  1. Is it classed as a tycoon takeover @Padders? Absolutely love the pumped £0 screenshot
  2. Thanks for all the kind messages guys, really appreciate it!
  3. Previous Post: 2072/73 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: Bit of a different screenshot, just to show the utter madness that was the final day. Any of the top 4 could win it, but sadly both Aberdeen and Hibs got a result. This is the first time in 9 years that we've not taken the league title - and I'm not entirely sure how. We either struggled or seemed to win by 3 or 4 goals. Cups: Another year, another year of no cup trophies. Actually means we end up the season with no domestic trophies - incredibly disappointing. Europe: TRANENT HAVE WON THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!! At the 4th time of asking, we've finally got over the line and attained the Champions League trophy! And who else but Steve Court has won it for us. Not just in this game, but to take a quick look at the top goal scorers: Yes, that's 25 Champions League goals in 16 games. To say we relied on him is a bit of an understatement! That's now the record for most goals in a Champions League year by a long shot. The full run here, with goalscorers included: Full History: Happy to have finally got this completed!
  4. Does that actually make you the richest club in the country now? Always feel it's a bit of a double edged sword with huge takeovers in youth saves.
  5. Previous Post: 2070/71 & 2071/72 Season Report (Apologies, was playing a bit on holiday and finished off 71/72 this morning at home) Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership 70/71 League: 71/72 league: A 9 point lead in 70/71 turned into a 24 point gap in 71/72. We were pretty much top the entire time in the 2nd season. There's not too much to say here - Rangers are completely mid-table in the Championship now and didn't get back promoted in either of the seasons. Hearts actually got relegated in 71/72 so enter next season in League 1. 70/71 Cups: No trophies for us here. 71/72 Cups: Or here. I think this is first time for a while I've not won a cup. The board are still wanting me to reach the Semi Final of both, although I'd appreciate the League Cup not being important! I'm using mostly reserve teams in every cup match at the moment as I'm trying to keep the starters as fit as possible for the Champions League games. 70/71 Europe: 71/72 Europe: Inter enact revenge for us knocking them out last year in a very cruel way: We were a step behind the entire game, although found ourselves 1-0 up through a gift from the Inter defence. We actually looked fairly solid until an awful deflection saw them equalise. We just couldn't hold on in extra time till penalties or find a goal ourselves. That's our third final loss in six years. Gut punch doesn't quite come close to how I feel! Youth Intake: Few interesting ones here, along with some handy personalities in the 2nd intake. Last 5 Years:
  6. Spent ages doing this round up, waiting for the World Cup to end and then closed the tab after doing it all. Ugh. Attempt 2. Tranent Round-Up Anyway.. onto a round-up of Tranent! Goalkeepers: Paupol Massamba has been our number 1 for just over a decade, but he's starting to come towards the end of his career. We have Matteo Manzoni who is pretty much your bench keeper who "never plays but can do so in a pinch and be okay" kind of keeper. We do have Andrew Bannigan as a good youth prospect who has since this screenshot's been taken gone to relegated Rangers in the Championship and will be their first choice keeper for the 70/71 season. Full Backs: We're a bit short in the full back department, but we've got a couple of decent full backs. Joe Brown is our starter at right back with Hamish Grant on the left. We have Kelby Rudden as a back-up who can rotate in, but we tend to use some central defenders in the right back position if we're struggling. Centre Backs: We're relatively good in the centre back department, having gone through a bit of a transition with a number of players at the 32/33 stage. Our current starting centre backs are Cameron Macdonald and Jock McGinnes. We've seemingly got 3 players as back-ups who are all relatively the same, with the stand out being Lewis Tart. For youth prospects, Kieran Horgan is looking like our best option at the moment. Defensive Midfield: We have what I'd consider the first of our "elite players" here in Ally Collins. Equally adept in central defence and central midfield, I generally play Collins in the heart of the team in defensive midfield. Generally great all-round player who we rejected a £90m bid from Bayern Munich for over the summer. We do have a couple of our central midfielders who can cover, but our best youth prospect is currently Stephen Quinn. Central Midfielders: Onto our second elite player in Brian Leighton. I actually thought he'd improve more, but he is on that cusp of being an excellent player so I won't complain too much. The other centre midfield spot is pretty contested at the moment. We have a couple of older players in Ryan Robertson and Sam Gordon, complemented by Ross Irving who can cover the defensive midfield spot too. On the more youthful side, we have Darren Cowan (who opted out of his contract and planned to leave before changing his mind in February thankfully!), Marcelo Pastoriza and apparently high potential Jim Crawford although I can't see it too much! Wingers: Similar to our centre back situation, we're blessed to an extent with a lot of 7/10 players but no real extremely strong players. On the right, Callum Currid (who had originally played on the left till the end of this season), Aidan McGinlay and Aleksander Zhelyazkov (who originally started up front as a striker). On the left it's a bit rougher, but looks more promising. James Hudson and Kyle Wilson are 2 options, but we'll likely go with Taylor Malcolm (who appeared on the NXGN list) who has massively shot up in ability in the last 6 months. He even made his Scotland debut before his Tranent debut! Strikers: I don't need to say much here - Steve Court is by far our best player and is one of the leading European strikers at this point. He's probably the reason we couldn't get past the Quarter Final in the Champions League until he really made his mark in the team in 2066/67 (we lost to Man City in the final that year in our first appearance). Our best youth prospect is apparently Andrew Kerr - although decent mentally, will take a lot of work. For the time being, our only out and out striker back up is Kamel Amrouche. Speaking of Steve Court still, it is still quite surprising he only has 19 caps for Scotland, but he's being kept out of the starting striker spot by none other than ex-Tranent man Connor Grant. Although he's probably nearly at the cut off point for Court taking over. Not a horrible situation for Scotland to be in at all! Around the World: Premier League - Ligue 1 - Bundesliga - Serie A - La Liga Champions League - Europa League - Conference League Euros - World Cup
  7. I'd actually been resigned to losing him as he said he wasn't interested, and then in pops a message in the inbox saying he's grumbling about not being offered a new deal yet. Don't think I've pressed the offer contract button quicker!! I'll pop a round up just below this - I've not done one for a while and I'm due probably!
  8. Previous Post: 2069/70 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: A last day league win against St Johnstone of all teams! Although the more interesting thing happened - one of the Old Firm are finally down! There's not actually much to say about the league this far in - I was rotating massively early in the season which is why we're not putting up 90+ points every season. Cups: We got dumped out of the League Cup at the first hurdle for us by Championship side Partick Thistle. Might have gone a biiiit too weak in that game. Europe: 3-1 up in the Semi Final with 7 minutes left. I'm fed up of losing in absolutely gutting circumstances in the Champions League at the moment!! Very clearly one of the better sides in the CL at the moment, but English sides will be the bane of my existance right now. Youth Intake: Not too much here - was gutted to see the Madagascar player not be good. We've also gone shopping in Brazil it seems? Other Business: Another NXGN player here - Malcolm was actually still in my under 18s at this point! A Steve Court update as well as he's pretty much world class at this point - the first one I've been able to keep a hold of (and he's signed a new contract!): Absolutely popped off this year with 49 goals - full stats here. He signed a new contract half way through the season (after making noises about wanting to leave), so I'm actually confident of keeping him for the forseeable future. He's only 21 as well, so this Champions League window I've mentioned might be a long one! Last 5 Years:
  9. Sorry Padders, took a few days off! Twice in the last 3 years now. I'm in a decent spot for maybe 3 more years with the players we've got, so we've still got quite a big window to win it.
  10. Previous Post: 2068/69 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: Another league win - we were actually quite far ahead but we were resting quite a lot in the run up to the end of the season. Cups: We retain the Scottish Cup (after a couple of scares!) but lose in the League Cup Final to St Johnstone. Europe: We come up 1 short again! We got to this stage a couple of years ago before collapsing to Man City, but this time? It was actually an incredibly boring final with not much to say: 1 shot on target, which was a penalty. Absolutely gutting. We're getting so so close to finishing this off and we've at least still got a decent window with our best players in their early to mid 20s. We'll get there, but these final losses hurt! Youth Intake: A couple of decent potentials in there, but nobody near starting or in the first team. We got lucky with Connor Grant a few years ago, but I doubt we'll get there again. Other Business: Don't usually comment on goals/assists from a season, but we actually had a very down season from Steve Court. Although our front 5 (I play a 4-3-3 with 2 central midfielders, 2 wingers and a striker) combined for this: That 6.96 average rating kind of sticking out a bit there! Last 5 Years:
  11. Previous Post: 2067/68 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: As close as this seems, it didn't actually feel it. Did get slightly nervous towards the end, but pulled through with that massive goal difference. Not actually too much to mention here - Rangers flirting with relegation playoff although they've seemingly been a mid-table team for quite a long time now. Cups: We end up with another domestic treble including a lovely 7-0 demolition of Rangers in the Semi Final. We actually played Arbroath a week before in the league and beat them 7-1, so that was a bit of a gulf in class. We're pretty comfortably the best team in Scotland now with the only reason we're getting lower points totals is because of the intent to try get the Champions League. Europe: We've at least broken through past that Quarter Final stage, this time in spectacular fashioning by demolishing Real Madrid 4-1 at the Bernabeu. We're so close now, ugh! Youth Intake: I've realised now I've forgotten to do the personalities here, but there's nothing major missed. We've got depth all over the squad right now, so thankfully we're not in desperate need of any position players. Other Business: As you'll see a little bit below, we've ended up with some huge average ratings over this year. I'll do a full round up of the squad next year, but just for now... We've got a very good spine of 4 younger players, which is why I think we're setup to make a good charge at the Champions League in the next few years. Cameron Macdonald (DC) - Not quite an World Class player, but a really well rounded player at the heart of our defence. He did have a Perfectionist personality, but has gone down to Resolute. The oldest player at 23 in our spine, Macdonald's started for us for the past 6 years and probably will for a few more. Ally Collins (DM) - One of our Wonderkid's, Collins can pretty much do any job but I'm playing him at the moment at our defensive midfield spot in our 4-3-3. Not so many high attributes, but a bunch of 14 and 15s everywhere. Couple more years of development and I reckon he'll be one of the better midfielders in the world. Steve Court (SC) - The first player that I think will be genuinely World Class for us and our other Wonderkid at the club. We've finally got our reputation to a point where these guys don't want minimum fee clauses, so Court is the first we've had being able to develop. A bit like Collins, another couple of years and I think he'll be a bit of a physical beast as well as better mentally. Last 5 Years:
  12. Previous Post: 2066/67 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: Bit of a bigger picture but if you look at the bottom of the screen and then their points total and you might see why.... I feel like that's the most "St Johnstone" thing to happen to them. Constantly missing out on winning the league by a couple points here and there over the past 15/20 years, then the year they get a points deduction they would have enough to win the league. Sucks for them! We had far, far too many draws this year which kept bringing us down, but we were fighting on every front and having to constantly rotate which I think caught up with us eventually. Cups: We retain the League Cup, but lose out to Ross County in the Scottish Cup. Europe: We seem to be an absolute beast at home in Europe! That home form got us through to the final for the first time in our history, before getting blown out by Man City: My heart rate at half time, 1-0 up with 10 men was... something. Unfortunately we just completely ran out of gas. If we can repeat this next year, then we can definitely get ourselves to another final. For the first time, I wasn't that cautious of facing the top teams in the knockouts considering we battered Barcelona 4-0 at home in the League Phase. Was a bit underwhelming in the end in the final, but at least we've been able to get there. Youth Intake: Completely forgot to take a screenshot of the youth intake, so here's all the 15/16 year olds we've currently got in the academy (apologies for the zoom out, this was the only way for 1 screenshot!): Other Business: I'd actually seen this on Twitter and elsewhere, but amusing nonetheless: Last 5 Years:
  13. Previous Post: 2065/66 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: Three in a row now and I'd like to think it's fairly safe to say we've finally stepped up to that next level that's been evading us for so long! It was actually another very straight forward season and we were a class above anyone in the league itself. Annoyingly, the only 2 losses were after the League Cup Final and on the last day to St Johnstone. Defence only conceding 23 times was fantastic, although a lot of that was in the 2nd half of the season through rotations and resting players. Cups: Absolutely destroyed in the League Cup, although we did get away with a penalty win in the Scottish Cup against St Johnstone. Means we take a nice and our first domestic treble! Europe: We get through to the Quarter Final for the first time and we narrowly lose out to eventual winners Barcelona. We're getting closer and closer and we're definitely starting to get there. Had a lovely reunion with Connor Grant who apparently still likes us: He'd have probably got us over the "dominating" Scotland step a couple years earlier than I did if he stayed. Not that I'm salty or anything.. Youth Intake: Again, not actually that much to see in our Youth Intake. Although we're having so many players develop that our staff get wrong it's a bit silly now. Other Business: We've got 2 players in the NXGN list, landing 1st and 6th! Brian Leighton and Steve Court. Leighton is probably the first player I've had that I've been able to keep hold of that is very clearly too good for the Scottish Premiership. Another year or so of development and he might be able to get into that World Class group. Court on the other hand looks to have some real high potential and has the highest value of anyone in the league by about £40m. He'll be getting a lot of minutes in this upcoming season, as I'd sent him on loan to Hearts for the 2nd half of the year last year and he completely ripped apart the Championship. Last 5 Years:
  14. Previous Post: 2064/65 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: Have we finally kicked up another level? We actually started quite slowly, but after about November, we just seemed unstoppable. There's a fairly clear difference between our league games and our European games (as you'll see), but we've hopefully got to the point where we can actually start dominating the league. The youth players breaking through are of the highest standard we've ever had and we're seemingly doing a better job of keeping our best players now. We still don't have a talismanic figure who is head and shoulders above everyone in the squad, but we're so much more better all over the pitch instead. Cups: "So much more better all over the pitch instead" he says. Gets knocked out of both cups reasonably early. Probably why we ended up going on a massive run in the league! Europe: We get knocked out of the Champions League in the League Phase for the first time in 12 years. Aleksandar Zhelyazkov picked up a broken leg playing for Bulgaria at the start of October and you can see we found finding the back of the net difficult without him in those European games. We've actually got a very good defence, but we just couldn't find the back of the net as only one more point would've seen us scrape through. World: Oh this is a new thing...! Due to our Conference League win and winning the competition in a "good" year, we actually qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup! Somehow we almost won the entire thing! A 94th minute equaliser from Real Madrid, which to be fair was incredibly deserved, meant we lose in the final. We do seem to be on the edge of an "interesting" season at least. A breakthrough is coming at some point! Youth Intake: I missed the youth candidates filter on the squad, annoyingly so it's a little bit out of order! Some good depth here, none of them look anywhere close to getting near the first team though sadly. We are struggling a little bit for top, top prospects, but considering at this point I'm sending anyone that can go out on loan on loan to get football, it's actually meaning we're getting depth in the first team out of nowhere. I'd have given up on a few of the 2-3 star potential players previously, but as they're getting first team football almost instantly, they're progressing a lot quicker I've found. Last 5 Years:
  15. Previous Post: Didn't actually realised I'd played through two seasons, oops! 2062/63 & 2063/64 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: 2062/63: 2063/64: Two round-ups as I thought I'd actually posted until I came to quote my previous post! Going so close in 62/63 was a bit of a heartbreak, but we seemed to be closing the gap and then somewhat out of nowhere, we absolutely stomped the league in 63/64, taking home our first title in 9 years. We seemed to have made a fairly big step up, particularly with the younger players coming through. Instead of keeping them in the youth academy, I'm sending them out on loan to whoever wants to take them and give them starting time. This does seem to have made a bigger difference, although we did give up Bede Simon for the 62/63 season to make sure he started. Cups: 62/63: 63/64: Getting dumped out early in 62/63 was a bit demoralising. Although lumbering somehow to another Scottish Cup Final in 63/64 was interesting considering we absolutely limped past lower league opposition the entire time! Europe: 2062/63: 2063/64: Another Conference League win! They're actually surprisingly simple as a bigger team with the only real challenges coming in the Semi Final and the Final. Absolutely brought back to life in the Champions League though - we're clearly just knocking at the door of the top table, but can't break through it. It is a bit more fun in the Conference League, quite enjoy nearly winning every game! Youth Intake: 2062/63: 2063/64: Even had the screenshots from the old youth intake saved, so no panic there! Steve Court looking the pick of the bunch here. Last 5 Years:
  16. I keep having the exact same thing happen nearly every year to 1 player and it's got to the point where I'm just not relying on any reports and it's incredibly frustrating to an extent, but also quite enjoyable. It's definitely a huge switch from FM23 that's a bit under the radar. I've been switching to just loaning players straight out as youngsters regardless of age, which has now caused a bit of an interesting season.
  17. Jealous of Clark! Looks like such a good all rounder in midfield there. I do realise how slow the progress is with Tranent when I read your updates I'm blessed with a squad full of players that are like just under that Clark/Morton band of players, but can't seem to get any over that line and those that do ask for minimum fee release clauses.
  18. Previous Post: 2061/62 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: I'd say we had quite a poor year, but had to wait till the relegation playoff was completed to see what happened to Hearts! Also says a lot about how close 3rd to 7th was, when Arbroath finish 26 points ahead of 8th place because of the split! Hibernian get another title, 3rd in a row, 5th in 6 years. They're pretty much far and away the best team in Scotland. Although they are spending about £50m-£70m every year, so I'm not too surprised! They are getting past the UCL League Phase, but no further. So a bit similar to us. I'm actually a little thankful we get a shot at the Conference League again - there's only maybe 4 or 5 sides I'd consider better than us (9th placed PL Bournemouth, 6th placed L1 Monaco, 7th placed Bundesliga Hamburg, 7th placed SA Genoa and 8th placed LL Espanyol) and even then, they're not exactly the strongest sides. Europe: I'll do this slight Europe update here (apologies, I've played a few games into the 62/63 season!): We should pull well clear of Portugal after the next season, and then we should really get into 5th by the season after, especially looking at the horror 58/59 season by Scottish clubs. That would add another UCL place for us which we would most definitely not say no to! Bloody hate English teams. Going out to Man Utd isn't horrible as they're one of the top 3/4 sides in the world, but wouldn't mind a bit more luck in the draw. And to get me past the Round of 16: Fully expect to get knocked out by Bournemouth in the Conference League. Cups: Not too much to say here, our run of Scottish Cup finals are over but we're getting quite far every year at least. Youth Intake: 3 higher potential players, but nothing to shout home about. I seem to promote a player every year that has 3 star potential from a group that ends up being one of my better players. Other Business: Zhelyazkov gets third in the u21 awards. Annoyingly, ex-Tranent Connor Grant gets first. This is the 2nd time where we've had this happen - if we can get our best prospects and hold them even till 21 or 22, we'll end up going a lot further in the UCL. Solomon Frimpong: Goodbye, my sweet prince. 1024 all time appearances for the club will very likely never be beaten. He takes up a role as the u18 assistant manager whilst I try my best to send him on coaching courses. It feels very, very weird playing this save without having him in the starting 11 or bench now. Last 5 Years:
  19. Previous Post: 2060/61 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: Miss out on the title by 3 points, agony! The league is actually settling down now thankfully. I'd mentioned a couple years back that I felt that Hibs were probably the best side in Scotland and now they've bagged consecutive titles. Rangers are getting closer to that drop zone though.... There's not actually much to comment here - it was actually a fairly straightforward season as you'd expect a team like us to have! Europe: This was actually quite painful when I was playing the Round of 16 game, but looking back we got a very very fortunate draw in the League Phase I think. We only lose 1 match in Europe and it's the one that counted the most! We're helped a lot by having quite a bit of depth now so we can challenge the bigger clubs a bit more, but we're still quite a way off getting even close to the final I think. Cups: So close to doing the double in cups! We finally let go of our stranglehold on the Scottish Cup, losing to Hearts on penalties. Youth Intake: No screenshot for this year sadly. May have forgotten to take it, apologies! This is our current 15 and 16 year old players (I've taken this in August of the following season, so we've loaned out 3 players from this): Bede Simon still progressing quite well and I've sent him out to FC Edinburgh/Edinburgh City for the year. I'm hoping the year of regular football will do him as well as it did Zhelyazkov! Other News: Solomon Frimpong has done it! He has made it to over 1k appearances for the club at the age of 39. He actually doesn't seem too bothered about retiring and he is being helped by us not being able to keep our wingers too much (and he's a handy poacher up front!). We are technically the 13th best club in Europe. Which is probably a bit higher than what I see myself, but it can kind of being seen what I'm testing myself up against. That loss against Man Utd in the round of 16 probably shouldn't be seen so badly... Last 5 Years: No full history any more, this saves gone on that long you won't be able to see most of the information!
  20. Apologies, completely missed this! Macdonald and Simon. This is a year on and I've just sent them out on loan to FC Edinburgh/Edinburgh City (they play in the league below). Simon's unfortunately gone Balanced, but Macdonald is still a perfectionist. FC Edinburgh are actually proving incredibly useful for me at the moment, I tend to send my best 3 youth players there every year and they're getting playoffs every year. Zhelyazkov, Massamba, Martin, O'Donnell were all there out of my starters at the moment.
  21. Anyone had anything like this? 2 Irish sides who both have about 90 players at their clubs (not just u19 players too). They're not decent players, but is a bit weird they're here.
  22. Previous Post: 2059/60 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: Nearly the most sane and calm league we've had in Scotland for about 20 years now. Everyone roughly finished whereabouts they should finish, with Celtic and Hearts underachieving quite a bit here. We had a bit of a shocking start (8 points from the first 7 games) which meant we lost ground on Hibs who almost led from start to finish. We're now at the point where we've got one of the best defences in the league finally (it helps when you're able to keep your players!) with the back-ups being of a decent enough standard to sub in as well. We finished poorly as well which didn't help, although reasons for that are below... Europe: Still not the big trophy, but we're getting closer and closer every few years! Results: We lost 3 games in the Europa League and somehow both of them were to teams that I really shouldn't have been losing to! We really should have breezed past Betis in the Semi Final too, but we surrendered a 2-0 lead to somehow lose 4-2 and then blew them off the park in the return leg in Scotland. On first glance, facing Liverpool in a European final, I expected a bit of a battering considering my record against English sides. However they're actually a mid-table team at the moment, only getting into Europe by finishing 7th, only 2 points ahead of 11th! We left it a liiiiitle bit late, but Zhelyazkov is becoming a bit of a hero for us! Top scorer in the Europa League itself with 14 goals, he left his most important 2 till the last moment! I'd have actually been incredibly disappointed if we lost considering how tight it was. Cups: In the words of a great poet, "Oops, I did it again!". That's 4 consecutive Scottish Cups for us now. We're apparently a cup team now. Might actually help in the Champions League if we can get out the League Phase next year! We're still not good enough to go far in the main cup though, so anything past the Round of 16 in the Champions League would be a success for us really. Youth Intake: Although what does help is a rather decent intake! 2 Full 5 star potentials, both with Perfectionist personalities? Loving. It. Cameron Macdonald and Bede Simon both look rather decent, although the last few prospects we've had like this haven't actually got anywhere close to decent ability so I'm a bit more cautious now! They will obviously be helped by our beloved Solomon Frimpong in the under 18s whilst he finishes his career. He's still not fallen off from the last screenshot (although the physicals are starting to go). Still popped up with another 11 goal season in 32 league games, so he's still very useful. He's also on 969 total appearances for the club, so there might be some lovely 90th minute sub appearances for him next season to get him to the 1000 mark! Full History: Last 5 Years:
  23. Previous Post: 2059/60 Season Preview & Save Round-Up: Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership Our current team! Screenshots: Solomon Frimpong The absolute cult hero of my Tranent save, a note about him here as I'm actually incredibly shocked I'm still playing him. His league history is something to behold, but he's now up to 915 all time Tranent appearances, scoring 500 goals (with his 500th being a Scottish Cup winner...!) I actually thought he'd struggle a bit past the 2054/55 season, but seemingly writing him off absolutely pissed him off as he's actually improving year upon year and somehow is still able to play around 30 league matches a year. He's still not quite fallen off physically and he's still able to do a job on the left wing and up front especially with his decent mental attributes. For the eagle eyed amongst you, you'll have noticed he's now our u18 Assistant Manager, with our manager being Williams Innocent who I'm still quite surprised he's with us as he's been here since the 2052 season. Thomas Scott & Connor Grant These are the two best players we've produced at my time at Tranent, with Scott being one of the worlds best currently. Sadly for Scott, he actually joined at a time where La Liga was starting to be dominated by the other team from Madrid, Atletico, and their old rivals Barcelona. He's managed 1 La Liga title in his 8 season career at Real Madrid so far. He's also only ever appeared at one major international tournament for Northern Ireland, where his first taste was to get blown out 5-0 by none other than... Scotland. After failing to get to the 2058 World Cup, he retired from international football at the very early age of 28. Actually quite a sad story and one where he just ended up always at the wrong place at the wrong time somewhat. On the other end of their career is 18 year old Connor Grant who was our starting centre forward for 2 years at the age of 15! I mentioned above that Thomas Scott retired after failing to get to the 2058 World Cup, well Connor Grant actually debuted for Scotland during that World Cup at 17 years old. How did it go? Rather good! I've sadly not got a sell on clause for Grant as Leipzig triggered his minimum fee release clause. Could well go for a large amount of money in the future if he keeps his development up! World Football: Quite an interesting range of winners, with Scotland getting their first in 2058 in Japan. Probably shows I should be doing a bit better with Tranent... Scotland also managed to get to the final of the 2056 Euros where they ended up losing to the Auld Enemy! Apparently seeing England win a trophy against Scotland pissed them off so much, Scotland's response was to win the World Cup. If that's not being true Scottish people, then I don't know what is! European Football: Champions League - Europa League - Conference League There's actually not been too many surprises in the European competitions here. There's still no real change in the Champions League winners. Porto managing a UCL win in 44/45 and FC Kobenhavn winning a UEL in 34/35 are the only 2 shocks across all 3 competitions. -------------------------- If anyone has any screenshots or history they would like to see, feel free to ask!
  24. Previous Post: 2058/59 Season Report Club: Tranent FC (Scotland) League: Scottish Premiership League: Back with some Tranent content! It's been nearly a month so will do another post a bit later on with a round up of the team and and outlook on 2059/60. We've basically finished roughly where I think we are in terms of quality, so this is actually a reasonably decent season to pick up with. St Johnstone finally pick up their first league title after several years of under-achieving. This now means we've had 7 different winners in the last 15 years, with 6 different winners in the last 7 years (again!): It's actually quite difficult to tell who the best team in Scotland is now, although you'd probably lean towards Hibernian but they seem to absolutely love finishing 2nd. Europe: If Hibs like finishing 2nd, then we love getting knocked out at the Round of 16 in any European competition at the moment! We also seem to love getting knocked out by English clubs lately as well. West Ham this year and then Arsenal the previous 2 years. They're far and away the best league in the world so I'm not too surprised. Just hoping that they can knock themselves out at some point! Cups: I'd usually just link this in a url and not post the picture, but this has to be seen to be believed somewhat. We went 4-2 up against Arbroath in the 94th minute at home and I was pretty happy we were going through. The players on the other hand...? 2 96th minute goals sends us to extra time and then we lose on penalties. Nightmare. The Scottish Cup was a little bit more kind to us though! That's now our third consecutive Scottish Cup win. I'd kinda prefer to be getting knocked out and taking 3 consecutive league titles, but this will at least help the club! And those who are paying attention - yes, Solomon Frimpong is still here, banging in cup final winning goals at 37 years old. More on him in the next post.... (spoiler alert, he's actually had 2 of his best seasons for years!). Youth Intake: Quick note on the youth intake - nothing extremely special in terms of ability, but I am very happy to get another high potential central defender! We're now very stable at the club, so it's a bit easier hanging onto players and improving them. Full History: Last 5 Years:
  25. Back after a bit of a mid-year FM break, so the Tranent journey shall be continuing later! Although coming back to find @XaWdoing a Hexagon (?) challenge for youth academy is... something. That is some achievement so far, sir!
