  1. I've already knocked off the OS in the one I mocked up to compare and that saved £90 which is crazy. Will there be no loss to performance only having one slot of RAM with 16gb instead of 2x8, as it can't run dual channel? Or is the difference negligible if I'm only really playing FM and doing some light tasks while it's open?
  2. Thank you for this. I have read quite a bit about the intel chips on reddit and it does seem somewhat pot luck whether you get or good or bad one. I have been doing some fiddling on the Lenovo website and have managed to create a LOQ that I may be able to get down to a similar price as the other one with a Ryzen 7 8845hs which doesn't benchmark too much lower than the intel one. Another question for people slightly more tech-savvy than myself. Is there any benefit of having 1x16gb of RAM in one slot compared to 2x8gb in 2 slots? When configuring the laptop you can have a GTX 4050 if you have the 16gb (and save another £70) but if you select 2x8gb you have to have the 4060. I know obviously the better graphics cards is preferable but I'd imagine a 4050 will be enough for FM25 judging buu what I have read in this thread!
  3. Thank you both. I will have a think of the next couple of days Doing a bit of research I have seen a log on reddit about the i7-13650hx particularly in the LOQ having a lot of issues with the motherboard dying. Will probably do a big more digging into that to see how big a problem is has been. At least I've narrowed it down to two now though, so thank you!
  4. Hello again everyone, I appreciate all the help in my previous posts but I am still trying to decide on a laptop. I would be very thankful for people's choice between the following: https://www.very.co.uk/lenovo-ideapad-pro-5i-laptop-16in-25knbspintel-core-i7-geforce-rtx-3050nbsp16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-grey/1600919607.prd https://www.very.co.uk/lenovo-loq-gaming-laptop-156in-fhd-144hz-nvidia-rtx-4060-intel-core-i7-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd/1600989728.prd I appreciate one is gaming laptop and one isn't however considering I am only going to play FM (possibly dabble in some lighter older games AOE etc) then I thought maybe the 4060 was a bit overkill? The first linked one has a better screen (which I like personally) and still has a dedicated graphics card for gaming. I have also seen a couple of Asus Zenbook/Vivobooks on there but while the processors look comparatively good to the above, no dedicated GPU makes me question longevity even for FM. Pro essors in those were the Ryzen 7 8845HS and the Ryzen 7 8945hs. Any opinions appreciated and I do promise this will be my last post and I will be buying tonight/tomorrow with very discount codes and a further 20%.
  5. Ah interesting. I presume you would need the laptop to still be functioning to do this? As my current one has died. I do have an old laptop (bought in 2015) that is still functioning, would I be able to transfer from there?
  6. Thank you for all of this and the suggestions on the other posts. I've got a very good idea of a range of laptops for whatever my budget is. Just going to spend some time researching and reading what reviews are out there for them.
  7. Out of interest, going back to the lower end of my budget. How does the configuration on this one look?, https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lenovo-loq-gen-9-156-fhd-144hz-ips-ryzen-7-7435hs-24gb-ddr5-ram-rtx-4060-512gb-ssd-no-os-gaming-laptop-4375486#comments
  8. Any recommendations for good coolers? There are obviously tonnes on amazon but anyone with any first hand experience with any would be appreciated!
  9. Yeah I am going to double check the website and try and contact Asus if I can. I have also now seen the Zephyrus M16 on there as well which is only another £50 up from the TUF. My only concerns with the two is battery life,, potential fan noise and heat. The laptop won't be permanently in one place and will most likely always be used on my lap (with a tray/cooling tray). I will always be pretty much next to a plug though so plugging in won't he an issue if battery life isn't great while playing FM. In terms of fan noise again I imagine it's personal preference to what different people can tolerate but considering pretty much all I'll play I'd FM I won't have headphones on drowning it out like you might when doing 'proper' gaming, so I might have to consider that. Extra 10% ends tomorrow so I've got some thinking to do and also keep trying to justify spending that much to myself 😂
  10. Thank you both for the replies. It has given me a lot to think about. I have spent the last hour looking at the Asus TUF A16 but there seems to be a bit of a contradiction on the very website. It describes the screen as a Full HD 165hz in the main title and again further down but under the sylish design heading with the bullet points it states '2.5K resolution 165Hz G-SYNC display'. The model number listed on very is FA607PV-QT022W which matches the model number listed on the Asus website (link below -2nd one down) which also states it has a 2.5k resolution screen. https://www.asus.com/uk/laptops/for-gaming/tuf-gaming/asus-tuf-gaming-a16-2024/where-to-buy/ The link on that website to buy actually takes you to the very websitr as one of the options. I guess my question is, what screen does it have? As if it is the above then that seems like a really good deal.
  11. Thank you again for these. I'm considering upping the budget slightly (taking into account very's 20% credit and 10% off) and going for this: https://www.very.co.uk/hp-omen-16-xd0001na-laptop-16in-fhdnbspgeforce-rtx-4060-amd-ryzen-7-16gb-ram-1tb-ssd-black/1600906531.prd I know brightness isn't the biggest thing for FM etc but would like a a brighter screen for when I do occasionally watch films etc. Is that one a good choice if the budget goes up to £1199? Obivously only if bought through very!
  12. Yeah that makes complete sense. I guess I do like a brighter screen myself but obviously understand laptops with better/brighter screens at my price point will be have weaker specs elsewhere.
  13. Thank you for those two. I have looked a fair bit at the Omen but the main thing that concerned me is the screen only being 250nits. Is that going to be bright enough? It is slightly larger than my current 15.6 but not by much and to be honest I'm not too worried about portability!
  14. Hello everyone, Would appreciate some opinions on this one: https://www.very.co.uk/asus-zenbook-15-oled-laptop-156in-28k-amd-ryzen-7-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-um3504da-nx015w-blue/1600910827.prd I would use it for basic tasks, watching films/TV shows occasionally but really it's going to be purely for FM. I'm happy to take other recommendations but my budget is ideally under £800. I'm quite keen to buy through very to take advantage of the 20% credit purchase as well to bring the price down (also have an extra 10% at the moment). Thanks in advance!
  15. So my first game with Chelsea didn't go as expected (or to be fair it did compared to the our season in real life). Dominated a lot of games on xG but couldn't convert (familiar story) and by January I was 8th/9th in the league, out the Carabao Cup and FA cup at the 3rd round. I had multiple players fall out with me for teamtalks which to be honest weren't overly harsh considering the performances. Every game I played the press said I'd be sacked if I got a bad result. Overall I felt like I rushed the save, wasn't happy with my staff, tactics, approach etc and didn't feel that invested in it for various reasons so essentially self-sabotaged and got the board to sack me. To be fair based on how the board and fans felt towards me I would have been sacked at the end of the season unless the results improved massively. I'm waiting for a couple more editor files to be released in the next day or so and will start again. Have read through a lot of what you guys have been doing regarding tactics so going to actually try and create my own style rather than just blanket pick what the coaches say fits the XI the best.
