  • despite contract extension clause, player arranges transfer to other club

    i have a player that has clause in his contract 'one year extension after league games (avoid relegation final season) 5 ' ....

    so the player basicly need to play in at leat 5 games in his last year of contact while i avoid relegation ....

    all that is achieved, and yet he managed to negotiate transfer in january transfer window. I hoped that once i avoid relegation that i'll get the message that his tranfser is cancelled, but nothing is happening.

    season is not finished yet, i reckon there is slight possibility that he is staying but that seems a bit odd.

    If a player can be approached before a contract clause is triggered and they agree a new deal that would invalidate the triggering of the clause. It's unfortunate to lose the player in this situation, but it is correct.
