I agree, I think a lot of these jobs are 'jobs for the boys' and along with that these specific jobs do not even need you to do much homework. I think it is really, unforgivably poor from broadcasters. You can entertain and educate people watching football. You can have genuine insight and constructive conversations about football, but broadcasters choose to give Alan Shearer (he is not the only one) money to sit there and know nothing about foreign football. I think, especially, the BBC should have that option. I remember you could. You could have Five Live commentary too?

I cannot understand how or why they are consistently so unprepared and lack really basic knowledge about anything outside of England (I can hazard a pretty good guess). It would be a dream come true to be paid to watch and talk about football.

While I do not mind the idea of having a pundit from each side giving their opinion on the match (as in most pundits talk so much rubbish anyway), but there is no Frenchman in the studio? Did they forget Drogba and Kompany are not French?

I have absolutely no problem adding plenty of time on at the end. You time waste or the game is stopped, add that back on. France look very good, they are such a strong team.

I mean, almost every commentator bemoans the lack of extra time in the face of time wasting and complains that teams 'run the clock down' by time wasting... now FIFA have stamped all over that by adding on plenty of extra time... and they are having a laugh about it. What. Do. They. Want?

I quite like these teams; the match itself has been so-so as both sides are doing fairly well. Commentators have been quite dull. It's the same vomit that they have spewed for several competitions, and it is just boring (and inaccurate, and dull).
