  1. There are a lot of things that go into a striker's ability to score goals. Finishing is just one of them. Attributes like pace, acc, strength, agility, anticipation, off the ball, first touch etc. are all affects a striker's ability to get into goal positions. Tecnique, composure, decisions, finisihing etc is important to turn the chances into goals.

So a good player with low finisihing can score lots of goals.

  2. Of course, I know that FM uses some form of machine learning. However, until this time, the point where AI has come in FM has not been good enough to compete with us.

Actually I'm talking about a primitive type of machine learning. To increase the difficulty level, a few teams copy tactics and some transfer moves. That's all. Not all teams, of course. If all the teams did this, the game would become unplayable. But it can be fun if 3-4 teams (or difficulty levels can be chosen) do this.

  3. I don't know if this idea has been discussed before. If yes please accept my apologies.

As you know, we play against AI in FM and things can get easy after a while. AI managers can't be competitive enough. But what if we played the game against real opponents, wouldn't it be more fun and challenging? I have an idea of what it could be like. Millions of real players are making individual careers in FM simultaneously. But to make multiplayer online careers, everyone has to take their time and be online at the same time, and it's not easy.

But can't AI imitate other FM players? I think it's not too hard to set. For example, when you start a career with Arsenal, AI can copy the tactics and transfer moves of FM players who have had successful City and Liverpool careers elsewhere in the world. Thus, a kind of offline multiplayer career will be possible.
Some of you may like this idea or some of you may seem ridiculous. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I use High settings with the crowd and shadows turned down. I'll give you exact temps when I'm at my laptop.  Its worth mentioning though that I'm currently playing FM22 which doesn't run natively but I will test FM23 too

Hi again. Have you had a chance to try it?

I'm looking forward to it. Thank you for your interest.

Yeah I've got the base model too.  It does get pretty toasty and stutters after a while if I have it on extended highlights and there's a lot of them.

I tend to use key highlights mostly which helps and I don't run quite as many leagues as yourself.  I would imagine the results of the other leagues is also being calculated in the background whilst you're playing your game which may put extra pressure on.

Like I said I don't see it as a massive problem, mainly due to my expectations from a passively cooled system but I do hope like yourself that they can fine tune it for FM24 and beyond

Could you please monitor temperature during the match and share it? And which graphic settings do you use?

I'm honestly not experiencing this on my M1 Macbook Air but then i'm not monitoring temps exactly.

I'm guessing this is during games?  What level of highlights do you have on and how many active leagues do you have running?

Is anyone else getting the same issues?

About 15 leagues. I'm experiencing that during matches. I even tried 2d matches but nothing changed. There is a thread for FM23 MAC and there is some people getting same issue. It's occuring only on 7 core GPU macbook m1s.

I've never owned a MacBook but that is pretty normal for a laptop. the steam deck for example can go up to 105 Celsius

8 core GPU M1s run at 70-75 celsius with recommended graphic settings (medium-high). But 7 core GPU M1s (same chipset and CPU, same RAM) run nearly 100 celsius with low settings. That's an obvious optimisation issue. We need a fix.

    What warming issue?

I've got an M1 Macbook Air and it does get a bit hot but it's an intense game

It's getting nearly 100 celcius. That's not normal. It's not running that hot even while running more intense apps. I tried to reduce graphic settings. Even tried low graphics but nothing has changed. I think it's because of retina display's 2x resolution.

    Hi everyone.

Have Macbook Pro M1 8GB RAM. Everything goes perfect, except 3D match. Tried different 3D settings but still have lagging during 3D match.

    Any advice?

There is a problem with M1 7 core GPU. It's not solved yet.

As of the patch just released we have native arm64/apple sillicon builds so anyone with a m1/2 mac worth trying again

It’s still running hot. Nearly 100 celsius on 7 Core gpu 16GB RAM M1 Air with recommended graphic settings. I think there is an optimisation problem with 7 Core gpu. Please check and fix this.

There's bugger all difference mate - could you have dust ingress?

Yep it should work fine. My point was that its not the most demanding game.

    I am running Ventura 13.0.1

Maybe Ventura is better than Monterey for FM. I’ll try it.

In this guide it says about refresh rates but doesn’t look like you can alter that on a MacBook Air.

There must be something wrong because even though he’s got a 7 core GPU it shouldn’t run the match engine at 95degrees. Surely it’s not that demanding, not like he’s playing COD on it.

7 Core M1 GPU is not too behind from 8 core. There is about %10 difference between them.
I can play FM with 3D matches on my iPhone. So, M1 shouldn’t be struggle this much.
Btw which version of MacOS are you running?

I can't promise anything, but I'll give it a go.

Thanks. I recieved an answer from Sega today. But that’s not a solution for me. Because i already tried to reduce graphic settings and even tried 2D but still running too hot. There is an optimisation problem I thing. I know FM is a demanding game but I’m saying it’s way too hot even in 2D.

Here is the answer from Sega:

thank you for contacting SEGA Support.

If the game is using to much energy or is running too hot, i would suggest to lower the graphics quality level and/or the system resolution.

In general; Mac computers are capable of running very hot before they suffer damage or shut down (around 110 celsius) so it is fine, but we can understand it running hot and the fans being loud can be a bit disconcerting. If this is the case for you, as said it may be worth making preference changes to allow the game to run less intensely.

    Best Regards,

Hey, this was for a pre-season friendly but highest it got to was 70degrees on high graphics and key highlights.

I have seen Ventura now has an update349000856_Screenshot2022-11-14at22_06_02.png.33d59544ab7110b42a8480f05027b9a2.png

Thank you. My device is the model with 16GB Ram and 7 core GPU. Maybe the problem is 7 core GPU.
