  1. I have to agree with those here that are a bit worried about the UI after seeing those pictures. The whole "looking clean is not always efficient" comes to mind. My worry is that I won't have all the information I want at my fingertips anymore; it'll be spread out on several screens on little tiles that just seem to take up space more than anything. If I have to navigate through various screens to get what I need, that's not a good UI design. Anything that adds clicks just adds time, which is a killer for UI. I did like the one screen that show the match highlights though. There was more on there than is currently. And it was still easy to read.
  2. Yeah! And thanks for taking the time. You've already done a shift away from the 4-4-2 diamond, so much of what I wrote was food for thought for next time. The main thing is that I hope answering those questions, or even thinking about them explicitly for the first time, helped you. Really enjoying the career you've had so far. Feels real, especially with the story pieces you add in (conversations with your agent, etc.). Keep it up!
  3. Sorry, had stepped away for a bit, but I'm back now! I saw your note about whether you needed a tactical change during a period of rough form. That's always a tough question... To give you some background, I work in sports media, writing about MLS, the Canadian men's and women's teams, and a specific MLS team (no need to name names ). Also write a bit on the Canadian Premier League as well. I was chatting with the head coach of the team I follow about his tactical background and how he came up with what he believes and how to go about creating formations/tactics around his understanding of how the game should be played and his general philosophy. He said there is always a few immutable truths to every coach, the things they will NEVER compromise on. Much of these depends on the personal background of the coach, if they played, where they played, who taught them, clubs they follow, etc. So, I ask you, @Stuniverse - what are your immutable truths? What cannot be changed, no matter what? For this MLS coach, there's only three things, so it doesn't need to be much. But it will help you know yourself and what you believe makes this game so beautiful. Just a bit of food for thought. Happy to chat more if you like.
  4. I agree with this. Pushing up attacking fullbacks or wingbacks in the attack can be lethal, especially if they can cross and pass. And because your diamond is narrow, there shouldn't be any issues with congestion on the flanks with your own players.
  5. So, I haven't played CPL yet in FM, but I assume you will get to partake in the wonderful North American sports phenomenon known as... ... The Draft!! That's right! Just like MLS, the CPL has the CPL-U Sports Draft where you can select from eligible players from the U sports teams (the Canadian university leagues essentially). There's two rounds to the draft, which means you'll get to select two players that should be ready (or close to it) to slot into your starting team. This is in addition to your academy and youth players. So, look forward to that! Edit: I believe that draft-eligible players can also come from other academies that have aged out, like Canadian MLS academies.
  6. Wondered if you'd ever look at the Norway job. Would be a great say to bring in your players from Viking an give them minutes internationally.
  7. Yeah, it happens a lot mainly because the outskirts are the only places to fit stadiums I know you said you liked the black kit they wear, but you should check out their pink Cherry Blossom kit. Best one of the CPL this year.
  8. As a Vancouverite, I'm very happy to follow this! Odd fact: Vancouver FC is not actually in Vancouver. It's in Langley, about three cities over. But they went with the Vancouver name because it's more well-known. Doing great so far in the league!
  9. Yeah..sorry. Nothing I can see that is wrong from you.
  10. Great way to hold onto the title! Dramatic finish!
  11. That's a strange one. Seems to be something amiss there.
  12. I just took an amateur club up from the 4th division of Danish football to the 3rd division. The board has decided to go semi-pro as a result. The contract they offered me was for $0. Yep. Zero dollars. Suffice it to say, I tendered my resignation. They came back to me, asking me to reconsider. I said I would for an improved contract, to which they happily agreed. The improved contract? $0. There seems to be a couple bugs here: 1. In transition from amateur to semi-pro, should I receive a semi-pro contract like everyone else?? That has a wage? 2. In having the board agree to improved contract in order to not resign, shouldn't an improved contract be offered? Not the exact same that I've currently receiving? Save uploaded. Hope this helps!
  13. Ahh, good to know. Thanks for the response. This had been beyond frustrating! Edit: Although, now that I think about it...why wasn't my DoF following the rules set out by our scouting budget/range? Does he think this doesn't apply to him??
