When negotiating a contract after the player's / agent's demands have decreased (like after the player has been a free agent for some time), the decreased demands only reflect in their initial contract proposal and reset after negotiating.
This player has been a free agent for a month, with the agent wanting 12.75K p/w to 15.5K p/w a month ago.
After approaching to sign the player and accepting everything on the proposals page without changes, this is the initial contract proposal by the agent, at 8K p/w. This matches with the agent also saying that his client is willing to consider a lower wage than previously discussed (top left). This proposal could be accepted by clicking "Finalise Deal" here.
But by changing the proposal, in this case by decreasing the wage to 6K p/w, and proposing the changed deal, the demands seem to reset to what they were without the decrease. I also tried offering 8.25K p/w, so more than the initial demand, but the outcome was the same.
The agent now demands 13.75K p/w, which is more in line with the demands from a month prior.
Even offering the initial 8K p/w now with increased bonuses will be rejected.
