You can always add 2 other GM's in the game to take over the teams. It wouldn't be accurate to be able to control those teams as a NHL GM as those minor league teams are independently own and have their own players they sign and employs their own GM.

If one of your players are being buried on their roster then it probably means he's not good enough for the team so you might want to loan him somewhere else (maybe back to CHL or Europe if he's eligible or drop him to the ECHL (if he's buried on AHL team)

I'm sure it differs from team to team, but there are plenty of GMs in the NHL that have virtually full control over staff, lineups and signings when it comes to the affiliated teams.

As a GM for a NHL team I'd like to have full control over roster and staff decisions with the AHL/ECHL affiliates.
