  1. What does this have to do with squad building? I mean, I highly doubt that anyone at SI takes enjoyment in ruining anyone's save, so if you think the money has been removed for no reason you should log it as a bug to be checked. If not, wouldn't it be better to try to understand why it has happened? Did you have to repay installments/loans? It sounds more like an issue of poor financial management to me.
  2. It's not about magically preparing, just about maximizing chances. Having a tactic you use a against bigger teams in the tactic rotation means that tactical familiarity will increase by training in it. It will also increase by using it, which if you're Ajax at the start of a career, will probably mean using it extremely rarely in the Eredivise (close to never, depending on how Feyenoord/PSV progress) plus the six or more CL matches you play each year. More likely than not, you'll not play those using the same tactic you use against weaker Eredivise opposition. Will the familiarity be perfect? No, but it's definetly usable and I would argue better than what OP is currently using. Hard to do any worse than always lose
  3. I understand the reason for introducing it, although I would've personally preferred that the time that went into working that into the game was spent on other issues, especially the more blatant ones that have been plaguing the game for years such as fixing once and for good player interactions. But that's just me, I usually play one, max two, saves a year and stick to those teams for that FM release. I understand how it could be an interesting change of scenary for players that experiment with a much larger number of saves a year. Even if I ended up having the time, not knowing all that much about the women's game and not having international football to ease into it would be kind of a deal breaker for me.
  4. I don't think that the suggestion was to use unfamiliar tactics, rather to build more than one tactic and have the team increase its familiarity with them all. I usually have 2/3, which sounds like something that would make a lot of sense for OP, as the teams he will be facing in CL matches will have a very different approach and quality level compared to his usual Eredivise opponents.
  5. But is all that really a good reason for me not to be able to know their weight? Honestly it's not this insane of a request. If so, why was it introduced in the game in the first place? I feel like the answer is simply: because it makes a lot of sense.
  6. What honestly baffles me a bit is the inconsistency between different parts of the same announcement. Only 5.6% of players play as NT managers, so we're taking that out. On it's own this would be fair enough, at least for me personally, since it's been undoubtedly in need of a revamp for a long time now, so I can understand the idea of not wanting to put something in the game if you're not pleased with how it looks. But in the very next next paragraph... "We've been laser-focused on introducing Women's Football to FM in the most authentic way possible." Seriously? I understand why as a company SI probably have to go down this path, but I find it hard to believe that the majority of FM players would prefer a game with Women's Football in it rather than a fixed International Management system. Absolutely no disrespect to Women's Football here, but these two statements in the same announcement are a bit of a joke.
  7. I don't know the rules for the specific competition, but if you navigate in game to any competition it includes squad registration and match day rules that should provide you the answer
  8. This seems to be an issue for me as well, little to no scouting reports coming in from good scouts with knowledge of the countries where they have been sent.
  9. From what I have seen last time I played, the number of appearances shown seemed like the number of friendlies. The issue was still in my save, although it was started in the beta.
  10. Will only weigh in on the first part as the second sounds just like the latest instance of broken player interactions. But I feel like the first point might not be a bug. If you're playing as Atalanta or Juventus and your reserve team plays in Serie C, a loan player coming back in January and then playing one game for your reserve team will have now played for two teams in the same season, and your first team (or any other team) would count as third team in the same season, which is not allowed by FIFA rules.
  11. Still might need to be higher to improve realism, but I'm glad to hear it's happening in saves. Just thought I'd ask as it felt really odd to have never seen it in two full seasons
  12. These are minor points, but: Has a penalty been disallowed after VAR check in your saves yet? I'm two full seasons in, and haven't seen a single penalty call disallowed by VAR. Sort of breaks the game immersion and the anxiety/excitement I should be feeling once a ref is called to VAR. Especially since IRL, if a penalty is allowed and the ref is called for a VAR check, it usually means there's something important he has missed, therefore the penalty rarely will stand. Seems to be the entire opposite in FM. Why does a highlight pop up, just for nothing to happen for 10 seconds... Because the team doctors are on the pitch to carry someone out? Why in the world would I need to see that? It just makes the highlight start off "wonky" as I keep wondering if the game broke down.
  13. Were it to drop in the next few hours I'd have the whole evening and night to play, while I probably wouldn't be able to play until next Wednesday if it dropped later. So it's definetly not dropping today lol
  14. Couldn't you look at this also the other way around? Just to make an example, Mitoma could have been a player born with 160 PA in FM that has then stagnated around the 110 mark for a few years due to a variety of reasons. Then, after the move to Brighton, he's now in the perfect conditions for his PA to show and he's finally reaching what he has always had the potential to achieve. Honestly I find the above a much more realistic condition to implement in FM, instead of a dynamic PA. There would certainly be the need to adjust how the current player development is working, as a Mitoma situation would call for an attribute increase that is much quicker and less progressive than how regular player development works in FM, but I would personally love to see something like this implemented in game.
  15. Honestly I find praising the AI pretty wild as, in the vast majority of cases, it's exactly any interaction with said AI that completely breaks how immersive the simulation feels. Whether it's unbelievably stupid AI squad building, player/squad/board talks or press conferences, the AI is by far what should be top of the list for a revamp.
  16. Hello All, I started getting more "tactically involved" in my save, trying to make slight adjustments to how I want my team to play based on the next opponent. To do this, I rely heavily on the Scout/Analyst report for next opponent, but... The scout and analyst I assign to the task seem to reset every week in the dedicated screen. At least from what I can tell, there seems to be a "Confirm" option, but I can't find anything to permanently assign them to the job. Unfortunately I don't have my personal laptop at the moment so I can't provide screenshots of the in game page, but I assume most people will be familiar with what I'm talking about (I can load it when I get home if needed). Is there any way to save this assignment as permanent? I understand them resetting in case I don't renew one of their contracts... But having to assign them every single week seems absolutely unnecessary, I can't believe there's no way to have this confirmed automatically. Hoping I'm the one doing something wrong here and that someone can help
  17. Set pieces and Player/Team/Media interactions are two parts of the game that SI should really tear down and rework completely. I think the community has agreed on this for at least a couple of years now, but so far... This is still what we've got. I remain hopeful for next years edition.
  18. Don't have much to contribute, just wanted to say I found extremely enjoyable going through this thread and reading the tweaks you made to slightly adjust player roles and positions to fit the shape you had in mind. Definitely looking to implement some sort of 4-4-2 in my save after this read
  19. You should post some in game screenshots of the Tactic in order for people to be able to help. 4-2-3-1 Wide Vertical Tiki-Taka Attacking doesn't mean much on it's own, as we have absolutely no idea about any team or player instructions and have no clue what role you have your players playing in.
  20. Personally, I've only used an asymmetric tactic when forced to by the available squad and lack of finances to do any different. But to be fair it's mostly just because I'm just way too bothered from the weird placing of players in the tactic screen in any asymmetric formation for it to ever convince to use it
  21. I'll add myself to the question here, I've seen it happen in my Wisla save. Was unable to renew basically the entirety of the staff I had on an expiring contract, as the max I was able to offer was suddenly lower. Could it be something related to the Jan. update? I find it hard to believe it's something related to Club finances, as, at least in my case, they are definitely better now than compared to the time when those staff members were originally signed.
  22. Club World Cup schedule is bugged as hell, or at least it was until FM22. Don't know if they've fixed in FM23 but I've read tons of complaints, and experienced this myself, but it's absolutely something they had missed until the latest version. About expected playing time, at least where possible I try to never go over Regular Starter. Haven't really had a lot of issues with it in FM22, seems like players were pretty much fine with rotating CL/League matches, but I think it's a thin line to walk
  23. I don't know if it actually frustrates them, but I always like to tackle harder on technical players I have a physical advantage on. In the game preview screen I've seen players worried about their matchup against a more physically imponent opponent, so I assume it might have at least a slight impact? Just a personal assumption though
  24. Highly suggest it, or even just to check out a Polish save with a different club. Poland has little to no squad registration rules in the first division, just a couple of extra ones in the second tier (starting eleven must include one U20 polish player and no more than 2 non-UE players) which make for a fun time. Basically no money of course, at least at the start, but it's also an extremely balanced league where anyone can win at any given time, especially when the top teams qualify for European group spots and have to manage the balance of playing every three days. For instance... To my surprise, I got to the Polish cup final from the second division and only lost 1-0 to Legia. Had I won, I would've qualified for the Conference League playoffs directly from Division 2
  25. Have played just one season so far as I've just moved on from FM22, but having an absolute blast with Wisła Kraków, fallen giant currently sitting in the second division of Poland. Strong side for the league, you start off as a top 2 favorite for promotion and have a really young squad with a couple of really talented youngsters. Check out Piotr Starzynski and Mikolaj Bieganski in your saves. I have no idea what their PA is as I prefer to not have any insight from the in game editor, but after a season of regular playing time they look like genuine gems. Shame I've had to sell Bieganski to Stuttgart (although was at least able to keep on loan till the end of the season) already, but 1.5M (and a 40% future sell on clause) is a lot of money for a lower division polish team, couldn't pass it up
