  1. Looks like Rabiot is almost like left attacking midfield in attack, with Hernandez providing the pace out wide. Rabiot is good defensively too and it means he's coming into midfield too, something that Barcola or Coman can't do. So it makes sense really.
  2. Come on my freres, should have been 1-0. Rabiot is decent though, that wasn't his finest moment.
  3. For what it's worth, I can think of 1 - Christensen from the corner. But that's it. For 2 games, that's good!
  4. Can you find me an actual chance conceded? Not some outside of the box effort or a dangerous cross, but an actual chance.
  5. I wasn't suggesting that the forward pass is the optimal play, but there's certainly more chance of scoring a goal if the ball gets forward! More chance of an overturn also, but that's where there could mindset/confidence issues with the team come into it and how they're playing. No I was just stressing that the number you gave seemed awfully low as he gave it away 3/4 times and could have passed it forward a few more times too. I did read the rest, and it did surprise me to hear that he's not one for progressing the ball quickly via passes, which is by far the most effective way. Seems like a chink in his armour, but he's got more than enough talent for it to become a strength. I will say though that it wasn't Phillips game either, despite his strengths. Stats show that TAA broke lines via passes more than anybody yesterday, but England still struggled - This shows that this isn't the issue either way. Long winded way of saying that Rice passing it back isn't really a huge problem. It's just another micro detail that's gonna get attention.
  6. In fairness, how many chances have England actually conceded? Like, proper chances.
  7. I think I counted 9 out of 21 clips there where he had an obvious pass forward or he messed up. 5% is extremely generous.
  8. He is, it's just in that one scenario that I get nervous. Can be quite important though, which is why I don't have him down as press resistant. Good player though, wish he was more confident playing key passes.
  9. I've just had a brainwave, keepers always play those passes. He should be playing inverted keeper.
  10. Surely not, why wasn't he picked?! I thought Chilwell was decent?!
  11. If it helps, you can only improve from that performance.
  12. For the most part, yeah that's kind of a good summary, but when he gets the ball facing his own goal and being pressed hard, I get nervous.
  13. Bare in mind I've only seen him play a few times and the quality in performances seemed to wildly vary - Unfortunately against Liverpool he was class So comfortable in possession, it's really sad that he's at United. But that's fair, I'm asking because you mention Jones being press resistant but I don't see him that way as much as others, however I did view Mainoo as being in that bracket.
  14. I get what you mean, although I guess he could be solid but that would be a waste. I have faith that Southgate will look at yesterdays game and make some big changes. Mainoo in for Trent, Gordon for Foden are my guesses, I think that there'll be more balance because of the left now having some threat. I also imagine that he'll actually get his players to proactively press and boost their confidence a bit, which looks shot. Which is obviously the most important thing.
  15. Foden and Bellingham is a mouth watering prospect, but doesn't that leave Rice a bit unprotected?
  16. Does Southgate do the player ratings for Skysport? Conor Gallagher (for Alexander-Arnold) - 7 Brilliant clearance just before the hour ahead of Christian Eriksen and once again shored up England's midfield.
