Night and day difference from then and now but one thing that hasnt changed is its addictivenessi'm 2 old now haha these game come along way now tho0 -
good old days indeed. not too many remember cm italiai know what you saying but you have to look at that time parma was 1 of the best teams in europe. and also when i played that i just need eric cantona he was a best on it. but hated when squads got full could not sell a player. good old days0 -
Thats hypothetical tho. what if's dont count as 'made it'. what if i never bust my knee when i was 15, i could have been a world beater lol a couple of caps for italy compared with 100 in cm. know what i mean?he played 2 are 3 times for italy so yes but with these games players ha pa so irl if he dint gt a bad injury who to say he wunt be a world beater.0 -
My point is Melli was the best player in cm italia by a mile. he was the most valuble player on the transfer screen no matter who he plyed for and the guy u 'had' to have. I can think of a dozen better players from around that time who were better. probably a dozen italians actually! ask 10 people if they know of melli these days and 9 would look puzzled. however they would ryhme off names like,Vialli,Ravanelli,Baggio etc. all of whom couldnt lace melli's boots on cm italiabut after parma he went to milan and got a bad injury0 -
so he never 'made it' then.but after parma he went to milan and got a bad injury0 -
he was good irl tho for parma
not european cup winning, world player of the year good tho, was he. he was ok irl. nothing special like his cm alter ego!

Allessandro Melli was awesome on cm italia. was always a scramble between me and my mates to get him as he was the 'best player in the game'. didnt have the best of careers irl tho.But you have Ferrah Orosco (Cambridge)Paulo/Pietro Zaini on CM Italia way back in the day (Ascoli is memory serves) - Awesome midfielder

80 million in 01/02? groundbreaking stuff!!Nicola Ventola and Steve McPhee would be a cracking partnership for me on cm01/02!(slightly off topic there was a window of about 3 game days on cm01/02 where you could get Pirlo for about 3 million, and he would often go for 80million a bit later in the game!

Steven Pearson of motherwell at the time signed for ma arsenal 00/01 season and went on to become a world class legendary midfielder winning world player of the year on a few occasions.

Willie Howie of partick thistle was the frank lampard of the late 90's early 2000's in cm. used to get like 25/30 goals from midfield for my man utd save. signed for buttons. plied his trade in scottish juniour football after leaving thistle! prime example i think

I was feeling a little nostalgic and thinking about FM's/Champs of the past going way back to cm italia in 93'.
Ive played every version since and got to thinking about players in the game that were awsome that never repeated it irl.
here is my top 3: tommy svindal larsen
tonton zola moukoko
