Do you see many direct free kicks being scored in real life? I’m not sure you do - aside from the Trents and JWPs occasionally.

I absolutely dread these situations as more often than not, they end up completely ruining morale. Whether that be everyone crying, or the minority then disrupting the atmosphere thereafter. When I’m advised to hold a meeting re: title chances etc. I simply don’t do it. There’s always one who thinks I’ve just slagged his family off rather than telling him we’ve got a chance to win the league here.

Yeah but whenever I go back in to make a sub, it’s back jumbled up like that. It seems to have randomly fixed itself now without any intervention 🤷🏼‍♂️

From time to time in my saves, this happens (below), where the ordering of my team selection ends up all over the place: Naturally I have it sorted by position, but mid-game this has happened, and no matter how many times I re-sort it, every time I come to make a sub it's back to that mess above. It happened on another save and never went back to normal. Can anyone advise? Thanks in advance.

I get that, but surely that doesn’t come from anyone but the manager/ coaching staff? Anyway, was just a flippant post really, as it was added at the start of my new season, as I scored from 3 or 4 corners last season 😆.

Want me to have my team make the most of set pieces? Can you imagine the board coming in and telling the manager to win loads of corners? 🙄

Have reverted to their default names I’ve noticed. I’ve redone the real names fix but those remain (Capital One or something like that 🤣🤣) and 3 letter abbreviations. Man United, Sociedad etc are all fine. Anyone know if this can be sorted? It ain’t good for my OCD! I’ve done the clear cache/ reload skin carry on. Cheers.

Why don’t you play the same game over and over using AMA’s and SS’s and see how their behaviour differs. I would assume a AMA is more of a provider/ creator role whereas a SS is all about scoring. Similar to the differences between IW’s and IF’s.

I watch literally every game in my save in full. Reason being, I like to enjoy the journey, rather than watching the odd highlight and going on holiday. The save takes longer and you’re not 10 years into the future in an instant. Anyway, the point I wanted to make is, by watching every game I can clearly see where my tactic is not suitable or requires tweaking, depending on the oppositions approach. I recently posted in another thread how I finally managed to get the better of Bayern in my Dortmund save, altering my approach to counteract theirs. I knew what I had to do, I just wasn’t aware that pressing worked the way it does in FM23 - weirdly I’ve won loads without even knowing this. So in my opinion, by watching every game (I know it’s not for everyone) I can see exactly where my tactics don’t work, most of the time it does, but occasionally you have to alter in game to combat oppo’s strengths or exploit their weaknesses. Game management is hugely exaggerated in FM23 too, so you also need to be good at closing out games, particularly in the last 20 minutes or so. My advice would be pay more attention and enjoy the journey, rather than wanting too much too soon.

After reading through the comments on this thread, I began to think about traps/ pressing in a whole new light, and after struggling like hell against Bayern in my Dortmund save I put some of the points above into action, and then this happened...................... They love switching from 4-2-3-1 to 4-2-2-2 when they're not getting their own way, and that's what usually kills me! I went from a trap inside to a trap outside, adjusting my formation accordingly, and it worked an absolute treat. I even finished the game with a 4-6-0 to keep them contained, and even nicked a late goal to finish them off. It's rare I really enjoy watching a full 90 minutes in FM, but this was absolutely class, even when they scored those quickfire goals I knew I still had the upper hand. I agree. I’m seeing incessant double ricochets as well (leading to throw ins/ corners etc), which would appear to be newly introduced. I did try to ask about it as you have but unfortunately it didn’t make it past quality control.

The most frustrating game of the season so far - players literally missing open goals. Surely there must be something code-wise being applied to this so that I don't run away with a cup final victory? A last minute penalty from nowhere too, come on SI, be honest with me please? Their clearcut chance was the 93rd minute penalty:

I could live without them. I like the one that often pops up in my saves about being knocked out of a cup even though I’m still in it. Always happens when the new ECL format kicks in.
