[FM 2024] Torino FC - Sogni di battere la Juve
billmatic replied to El Payaso's topic in FM Career Updates
I can't believe I've only just come across this thread through your mini update in the Defence-First thread. This is incredible, such an enjoyable read. I hope you feel your efforts are appreciated and your enthusiasm shared. Like Jogo Bonito before me, I'd been thinking about which club to start a (hopefully) long-term save with and Torino was one of the top contenders. Chose them at random on FIFA 17 and fell in love with Il Gallo and co. -
You Should Use Opposition Instructions

Brilliant as always. Combine this and @Duracellio's sensible approach to a match and you'll be unstoppable. Thought I'd mention how much this resonated with me: I often take inspiration (copy) from tactics posted here and whenever things go tits up, I don't have a clue what to do. Back to the drawing board. -
It's funny you should ask that because I was thinking of asking myself. I have City next game, too. I'd love for someone more tactically astute to attempt a recreation, but as bababooey said above replicating certain aspects instead is probably the way forward. Happy to be proven wrong, of course. Edit #1: Leading 2-0 at halftime! Edit #2: Won 3-0!

I've noticed, especially against the better teams, your Liverpools, Uniteds, etc., they seem to pass through my midfield easily and then I concede. I'll make some adjustments per your advice. Do you play with wingers? Ideally I'd want to maximise Wharton, Olise, and Eze before they're inevitably sold.

After six successive clean sheets (granted against lesser opponents, an intra-squad friendly, and a testimonial match) in pre-season I thought I'd finally cracked it, but five games into the actual season I'm sitting 14th with one win (1-0 vs Brighton), three losses, including back-to-back 2-3 to Villa and Forest, and a draw (1-1 vs Everton). Initially I wanted to have a W - At on the right, but Olise has a long-term injury and Ayew is 45 years old so I pinched an idea I saw on another thread. (I'll edit in credit once I remember whose idea it was.) I think the tactic itself is on the cusp of being affective, but any insight into where the problems lie or any tweaks you think beneficial would be appreciated. I'll keep this in mind when creating my tactics in my real save, potentially with Palace. You hit the nail on the head there. 6 goals scored, the fewest in the league, no in-game tweaks, minimal effort or consideration, not sure why I expected anything more than bottom. Lack of sleep does that. If anything this absolute failure has given me even more of an incentive to create my own tactic with the help of those in this thread.
