see so many crucial (and soon-to-be-crucial) players being bought.

It must feel like a kick to the nuts. :(

But there's alway light - in your case it's the fact you're not some irrelevant "franchise" like MK Dons or something.

    You are FOREST.

    And you will be back.

    Fingers crossed! :)

  16. Quite the progress here, wow!

Essen finally back in the 2. Bundesliga, I'm quite excited to see how you'll fare there.

Like your tactical approach but unfortunatly you posted only half of it. (Maybe I missed the other parts like player duties and TI's?)

If it's not too much of an extra effort, would you be so kind and post the ingame tactics screen so that we can have a look at the duties and TI's, too?

And of course good luck for the new season, it's about time that RWE knocks at the Bundesliga doors again.

(Looking forward to a proper "Pott Derby" against BVB)

  17. 13 points after 12 games - you're on a damn fine race, it seems.

Keeping it up like that until the end of the season would mean ...

    ...

    tadaaah! 41 points.:brock:

(Especially great to see you won against United!)

Oh and thank you for sharing those tactics - I wonder how everyone gets those defensive 4 4 2 setups working.

I always get battered when using any 4 4 2 variants.

But well, I'm on FM20 still where 4 2 3 1 or 4 1 4 1 Gegenpress apparently were the only ways to consistent success.

Anyway - your story continues to be a damn fine read, keep it up please. :)

  18. Told.

    You.

    So,

    Congratulations! :applause:

And now for some spoiler: next season you'll end with more than 40 points, the season after that you'll be in for a somewhat secure midtable finish (13th or 12th place).

For the third season my prophecies are yet a bit vague, but if I'm reading the signs correctly, Forest will go to the European Conference League.

    You don't believe me?

Just wait and you'll see! :D
