After watching a DoF youtube playlist the other day, I've decided to give it a crack myself.
FM Monchi, will be taking over at a non-league club and the Ass Man will be doing everything apart from signing players. Though I will be asking the Ass Man for suggestions on who to sign, to hopefully fit his way of playing.
Season 1 - Chester FC - Vanarama National League North.
The Chester FC board have hired Fabio Monchi, former England International, as director of football. Monchi's role will be to oversee the Head Coach and other backroom staff and ensure everything is going smoothly on the pitch. The board has given the reigns of hiring and firing personel to Monchi as well as player transfers in and out.
July 2022
After an extensive search for a suitable head coach, Monchi has decided to promote Chesters assistant manager, Colin Woodthorpe.
Colin has a vast amount of experience at this level as a staff member and top on field experience, spending most of his career playing in the Premier League or EFL.
Colin's 4-2-3-1 Gegenpress style, is a huge change from prior manager, Calum McIntyres cautious 4-3-3 system. While Colin's stats may not be the best, I like his style of play and hopefully that translates into the matches.
The board have given us free reign of what the style of football they want us to play, which made my job of hiring the best manager a little easier as we didn't have the confines of style of play work within.
Best XI of Senior and Youth prospects.
Charlie Caton on loan from Shrewsbury is an absolute God for this level, and I expect goals that he scores to shoot us straight up the table.
Another Loanee, Harry Tyrer will also be inportant between the sticks.
Those two loanees were already with the club, I brought in Will Jarvis from Hull, to bolsten the Right Wing area (He was also on the recommended transfer shortlist from Colin).
July Fixtures/Results (Pre-Season)
Colin did as expected during pre-season. Played his 4-2-3-1 formation with a gegenpress. A fair few of the goals in that 11-1 was due to the forwards winning the ball high up the pitch.
Next up we have Alfreton Town to kick the season off away from home.
