So I just came to Toulouse in 2024 after 3 years in Helmond Sport. The first day on my arrival I get a loan offer for an exciting youngster, I turn it down because I wanna get him into the rotation in the main squad. And of course I cant tell him I want to move him into the squad either, so he just thinks he's gonna get stuck in the U19 and not get loaned out. Apparently the previous manager promised him to get loaned out and now hes totally broken down because I myself (???) broke my promise to him.
How is this even a thing? Ive never talken to the person, so how could his trust in me go to 0 for someone elses promise? Now he wants to leave.Edit: So accorting to the happiness paige, he was promised a loan as a contract renewal, but still. This feels iffy to me. This would never happen IRL, that a player would get pissed off at a new manager for not nowing the situation from previous management.

Can you use the in-game editor to stop things like take overs?
I thought once the game starts you can't edit much......You can edit pretty much everything. In your case, you can transfer the players back to where they came from for the same fee.

Turn on the in-game editor. Problem solved. I always have it turned on in case of game breaking stuff. If you can't handle only using the editor for this stuff, well, don't use it for stuff you will regret afterwards.

Depends on team and funds, but mostly I sell before I buy (not counting youngsters for U18). I transferlist all players I wanna get rid of at the end of the season, when they are gone I go out buying players I want.

Remember, much of this is not down to the game itself but the scouts that determine the skills of the players. I think Wolves, United and Arsenal are quite overrated in this game, I mean, IRL they are rubbish compared to Liverpool and City. Especially Arsenal seems to win many times on my game.

I used to rely heavily on downloaded tactics like 6-7 years ago... but as I grew older I just started to enjoy the tactics more and now I never download tactics. I might re-use a tactic from a save to another that has been succesful that I created myself, but mainly I try to create a new tactic every new team I play.
For example, I had a very succesful 4-3-3 on FM19 that won me quite a few trophies with inferior teams, and I tried it out on the beta on FM20 just to se how it worked, and after winning the league the first year with both Atalanta and Arsenal, I just scrapped it.

Agreed playing time issue
in Football Manager General Discussion
Posted
Its not that big of a deel, but I just found a ridiculous bug that surely went over the developers head.
So Alfred Gomis is my backup goalkeeper with the agreed playing time of "Backup".
Last pre season my first choice got injured so Gomis has started 14 out of 16 matches (!!)
Now he came to me complaining about playing time and he me to fulfill his agreed playing time for him to get into Senegal.
Im like.... WTF YOUVE STARTED 14 GAMES IN A ROW!!!
Then I checked his happiness, and allthough he started 14 games out of 16 his "actual playing time" is listed as emergency backup, while his agreed playing time is set as backup. This making Alfred Gomis think he's never playing even though he's starting every game.
This is kind of a silly but major bug IMO. Fix it.
