Why bother with tactical analysis?
Chiravilla replied to DavidWaters's topic in Tactics, Training & Strategies Discussion
Yes, maybe gegen is broken and it's probably the easiest way to succeed but... it's still a game and everyone can play in their own way. It depends on your expectations for the game. Let's start with the fact that players who don't work aroud the football in real life can win the champions league in three seasons with a club started in the Championship. Is this real? No. Personally, I lose motivation when I win repeatedly and the results are unreal. That's why I love counterattack styles in FM I prefer to lose/draw a few matches in a row and then win in the way I want to play with boys who suit to my tactics (E.g I love "basque style": brave and hardworking players who sacrifice for the team and build the team around them). However, losing can be frustrating and the computer games should rather allow you to relax. You can feel the same satisfaction by winning every match and signing best wonderkids from downloaded shortlists OR by making some small tactical tweaks, look for the right players for your style and make the game as difficult as possible. If you're playing a single career, play by your own rules. What will give you more satisfaction? Cheers mate! -

343 - final third setup
Chiravilla replied to Chiravilla's topic in Tactics, Training & Strategies Discussion
Hi, thanks for all your inputs and advise. Unfortunately, I have a very limited time to play but I menaged to test several solutions in the preseason and a few league matches. I found bdalance in the TM(a) + AM (a) + AM (s) and Target Man works great. SS (instead of AM(a) also was good but his impact for game was something different what I expected). However, things happens and my striker is injured for 5 months. I changed the formation to 2strikers: AM(s), PF(a), AF(a). I have to wait for the result. Cheers! -
Hi folks, [FM23] I'm trying to create something new for me - 343 formation but the final third is a hard nut to crack for me because of the players I have in my team. It's mostly bout: how to utilize Target man and AM(su) it this setup. ACM L my POV is Shadow Striker here. I have 2 very good players but they have some shortcomings that discourage me from using this role. The idea is that ACM L is the most forward one and attacks from deep on the field. So maybe Trequartista? ACM R is born to be AM(su) Another way is to play 2x ST and 1xACM AM + TM + Poacher/AF/PF (a)? Formation (it's only outline): I want to utilize my top TM who is top header and two WBs with their great crossing skills. Cheers!

Simple crafting of a 4-3-3 DM

Hi Johnny! How do you see the setup with the Raumdauter? I think 433dm has great potential for this role and I am curious about midfield area + opposite winger in a simple way. Cheers! -
I'm thinking about Real Madrid this year. They changed tactics from 433 to 41212 (diamond). Vini and Rodrygo's at the front, and Bellingham on 10 "mediapunta". I think Jude is an pure AM but I have a problem with two brazilians. Should they be positioned in the wingers' or strikers' zone? As wingers they could be IF, W (Vini) or Raumdeuter/W/IW (Rodry) but there would be no one in the middle (Jude is not SS). If in the striker zone: Rdrygo would be good as F9 or T but what role for Vini then? F9 + T setup? I don't see Vini as a pure striker. There is great quality in the midfield area and everyone could play different roles on the pitch. How do you see Real Madrid tactic for this season in FM?

Simple crafting of a 4-3-3 DM

Hi Jonny, thank you for this topic! I'm a big fan of simple solutions, after years of making FM more complicated than necessary. Does your CM have "Hold position" set in PI's if DM is on support duty and fills the Mezalla gap?
