  1. I agree that more should be done with the manager salary. Right now, I don't care if I earn 200k or 2k a week at a club, as long as I'm managing it. However, stuff like buying houses, cars, etc. are reminiscent of EAFC Player Career Mode. They don't do much, except occasionally giving you a small boost somewhere. SI have emphasised that they will only add features if they are of the highest quality possible, so this definitely has to be expanded upon to be added into the game. One way I can think of expanding this is the location of your home. If you start as a manager in England, and get an offer to manage in Japan, you have to use your salary to pay for a home (more expensive up front, have to pay for multiple year lease etc), rent a house (medium cost up front, minimum rental stay), or pay for a hotel (cheaper up front, expensive long term). Options like that can help dictate your journey. If you have a house in London and manage in Manchester, you will get a training/managerial effectiveness deduction due to the fatigue from the travel, which can be removed by purchasing/renting a house or paying for a hotel.
  2. You can still make free transfers after the January window, as the restricted transfer window is still open in some countries. I think the end of that window (usually march) should be the threshold instead. Or, the transfer date of a player could also be used to determine which season a transfer is recorded under. I.e. if I make a transfer for 1.5 years from now, it should only show up in the window where the player joins the club.
  3. Singapore has a pretty limited pool of names that isn't really accurate, so this would be a great addition
  4. You can check under the player's info on the city they're born, second nationalities etc. Have seen quite a lot of immigrant youth intake players in my save, e.g. I have a Somalian player who was born in Wolverhampton
  5. As seen in the screenshot, I have made a bunch of transfers in around late may/early june. Notably, this is AFTER the board have given me my new season's budget, as well as after the 'season recap' feature has gone by. I also do not have any more club matches to play. However, these transfers are listed as within the 2023/24 season, even though they were made in late may/early june 2024. I understand that the transfer window hasn't opened yet, but it would just make more sense to classify them as transfers for the upcoming 2024/25 season, seeing as the 2023/24 season has effectively ended.
  6. Right now the half back has the behaviour where he will drop into the defence line. A HB at DMCR will drop as a right centre back, while a HB at DM will drop as a central centre back. I want the ability to ask my HB to drop into specific positions, such as a central halfback dropping as a right or left centre back. As seen in the images below, Romeu, my HB, drops as the central CB. However, I would like him to drop into the right side, to form a back 3 with Dawson in the middle as he is the weakest on the ball. I cannot do this without compromising my midfield and moving Romeu to the right, while keeping him centrally exposes my right side when building up.
  7. The only feature in the game I can think of is that your coaching staff get a higher workload when there are too many players. However, the game treats staff counts incredibly unrealistically. After a few successful seasons you're often able to hire 15+ coaches. I remember when one of the spurs coaches (Conte?) had like 10 guys on the sideline with him, and everyone was bamboozled. IRL, there are only about 4 or 5 guys in the coaching team. I believe this is one of the problems in the game, that you can hire too many coaches, and can have huge squads. The logistics of training 80 people at once should be more accurately factored into the game. For example, How can you do One-on-one training with 46 strikers and 1 goalkeeper? Each striker would probably be only able to take 1 or 2 shots before training for that day ends, assuming the goalkeeper does not injure himself from diving so often. How about strength training with a squad of 80? I don't know if there's any private gym in the world capable of that. And of course, on top of all of that, is the psychological side of having such a big squad and only one manager, which the above comments have detailed enough
  8. My guess is that the Match Engine has been iterated over and improved over so many years that a lot of it is spaghetti code, written by people who haven't worked at SI for years. Hopefully FM25 comes with a refresh of everything which gives the devs a clean slate to fix basic problems like this. Given how basic of a stat "Times woodwork was hit" is, I'm sure the devs are aware of this issue as they compare their match engine simulations to real life data that is much more complex. That's how they had to rework the engine so that Haaland wouldn't break it (I believe Nick Madden who previously worked on the ME spoke with Zealand about this in a video)
  9. This thread details a lot about FM not having a functioning map system. If there are already coordinates for each town, then shouldn't it be possible to calculate rough distances between towns/cities? From there, travel times can be calculated. Furthermore, matches that are further away should take way more than 1 training slot for travel. Flying to Miami from London takes a huge amount of time, and the players have to rest and adjust for jetlag. It should realistically take a MINIMUM of 2 days, not 1/3 training slots (which by my guess would be 2-3 hours?)
  10. Right now, the game mechanics set it such that all away games have two "Travel" slots in training, to travel there and back. However, this is highly impractical when there are two games within a few days of each other. Why would I travel from London to Manchester, back to London, then to Liverpool 2 days later? Of course, this would be more expensive as the team would have to pay for a hotel for all staff and rent a training ground etc. As such, this should be an option for teams to undertake. It could come in the form of an assistant manager/personal assistant email, saying "Would you like to make accommodations for the team to remain in Manchester in view of the away game v. Liverpool on <date>?". Selecting Yes would cost some money but open up training slots and reduce fatigue from less travel. Selecting No would save money but the team would have to travel more, increasing fatigue and decreasing the number of training slots. Furthermore, if the matches are very close to each other, an option not to rent a training ground and instead give rest days to all players can also be included.
  11. Maybe this feature can be extended to have a "Automatically apply for job when available" In-game, it can be seen as your personal assistant/agent applying for the job for you while you were holidaying
  12. This problem could be fixed by first coding into the game an unavailability mechanic for when the club and country's fixtures/training clash, and then you have to choose between the two Then, under staff responsibilities for both club and country should be an option to have "Delegate training to coach when unavailable" and "Delegate matches to coach when unavailable" categories, where you can select a specific coach to be your second in command.
  13. Perhaps this could be tied into the squad planner feature. That feature already has a ranking system for players in each position for the current, which could be used for what you're asking. This means that each tactic would have a squad planner-like feature, where you'd rank your first, second, third etc. choices for players in each position, and they'd automatically adjust around when switching to the tactic
  14. Just to add on, I've noticed that all the Singaporean based teams (all teams except DPMM and Albirex) also sack their managers after the SPL season ends. I have a save that is at 30 Sep 2023 right now, and a similar case with the loan/transfer listed players can be seen. It is however using a custom database, but I don't think it's affecting the issue
  15. So, IRL there are many instances of players who have to change the way they play due to certain factors such as injury, age, or both. This means that they may lose their skill in one sector (often physical attributes), and then have to improve in other sectors to adapt their game. Examples include Leroy Sane, who became a much more creative player after his ACL injury affected his speed (A lot of examples are similar to this, players losing their pace and improving their technicals to compensate) CR7, who became more of a poacher after injuries affected his dribbling ability Of course, this is already available in-game as you can focus training on certain attributes. But this level of attribute change in the game is only really possible for young, high-potential players (and players with the late bloomer media description), whereas this scenario is usually for players that are in their mid-20s at least. The feature would include a discussion with a player to change his playstyle, maybe made available after an injury or natural physical decline etc. Then, whether the player would respond well and actually improve would be determined by their Determination, Ambition, Professionalism, and Versatility attributes, as well as if they have enough gap between their PA and CA to allow for such growth. Another slightly different example is Mohamed Salah. He has not significantly declined physically yet, and hasn't suffered any major injuries. However, due to a mixture of great coaching, incredible professionalism, and work ethic, he has developed his game to be much more creative and unselfish as before. This could be seen to anticipate his physical decline. Perhaps the feature could allow for the discussion to be made with any player, but only those with extremely high professionalism, determination, versatility, and ambition attributes, as well as low controversy attributes would react well. The conversation could include multiple options, such as "You're getting old, you should change the way you play" which would only work for players who are approaching the end of their prime "There is a lot of competition in your position, and I think you could benefit from a change of playing style." I had something like Joelinton in mind regarding this, as in FM, he had a huge increase in his defensive stats after his position change. "I'm playing a style of football that you don't currently have the ability to play, but I want you to try and change that" Perhaps something like what ten Hag tried with De Gea, which obviously didn't work but I'm sure that there's been some example of this which I can't think of
