3.5 stars. That’s with custom lower leagues though. I went deep decades into saves though had no issues. Yeah, that is one downside the screen is too small. Often, I use a HDMI cable to project it on to a computer screen I have so that negates it. My old windows laptop was 15" and going down to 13" is a big drop down. So I would defo say get the 15.

Yep, no fan so no noise. Yes, it gets warm. But that's how the Laptop works with no fan, it vents the heat around the machine. Thats the trade off. It's really mostly is just the top of the laptop above the keyboard that gets hot to the touch. Number of leagues depends on what type of game you want really. for 22 and 23 I was loading over 20 leagues. No issues worked fine. Had a perfect experience playing FM on Mac, since I switched over from PC for FM 22.

Yep, has defo been a tiny tiny improvement where you now see the odd few getting picked. Where as before hand before this patch there was a cut off where players under 24 would not get picked. Still way off from where it should be though. Compared to real life. And though some nations now get younger players in their squads from my saves I notice some nations like France still don't get younger players in their squad.

Too early to tell. People will have to sim and test it out. Does not seem much in regards to this in the patch notes unlike the last patch. AI teams are meant to be better at loaning out players to develop them better. Besides that not much.

The issue was reported back in 22. I think it's clear they don't fully understand the causes of this issue. Hence why their previous attempts to fix it did not work. The other big thing is they are scared about causing bigger bugs and breaking the game more if they start messing about with things too much. So at best for 23 I think we were always only going to get a few tweaks and improvements to make things better than they were, but by no means was the issue going to be fixed.

Probably not worth it given we are so close. Yeah some fixes will apply but not everything will. Hence its probably just better to wait just little longer for the release.

It's part of a known issue. They tried to fix it in the last patch, but it remains a problem. The hope is its improved on for the feb/march update.

Thanks for posting, I do wonder though if Inter is the best example because they do start with a very old squad in the 22/23 season. So realistically for Inter and the Italian league that might actually be within reason. IRL I know Inter have a few under 20ish players, But from what I know they only really only use one 19-year-old on a regular base. Would be interesting if you looked at a few random clubs from the other top leagues to see if they have the same issue. Because as I say for Inter and Italy that might actually not be out of the norm. However if you have spanish clubs, english clubs etc being top heavy with over 30's too many over 25's and basically no youth then clearly it is a big issue.

Thanks for the post, is interesting to see. If you get the chance to sim a few years further would be interesting to see how it looks further down the line. To me, it does seem like a pretty old squad. The squad England sent to the 2022 world cup, is kinda old on average when you look at all the ages. But within that squad there was a decent amount of youth. English squad at WC One 19 year old One 21 year old One 22 year old Two 23 year olds. Two 24 year olds Spanish squad at WC 1 21 year old 4 20 year olds 1 18 year old 1 19 year old Game wise In particular it does seem like anyone under 25ish struggles to break into the squads. Of those nations that have been mentioned. I think it is perhaps within reason and realistic that certain squads will just happen to be on the old side at certain points, like in real life maybe England will have a bad few years where not enough young talent is coming through. However, I don’t think its within reason or realistic that such nations like England have ZERO younger players coming through. There should be some 19 year old, some 21 year old etc etc in those squads. Instead, though they are filled with over 25's.

I don't think Belgium is a nation with this problem though. Its more the big ones england,spain,france,italy, germany that have issues with younger players coming through and getting caps for the national team. If you get a chance to look and check those nations would be interesting to know how many young players like Luan Junior those bigger nations have in their national teams.

Not really its pretty old. If its a problem in 23 in needs posted in the 23 bug forum. I have seen a few people claim that finally in 23 it has been fixed though. Have not checked myself though to confirm such claims.

I have seen other people claim it is fixed this year finally, have not tested it out myself yet.

As others have asked please post any results in the bug tracker, so they know, and can make future attempts to improve the issue.

I wish it was that simple, but it is a much more complex issue than that. Several different issues are probably factors that cause the problem. Different people have found different things that could all be different factors.

The Problem mainly affects certain nations like England etc Some nations like Mexico actually have the opposite problem where they get too many insane young players.

As disappointed as I am that it appears this issue has still not been improved enough or fixed. The fact is they did make a clear effort to try and make it better. Changing a few things with the last patch. Still, patches to come So hopefully its an issue to remain committed to trying to improve.

Can be done yes. Last year someone made a 40 team world cup for example.

Wonder if any of the new changes this patch will improve or fix this issue: - Improved CA progression rates for players in inactive leagues - Improved Attribute distribution – NewGen generation + progression (eg. Crossing for fullbacks) - Tweaks to NewGen reputation

No real solution, others have reported the same kinda issue. SI comments just suggest lowering graphics and getting a cooling pad etc.

Known issue. It was reported as a bug in 22. And there are 2 bug reports in the bug tracker about it in 23. This first bug report is a good breakdown of the issue. As far as I am aware there have been no patches yet so we don;t know if they have issued a fix. Or if they will address the issue at all in 23.

Would be interesting to know your computer specs and what nations/leagues you have loaded, and the db size. I know there are other bugs regarding poor fm 23 performance. So the game probably needs patched to fix such issues. Maybe worth checking the bug tracker forum and reporting this issue.

Got flash backs to the euros when it was shown game after game Southgate is just unable to make good substitutions to change or impact games. I do think there is a bit of fear there aswell, where he would rather not make changes until very late, And the changes he does make tend to be more negative. Such a crime given the players he has on the bench.
