  • Sweeper keeper charges out of area but then runs away from ball

    Description of issue

    Another example of what seems to be a frequently-reported issue with sweeper keepers, but I thought I'd put it in anyway.

    At 48:01, Celta's keeper Rubén Blanco launches a long ball deep into the Betis half. My Betis keeper Carnesecchi charges out of his area to get to the ball ahead of the Celta attacker Marcos André. But just as the ball comes to him, Carnesecchi turns away and heads back to his area, leaving the attacker with a simple finish.

     

    Carnesecchi is a Sweeper Keeper on a Defend duty, with an instruction to Take Fewer Risks.

    I've already reported several major issues with this match engine, and this was the straw that broke this camel's back. I have now stopped playing FM23 until there is a major ME update, which I hope will be coming soon.

    We've made some changes in previous updates which we hope will have made this aspect of the ME better. Do let us know if you continue to encounter it.
