  1. Added note: AI also now, on FM24 picks a worse match day squad for the youth/reserve teams when it comes to this: They don't rotate as well as in earlier versions. AI keeps starting the same players although they are not on full condition. And, unlike earlier versions, they don't prefer players with low match sharpness in order to get/keep everybody reasonably sharp.

This also needs to be adressed. Get the AI match day squad picking back to the sensible, rotating style that it always had on earlier versions (when it comes to the youth/reserve teams).

  2. The picture doesn't seem to have been attached, try to post it here instead

Amrabat is the player who is "orange injured". Not very visibly obvious, but you can spot the edges of his "orange injury" if you look at ham. He is at DM / Deep Lying Playmaker on Defend duty in the selected players for the upcoming U21's match (he is not in my first team squad, have demoted him to the U21's because he isn't particualarly good, but that's another matter).

  3. Btw similar bug: Occasionally the loan manager accepts loan offers with less playing time than instructed. For example, if I instruct that only loan offers are to be accepted if it has playing time as at least a regular starter, the loan manager will still sometimes accept loan offers with fringe player or squad player. Most of the time he does it correctly and rejects such offers. But I would say that around 5% of the time he violates the instructions and wrongly accepts such offers.

Happens in all my saves, also in the one already uploaded.

They do look a little higher up, it might be the roles you have because they move around based on that. CM's are around the halfway line

Tbh I have no clue which roles etc. I use. I don't like dealing with tactics. I just use the preset 4-2-3-1 Gegenpress like I have always done. But that tactics is different now on FM23 than it was in FM22. The BBM role is switched to now being a roaming playmaker. And as you imply, both "CM" slots (the ones I thought were CM), might be DM slots instead, even though I they look more like CM slots on the visual part of the tactics screen, the pitch.

    It says there, DMCR, DMCL

Move them up to CM and he'll appear

    Ah, interesting.

But isn't that different from earlier FM's? In earlier versions I believe that all positions that looked sort of CM-like on the pitch, like on the pictures, were categorized as DM. Hm, interesting in any case. So it seems like some CM positions are actually misleading and are in reality DM positions. Confusing in any case. If they are DM positions, the should be moved closer to the defence and visually placed as DM's I think. The current system seems both different from FM22, and generally misleading and confusing.

I think it's because you're trying to select him at DM when he can't play there

He's two star rated as a Box to Box midfielder and one and half stars for Ball Winning Midfielder in the CM position

No it is in the CM position, BWM (de)

  7. In the example, Oliver Ross' current ability star rating in the central midfield role as Ball Winning Midfielder (De) is 1.5 stars on this screen. Whereas on the other screen he isn't even there (I will post a separate picture of the latter in a moment).

In similiar examples, players can be on the latter screen, but with a different star rating assessment than on the player screen, sometimes vastly differet.

Hello, this is intended behaviour. Mentor groups are only for players in the same squad rather than just in same training unit. Think of it as their off field relationship in dressing room, and when travelling to matches, rather than actually in training sessions.

But in that case there still seems to be an error, just another one.

You can add non-first team members to training units. Although you can't manually pick those non-first team players for mentoring groups, they still pop up if you ask your assistant to put together mentoring groups. And then you can most often fiddle around with things, switch the desired into the group where one or two of the non-first team players are. From what you say, it is unintentional that this is possible.
