Description of issue

We were playing an online career and the other player got sacked. Now we wanted to continue like in old fm´s and just create a new manager and let him join his old club.

The option to choose a club was blacked out (Screenshot "1") and in the online settings (Screenshot "2") I can´t find anything to solve this problem
