Previous: 2043/44 Season Report: Club: Tigres/Deportivo Guadalajara (Mexico) Nation: N/A A twofer special here! Tigres: League - Playoffs - Cup - North America (N/A) Deportivo Guadalajara: League - Cup (N/A) - North America Liga MX: Had to check about 4 times, but I'm able to knock Mexico off my list with an Apertura win here with Tigres. I actually started incredibly inconsistent, but the further we got into the season, the more we were a bit unstoppable! Although saying that, I did get INCREDIBLY lucky in the Semi Final - literally only going through because we were a higher see than Tijuana. Cups: I'm gonna be honest - I genuinely had no clue what exact cup I was aiming for here. Nevertheless, it didn't end well! Knocked out by Monterrey on penalties - was absolutely gutted here. Should have been a competition we won and I probably needed to win given the disparity between how many leagues I've won and cups! CONCACAF Champions League: Over to Deportivo Guadalajara for this! After a mid-season move, which was 100% about having the opportunity to win the Champions League, we take home the North American competition... quite easily? Considering how shocking Guadalajara's year was, I had my eye on the job almost from taking over Tigres. The board eventually pulled the trigger right before the Semi Final and I nipped in and claimed all the glory! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Just for my sanity - I am allowed to count that Champions League win, right? Previous: 2042/43 Season Report: Club: Lille (France) Country: N/A League - Cup - Europe Ligue 1: After 6 and a half seasons... we've finally got it! It came down to the last day, but ourselves and PSG were absolutely miles ahead of the rest of the league. We were both unbeaten for about 22 games to start, which involved very loud sighs from me, thinking PSG were going to have one of those kind of seasons they are known for on FM. Alas, we were able to prevail and finally take home that last major league. Now... let the adventure begin! Coupe de France: You would have thought looking at this, that I had rested my main team looking to concentrate elsewhere. Yeah.... no. I went out in very embarrassing fashion against Dunkerque. It was both an acceptable loss and an unacceptable loss. UEFA Champions League: We needed a 93rd minute goal to beat Bayern, but we finally got over our Quarter Final hoodoo... only to lose to PS... bloody G. On penalties! I actually thought we could have won this this year, but a penalty loss to PSG led us to a Semi Final loss. So, we're finally able to leave European land (albeit we may be back at some point), and our first port of call? History:

Previous: 2041/42 Season Report: Club: Lille (France) Country: N/A League - Cup - Europe Ligue 1: ARGH I'M SO CLOSE! 5 points behind PSG, but we can only have ourselves to blame as we drew a massive 11 games. Incredibly disappointing for me here - not entirely sure what to add. Coupe de France: I'm not sure what happened to Ligue 2 Metz this season, but they decided to put on a show in the Coupe de France. They beat Monaco, myself and Rennes all on the way to winning the Coupe de France. PSG were knocked out by Rennes in the Semi Final on penalties too! I'm bloody glad I won this competition already because if I hadn't, I'd be throwing everything out of the window probably! (I've played through quite a bit of the 42/43 season - Metz advanced into the knockout rounds of the Europa League...whilst still in Ligue 2!) UEFA Champions League: Another Champions League Quarter Final defeat and it seems we've got a bit of a hoodoo on our hands here. Last year we go out to Man City, this year we go out to Man Utd. Just take me out of Manchester please! I thought we could actually win the competition when we beat Juventus. However after a bit of a look - no Italian side has got to the final, never mind won, of the CL since the 22/23 season. History:

Previous: 2040/41 Season Report: Club: Lille (France) Country: N/A League - Cup - Europe France Ligue 1: *Insert Jaws Music* We're almost there - we've got the team to compete with PSG on a good level, but losing twice to them this season hurt us massively. This feels a bit like my season with Dortmund before we won the Bundesliga - we're incredibly close and it'll just take 1 or 2 players to put us over the edge. Coupe de France: A competition, a bit like Europe, that isn't too important to us right now. We played a bit of a rotated team in this competition to concentrate on both the league and Europe. UEFA Champions League: Considering our performance in the group, I'm actually incredibly disappointed we got knocked out by Man City in the way we did. We managed to knock Real Madrid out, but went 1-0 up away to Man City in the knockouts and then completely collapsed. We've still got to try and get an Asian National Team job, but as soon as the Ligue 1 title is captured that's when we stop staying at clubs for more than 2 years! History:

Previous: 2038/39 & 2039/40 I was fairly sure I did a round-up for the 38/39 season but came to post 39/40 and didn't see it so a double update again. 38/39: League - Cup - Europe 39/40: League - Cup - Europe 2039 Gold Cup: Results France Ligue 1: We're getting closer... A bit of a meh 38/39 campaign after some building blocks were put in, we were much better in 39/40 especially defensively. However an absolutely terrible end to the season left us 3rd, when we should have at least finished within 3 points of PSG, if not better. We're not too far off them thankfully, but they're still an incredible team. Coupe de France: You can really tell who I'm having trouble with in this challenge! 38/39 we get knocked out in the Semi Finals by PSG - not wholly unexpected, but still greatly annoying. We're not having huge amounts of trouble with teams, a couple of penalty wins aside against other Ligue 1 opposition, but it's also that team from Paris that causes issues! Thankfully, we managed to get past them in 39/40 and take home the first piece of silverware that I've been able to for a while! UEFA Champions League/Europa League: As I've said previously - I don't need to win the Champions League but I'll always give it a decent go. That being said, I'm not really doing anything with Lille. A Europa League Semi Final appearance is probably the best we're going to get for now, before emerging Huesca took us out. 2039 Gold Cup: As shown in the last post - we managed to get the Mexico job and we entered as overwhelming favourites to get the win. With that being said, I expected more of a challenge as cocky as that sounds! In 6 games, we scored 6 or more goals 4 times, and the only team we scored less than 4 against was Trinidad & Tobago in the Group Stage! A very straightforward final against USA awaited us as well.
