  1. You guys look like us against Georgia. In the groups it was pretty bad, but at least you were defending well. Today even the defending has been rubbish.
  2. I don't disagree, I do think handball rules are a bit harsh as it stands It became clearer which ones are handball and which ones aren't though. Otherwise it becomes a game of "is this shot close enough to call handball or not"
  3. They were the right calls though. It just "feels wrong" because it went in favour of the favourites instead of the underdogs.
  4. Good match, this. Germany are better but Denmark survived the initial onslaught and are looking dangerous on the counter
  5. Thinking about this, no wonder Italy look so much worse than last Euros. Barella and Chiesa are/were on the pitch but might as well not be because they're awfully out of form, Jorginho has declined and can't get even a spot anymore, Insigne and Spinnazolla are not there. That's all the players that created anything, and they've been replaced by... No one? Plus Calafiori and Di Marco who are two good players at carrying the ball are unavailable for this match. No wonder they couldn't progress the ball through the heavy press in the first half, nor break down a defence now
  6. Italy have had an absolute shocker but I'm wondering if the Swiss are becoming a bit of a sleeper candidates for going deep in the competition here. If they cross paths with England next I'm not entirely sure... The Swiss look at the peak of their game with key players like Xhaka and Akanji in the best moment of their careers, and most of this team has played together for years so they look gelled, unlike most teams in the competition.
  7. The Swiss well on top so far. Italy cornered near their area without much of an offensive outlet If Barella is injured they are truly ****ed
  8. Glad for Georgia. But that was utterly ****ing embarrassing today. No structure either going forward or at the back. Even for a meaningless game when we were already qualified, that was quite concerning.
  9. I love JJ Bull but Rice isn't a centerback. He's close though. Just ****ing play Bellingham next to Rice behind Foden. You could even keep the idea of Stones moving up Man City style, to midfield, which makes it a really solid rest defence 3-2 structure of Gomez-Guehi-Walker behind Rice-Stones, which in turn totally frees up Bellingham to run forward in a segundo volante kind of way. Letting England play a wide 4 in possession of Gordon-Foden-Bellingham-Saka behind Kane. Whilst remaining perfectly safe. But for whatever reason Gareth wants to be EVEN SAFER than that. Against Slovenia. Whilst already qualified.
  10. I thought you guys were better this match than the ones before which is really, really damning You're still making the final, because look at the draw, the seas have parted
  11. I'm a Portuguese guy that somehow survived the dark Fernando Santos days. I thank him for his service, and winning it in 2016 was great (though it can feel weirdly empty and meaningless to win an international trophy after dreaming of it all your life - it suddenly dawns on you that it's just a ****ing football match), but I don't regret one bit replacing him with Martinez. Even if we spectacularly crash out against France in the quarters or something, which is what I expect to happen. It is better to have fun watching your team and have a 10% chance of winning a competition, than to feel absolutely miserable watching every single match just so you can have a 15% chance. It's about time you guys do something similar. I actually didn't think you guys were that bad in previous tournaments, but something's feeling really off about this one.
  12. You can switch the entire team after the groups yes, but not during the knockouts. It's in the rules page: Phase Number of free transfers Before tournament starts Unlimited During group stage 2 per matchday Before round of 16 Unlimited Before quarter-finals 3 Before semi-finals 4 Before final 5
