  1. I completely understand and I'm thankful it was improved very quickly. It's just a bit frustrating, as it has not been a problem at all in the previous games. Overall scorelines across the save felt like real life last year and if there was a big one, you could always explain it. Great attacking teams were able to score a lot, however, when doing a save in lower leagues, the scorelines and tables were a lot more pragmatic. Maybe I'm just traumatized by the pre-patch situation, I don't know.
  2. Breaking two goalscoring records in a single qualification cycle... I'm loving the game, but I can't stop stressing about the scorelines even after the patch... I understand that the top league average goals scored are currently lower than in real life, but I truly wish it would be possible to tweak the overall goalscoring according to the league/level. In real life, these thriller games are common in the Prem, UCL, etc., but very rarely they occur in lower leagues and smaller nations' international ties.
  3. If you love a lot of goals, nobody is stopping you from playing a 4-2-4 Gegenpress without any defensive duties
  4. Fair enough. I'm playing in Latvia which is a notoriously low-scoring league, perhaps that's why it seems worse than it is. I wish the average scorelines would differ depending on the quality of the league. For example, the high scores are fine for the Premier League or the UCL, but it's very, very, very rare to have two 5+ goal games in the same matchday in, let's say, Polish Ekstraklasa.
  5. I've played a good amount since the last patch and although at first I was happy with the scorelines, sadly, it seems that they're still a bit too much. I haven't seen any crazy ones like 7-3 etc, but there are too many 3-3's, 4-3's, etc. Hopefully, SI can tinker with them a bit more.
  6. Football Manager, by definition, is a simulator and meant to resemble real life. If you like high score lines, you can either switch to FIFA or play a maxed out tempo gegenpress with 0 defensive duties. Those high scorelines were present in all saves and using any tactic or team, so it's not even a debate that they had to be fixed as quickly as possible. I agree that beating Real Madrid 5-0 can be fun. However, it's not fun to beat Real Madrid 6-3 twice a season.
  7. Sure, but I think it's fair to criticize when needed and give credit where it's due. I'm disappointed with the release, but I'm also happy and thankful for the quickly delivered patch.
  8. By far the biggest issue I had with the game was the ridiculous amount of goals scored and after a couple of hours of gameplay tonight, I'm quite confident that it has been addressed. I'm playing a calm, low tempo, possession football and I don't see much difference in terms of the buildup or how the chances created are visually represented. Most importantly, scores around the world seem absolutely fine which was a huge deal breaker for me and others I'm sure. Also, I've noticed a bit more penalties, but to be honest, I like it. I'm a huge fan of realism/immersion and I've always felt that there's too little of them in the game. We're living in VAR era where every little contact is reviewed and possibly called, so it doesn't feel like it's ruining the simulation or the experience in general. Instead, it makes you hate the referees just like in real life lol Defensive football and parking the bus works, which is lovely. Of course, if you're the underdog and you're putting 11 man behind the ball, most likely, you will concede a ton of chances and lose, but it's possible. In previous games playing a catenaccio against a heavyweight would ruin your day within the first half. Player interactions are still broken. When trying to convince a player who's willing to explore their options to stay, they confront you for even bringing it up which seems stupid. Not too big of a deal as we can edit the unhappiness, but I don't recall such a sequence in the previous game or the beta. Thank you SI for the update!
  9. A bit of positive feedback - I absolutely LOVE that defensive underdog tactics work in FM24. Of course, you still get out-shot heavily, but it does not necessarily mean that you will lose 0-6. Soaking up pressure and playing for set pieces works which is a great adjustment. Last year, if you tried to play route one against a way better side, you'd eat 3 goals in the first 30 minutes.
  10. I'm pretty sure that the majority of us watch the highlights. I find it hard to believe that you love football/this game so much that you watch an extensive amount of highlights, but the ridiculous amount of goals scored was not bothering you. What's the point in seeing beautiful buildup if it happens 5 times a half and the game ends 4-4. Personally, I think that we should be thankful that a major update arrived way earlier than anticipated and a lot of complaints have been addressed. Keep providing feedback instead of your emotions and I'm sure that we will get more tweaks and updates along the way. Saying 'Well done SI, you ruined the game' 6 hours after the update has been released is wild.
  11. Thank you for confirming! EDIT : Just did a quick test run by simulating a couple of days forward. The first matchday that was played looked very promising in terms of goalscoring. Instantly gave me a 0-0 draw which would've been impossible before the update. Much appreciated!
  12. I assume that all of the other ME changes will positively impact the scorelines, but I'd like confirmation as well
  13. Am I right to assume that all of the ME changes will positively impact the high scoreline problem? There's no specific mentioned of it. :/
  14. Could someone share a link to the patch notes if they're released?
  15. You're lucky. There are tons of people including me who are not able to play the game, as the high scorelines all across the save ruin the immersion/realism
  16. Fair enough, that's completely understandable, but the game has been out since late October and there has been a patch already. In my opinion, this issue should've been a priority. Thanks for your input.
  17. This one took me out. I truly don't understand how there still isn't a hotfix for this issue. Mind-boggling.
  18. Yeah, I'd like to think so, but it's a bit worrying that in the message I replied to, Jimmy Wong confirms that the 'lack of depth' issue will be addressed, but there's no affirmation in regard to the high scoreline problem. That's why I chose that message specifically, as I would highly appreciate a simple 'Yes'.
  19. Could you please confirm whether the patch will address the high scoreline/conversion rate/xG overperformance issue?
