Football Manager Mobile™ 2019's interface is designed to be intuitive to the user to ensure that playing the game and using the abundance of features is made as easy as possible. The following is a short glossary to help explain some of the terms used in this manual.
Action Bar
The Action bar is displayed at the bottom of every screen. The Action Bar contains Action buttons that operate main functions for the item/s on the page and either complete or revert an action on them.
On some pages, the Action Bar also contains the option to switch between different views of the item or group of items in question.
Bookmarks Menu
The Bookmarks Menu provides you with a list of screens for a game object which you can interact with and derive information from. It can be accessed from the Menu-styled button on the right-hand side of the Title Bar. In most cases, it is possible to swipe between the items listed on the bookmarks menu as indicated by the Swipe Dots displayed on the titlebar. You can configure this menu to animate (slide out) in Preferences.
Game Object
A game object roughly corresponds to an item in the game database; a person or team, for example. As a rule, each screen is intended to display information about a single game object (although the information may include lists of other game objects that are related to the main one).
Screen
A screen displays some information in the game. Normally the screen represents a single game object, for example a player or a team.
Each screen has a title and one or more sections. The title will generally stay the same regardless of which section is being displayed. A screen can also have a subtitle, although often the current section determines this so it changes when the user chooses a different section.
Example: An example of a screen in Football Manager Mobile™ 2019 would be the Person screen. This has several sections including Attributes, Contract and History.
Screen Area
The Screen Area is the part of the game's display that changes for each screen. It contains information related to the current screen.
Side Menu
The Side Menu is present on selected devices and allows the user to access specific screens quickly and easily from anywhere in the game without having to first return to the Home screen. It also contains quick links to both the Home and the News screens. You can configure this menu to animate (slide out) in Preferences.
Title Bar
The title features text indicating the purpose of the screen. The title will generally be displayed in a large font in a prominent place.
The Title Bar also contains the Bookmarks Menu button when applicable - see the separate section relating to this.
To the right of the Title Bar lies the Continue/Confirm button, which is used to progress through the game. Next to this is the current in-game date.
The Back button is found on the left-hand end of the Title Bar. This returns the user to the screen which they previously visited.
The Home screen allows the user to navigate to any area of the game relating directly to their job as manager and can always be accessed from the bottom left of any screen.
The Home Screen
Your first port of call can always be the Home screen. From here you can navigate to any area of Football Manager Mobile™ 2019; simply select the Home icon found in the bottom left corner of the screen to bring it up, or from the side menu on selected devices.
The screen is divided into a series of panels. You can navigate to all things to do with the club you are managing, to your managerial hub or to the wider footballing world and its competitions. You can run a search for a player or a club, or configure your game options.
You can always access your Inbox from the uppermost panel spanning the width of the pop-up overlay, or on the side menu on select devices . If there are unread items, it will inform you of how many there are, otherwise it will read 'No New Messages'.
The 'Continue' button can always be found in the top right corner, next to the current date. Select it to advance the saved game.
On select devices, the Home screen contains some more detailed panels that show useful information related to your club at the current point in the game. Navigation is undertaken via the Side Menu bar - please see the Interface section of the manual for further details.
The News Screen
The News screen is of similar, if not greater importance to you than the Home screen. Here, you will receive numerous messages keeping you informed of what's going on around the football world on a daily basis, as well as bringing forward important team matters that will require your attention.
From the Home screen, select the uppermost panel to access the News screen. Upon arrival, you will be shown the oldest unread news item. Press 'First Item' to cycle through more recent items and 'Last Item' to go back. Some items will allow an optional response, while others will require a compulsory one. When this is the case, a button will appear to the side of the news item allowing you to respond. Most news items will also provide an Action Menu from which you'll be able to access pages relevant to the content; such as players, teams and competitions.
On iPad, you will be able to see a list of news items on the left-hand side of the screen. You can use the 'Next Unread Item' button and/or scroll through the list to view all items.
From time to time you will be given the option to post certain news items to Twitter (iOS 6+). Make sure you are logged in to your account and then select the option at the side of the news item.
Note: The hashtag #FMM19 will be included in any news items you post from the game onto social media.
