Title says it all. I'm playing FM23. What the actual **** do I have to do to sign a player? Offered a player who would be a 2.5 star player on my team 1.4/1.5 times as much money as the team he signed for. Offered him "star player" status.. it's ludicrous.

The below link seems to feature a moderator saying that throw-ins only work when the player taking the throw in makes a long throw. Is this correct because that would explain my problem.

No, I do the training and have already done set piece delivery training prior to the matches... This is so irritating.

Title pretty much says it all. I have a single throw-in routine loaded in for my club along with several corner kick routines. They don't actually use any of them but just do their own thing... really annoying. I am playing 23 btw. Anyone know why this could be?

I think I may have figured it out.. maybe. (BTW, no there not on coaching courses). I noticed that when you go to the "coaches summary" of various players some of them have a hidden attribute that says "unlikely to improve in the future" or "must improve work ethic to improve." 2 of the 3 players I have on my squad who cannot learn traits have those negative hidden attributes. The last remaining one has no negative hidden attributes... less sure about him. I went through all of my players and it's only 3 of my whole squad who have the problem so it's no biggie.

Lately, I've been having some success developing new traits in some of my players, however there are certain players that I don't have the option for. I will click development, training, etc. and then click the "discuss new trait" box and there the coaches are greyed out and I am brought to a hault. - The players are not injured - The players are not being rested/ on vacation - The players don't have some crazy high workload - There are other players who I do have this option for Any ideas? Thanks.

I have been scouring around the main menu for like 20 minutes now looking for a way to create a new manager profile for FM23. No luck... Part of me feels as though it's right in front of my face and part of me senses it's actually not an option. I even uninstalled FM and reinstalled the program. Is is possible to start from scratch with a new manager/ and manager profile? I'd like to change my attributes...

So it doesn't lower their ceiling at all then? Maybe it "morphs" their ceiling and they end up becoming a bit of a different player than before?

I was watching a zealand video about 10 myths about fm or something like that. I was confused about something he said in the video which was that players who start training to learn a new position and players who start training to learn how to develop their weaker foot cut into their "current ability" by doing so. This led me to believe that while players are doing this sort of training, they are not quite as good as they would be otherwise. But this doesn't really make sense to me and makes me feel like I misunderstood him. I think that what he possibly meant to say was that this type of training could cut into the players potential ability. He even said something along the lines of "training the weaker foot will hinder their overall development." Can anyone interpret what he was saying for me?
