After watching a league for 7 or 8 months, yes id have a pretty good idea.

Im talking about Data updates that are out when the season has been going for 7 8 or 9 months, Its usually March or April that a Data update is released is it not?  So in short YES, you have a very good idea of who is doing what then....

Nobody is moaning about people being able to see the future ffs.....

You have completely missed the whole point of this...

Its about players and teams playing as they are in real life after watching them from when the leagues start in AUGUST...... TIL THE DATA UPDATE....

So in short, yes im sure we can expect players and teams to be performing somewhere near the level they are irl after watching them for circa 7 or 8 months..

Nobody expects it to completely replica real life, howerver we do expect a certain degree of realisim.

    Thank you.

It is a game, not real life. As soon as you hit continue on the first screen there are ALOT more factors to how the league table pans out in game than just our data. Player morale, game mechanics, transfers, managerial changes are all things us as researchers cannot control.

As @RandomGuy. has said, it is end of January that is our cut off for the data updates, at that time, the table was pretty tight, I mean as an Aberdeen fan, I was hoping Warnock was going to tighten us and take us into the top 6.

@Stuart Milne Both Abada and O'Riley's  sell on clause still need be bought twice, same goes for O'Riley's instalments.

I mean it's a simple fix in the editor but still, would've took one of you less than a minute to fix.

It doesnt look like anythings different at us either, Taylor Stevens loan to Alloa not added.

All a big strange as other countries are reported as missing simple database fixes too, did someone up top forget to switch things? 😂

I have the in-game editor and fixed the Le Fondre wage issue myself on my save. But you’re right it takes less than 30 seconds to fix something as small issue as that.

Probably best just to give a link to this reply from Dean Gripton explaining the situation. We were locked out on 18th October so no, it neither would have taken us 30 seconds or a minute to fix because us researchers (and even head researchers) can't go in and fix it. This is also why other countries are also reporting as missing "simple database fixes".

Just a couple Aberdeen things. Im pretty sure Fletcher Boyd is missing from the U18s because hes too young. Im not sure if Timothy Akindileni is the same? Gavin Levey has left as head of youth development and moved to Swansea. I attended a couple of the U18 games and Kevin Stewart appears to be the GK coach working with that group

Fletcher Boyd and Akindileni are too young. Gavin Levey hasn’t officially been announced, which is why I haven’t pushed it through just yet.

The U18s GK Coach seems to change all the time, so thank you for pointing that out.

I appreciate that, but the factors they draw on must suggest Matondo is at the top end of SPL players, which he has not demonstrated yet.

Can confirm, he is not near the top end of SPL players. I'm confident there's a lot more factors than ability that goes into the value of the player to the club.

Craig Samson is the GK Coach at Aberdeen. However, first game of season after 23.4, playing as Celtic at home to Aberdeen and Samson is selected by Aberdeen to play Right Back.

I understand he may be registered as a player/coach, but this would be as a GK. His profile shows GK/RB.

EDIT - Ignore, caused by an update file changing him to player/non-player and the database not then populating any position, which left the game to do so of its own accord.

Out of interest, what skin and facepack is this?

    Of course i do,

But do you not want a game as realistic as it can possibly be?

Of course we do, but what you’ve pointed out in terms of our data being wrong because the goal-scorers in the league are the wrong way round, which can’t be made to be the exact same as real life.

Do you think the list of goal-scorers you’ve posted is unrealistic ? Unfortunately we can’t predict the future but the lists you’ve provided, I can’t see anything wrong with the players on there.

You keep saying Kobayashi is a project player but if that's the case so was Jenz, which is why I'm arguing they should be similar in terms of CA.  Yuki came from the same club as Kyogo, he has Asian CL experience and 125 career appearances at J-League or above level at 22,

Jenz at 23 had a grand total of 5 EFL cup appearances, 33 appearances in Switzerland and 18 appearances in France before joining us.

Jenz wasn't a project player, he was a player to come in and play first team football straight away, certainly a loan move viewed as a "try before you buy". He was, after a fantastic season in Switzerland, viewed by a team in a Top 5 league that he was worth a £3.5m transfer.

Kobayashi has 5 games at Asian CL level, that's barely having any "Asian CL experience". He has under 100 appearances at J-League 1 level. As for your comment about how he "came from the same club as Kyogo", what does that have to do with anything?

  8. 1 minute ago, celtic_fc said:

I'm not arguing Kobayashi is better than Jenz, truth is we don't have a clue at this point.  But if they weren't at least similar in terms of ability there is no way we terminate his loan.  In FM Kobayashi is closer to Robbie Deas of Inverness than he is to Jenz, that's quite the difference.

"Truth is we don't have a clue at this point" exactly. Hence why he's came over to us with that CA, it's not an unreasonable CA for what Kobayashi has achieved in his career internationally. He's clearly a project player for Celtic, so he's a decent player but has room for improvement, which is shown by his CA and PA.

Celtic terminated his loan as Jenz wasn't happy with first team football playing time. He's not going to sit on the bench and be happy when the point of his loan was first team football from Lorient. He is being left out by Starfelt and CCV.

  9. 3 minutes ago, celtic_fc said:

Jenz admitted Yuki's signing had an impact on his decision to leave, suggesting Kobayashi had overtook him in the pecking order.

I mean, having 2 permanent players (from a league that the manager is extremely fond of) coming in will impact a loan player's (who already wasn't playing) first team football. It certainly doesn't mean that one player is better than the other, he doesn't come out in the interview and say "Kobayashi was better than me ability wise, so I left Celtic", he says Kobayashi coming in affected the situation and therefore he wanted to leave.

Fact of the matter is Ange isn't signing players such as Jeggo or Halkett as first team players.  Which is what Ange intends Kobayashi and Iwata to be.

We're not terminating the loans off Jenz and Abildgaard if Yuki and Tomoki aren't improvements, it's as simple as that.

Kobayashi is a project player for Celtic, he has 0 caps for Japan and played in a lower half team in Japan, he is 22 and is happy to play fringes at the moment and learn to improve, to then develop into the first team. In regards to the Jenz situation, he wasn't happy that he was not getting any first team football anymore, he moved on loan from Lorient to get first team football. Iwata has a CA that is a first team Celtic player, simple as that.

Both these players have been rated by another researcher outside of Scotland, we haven't rated them as Iwata has 32 minutes of Premiership football and Kobayashi has 90 minutes of Premiership football. We can't just up their ratings because they've signed for Celtic, unless their CA is extremely unreasonable, which they most certainly aren't.

Noticed that the Aberdeen Academy staff looked a bit threadbare :- https://www.afc.co.uk/teams/youth-academy-staff/

Around 95% of that page are staff that coach below u18 level which is the lowest youth level in the game. For instance, click on Stuart Duff and it says "Stuart oversees the U13, U14, U15 & U16 teams. He also coaches the U16s."

This cannot be added into the game as there are no U16 or below teams in the game.

If you can find any evidence that any of the staff on this page is currently working with the U18s and are not in the game, please give me a shout.

I don't know the situation honestly, I see the declared nation was set by English guys who I think know the matter better than me, can you provide any info about his willness to play/not play for England or Scotland?

    https://www.mountroyalsoccer.com/2020/6/29/21307455/trading-tottenham-for-montreal-the-luis-binks-interview

This is all I can find, although can see it was changed in November 2021 by an English researcher. Not really sure what evidence he has towards him declaring to play for England and he would never be swayed towards Scotland.

They don't make it easy to find these things out. I don't know if its as bad with other teams but the website is pretty bad for finding out information

Aberdeen aren’t the worst for finding it out, I done Ross County this year and they’re even worse, especially the u18s !

If you see anything else, just give us a shout :)

I also don't believe Tomas Cerny and George Good are currently working with Aberdeen u18s. They don't appear on the Aberdeen youth academy staff on the website

    https://www.afc.co.uk/teams/youth-academy-staff/

Good spot, I just left the u18s staff as last years as there’s no info on them at all, Cerny has still got his youth academy role on his LinkedIn. That page also is quite vague on “youth academy staff” for instance there’s three “youth academy goalkeeping coaches” but when you click on their profile it says “*name* coaches goalkeeping” with no info at what level, as I said before, i can’t find any info on u18s staff.

Cammy Wilson missing from Aberdeen U18 squad. Signed professional deal earlier in June. Link below.

    https://www.afc.co.uk/2022/06/20/afc-youth-academy-class-of-2022/

Victor Enem, Lewis Pirie and Rodrigo Vitols all been part of Aberdeen U18 playing this season but missing from database. Not old enough for FM? If so what is the allowed age?

They’re all too young for the game, including Cameron Wilson who is born after 1/9/2006.

Only players who are 16 before 1/9/2006 are allowed in the game.
