Bealesy
I think it's partly my team too, Ipswich 2009 aren't the strongest and the 4-1-2-3 formation is much stronger for less able teams, especially defensively, I might give the Gav1979 tactic a try with my 2014 save game thoughas my Ipswich team are very strong but I'll have to wait till the end of the season as I've got no wingers. Ipswichjon this is my Ipswich team 5 games into the season: GK:Murphy as Fulop is injured RB:Peters/Ricketts LB:Civelli/Kennedy also got J Lloyd Samuel on loan CB:Smith/McAuley CB:Muniesa/Spence DM:Healy/Koke CM:Norris/Leadbitter AMR:Edwards/Garcia AML:Townsend/McDermott SC:Santo/Stead SC:Priskin/Iversen I'm 5 games into the season and I know its early days but I'm unbeaten Swansea(H) 6-5, Torquay (H) 5-0, Millwall(A) 1-2, Coventry(H) 2-1 and Barnsley(A) 1-2 and apart from the Barnsley game none of the opposition have had more than 1 CCC. I will let you know how my season progresses.
Hollender
Hi guys, I have one question for you about Mr Hough tactics. Anyone who has experience with them: do you have any preferred moves that work well? Wich ones should I try to make the players do?Cheers and thank you for reading. I like "Get forward" for my midfielders.

I will let you know how my season progresses. I've decided to give it another go with wingers but I'm tweaking it so there's now two central midfielders (same settings for both) and one striker (iversen/John Sutton) and I've adjusted the wingers to have a touch more creative freedom, dropped the defensive line back 3 notches, lowered the defenders mentality and closing down to 3 notches from the lowest and I'm looking much tighter at the back. Preseason results have been very promising, I'll update after the season proper begins...

Sparta
I had some success with a similar formation to the one you posted here Hough, but there was no DM, instead there was one box to box MC and one attacking MC, the formation was very rigid and very attacking. Both AML and AMR were inside forwards usually or one was inside forward and one was winger. Scored alot of goals but because of the two MC's being semi and all-attack minded it was not as stable in the back, same problem as this one:-) Maybe if you had one DM and one ML and just one AMR? Goose54
I'm Really enjoying the winger tactic, and i think whatever people claim, that you should stick with 2 attackers, i think losing one takes the punch away. I'm also conceding but i think it can be tweaked/bought into a minor issue, aslong the goals are coming im damn happy! - and im BOLTON first season with 5 games left, im at 5th place with only 4points to #1 RAWR! Love your tactic Mr. Hough, looking forward for the wizard one!
Mr Hough
what i have been playing around with is Tempo, Now i feel tempo controls the game with passing movement that kind of thing, Now if you have a midfield with just 2 players in it the tempo quite high i think so you can whip the ball on to the attack and especially in this case down the wings. I have always used a slow tempo but i changed it in a recent game and i really should of won the game i don't know why but my team seemed to have umph! about them. But in my previous tactics i could use a slower tempo because there was more midfielders and also it was good for the attack too so getting the balance between slow and quick will be the next challenge

Mr Hough
Mr HoughWho are you testing with? And how has your season been? Steve I'm testing with spurs I'm doing well at the minute not conceding at all. I have made a little breakthrough, Think about this. I have the base of the tactic on balanced mainly and i am doing well against most teams only the top teams seem to have chances so I'll score a goal if i score first and change the Philosophy to Very Rigid this stops the opposition from getting near my goal because my players stay in position and block most shots, against crap teams though i will leave it on balanced and i will beat them easily but if you wanna keep a clean sheet just change the philosophy and there you go. I have tried it for a few games now and it's working good still needs abit more testing though but good at the moment. I'll post some screens after i've played 10 games

Mr Hough
Nice job Mr Hough! How you getting on in the league so far? Steve I'm kicking arse, scoring goals and NOT conceding, Seriously if you could see me i'm beaming from ear to ear. Because i'm playing Very Rigid the Opposition struggle to get chances on target yet because i know how to set up the midfield and attack i have been banging them in 6-2 at bolton i had the Philosphy on Balanced all game i should have changed it after we scored a few goals and now 4-0 at home to Fulham with the Philosphy on Very Rigid all game, So there is scope for defence and attack. I'm gonna have some fun testing this :-)

old gregg
Mr H you may have something with this rigid philosophy. Ive just changed your Mr Hough/GCS Final tactic to very rigid and standard starting strategy and beat spurs 8-1. Created 7 CCC to their 0. I look forward to your updated 4-1-1-2-

Mr Hough
lol, then Very Rigid is key You would be incredibly surprised seriously, Think about it your team is very rigid but yet still attaking so the (most importantly) defence stays in its positions, Remember how i used to have problems with the fullbacks? Well no more becuase they are always in position perfectly i've gonna upload some screens soon, Be prepared to be amazed!

Zeffke888
Mr. Hough, I'm using your 4-1-1-2-2 tactic at the moment, with the problem of conceding a lot, so I wanted to change it to very rigid, but is there a way to convert the classic tactic to a wizard tactic?? Thanks again... :-) There is but it takes time, screenshot each position and team settings and then apply them manually to a wizard tactic, setting the sliders on the wizard tactic to the same as they were on the classic one. Not 100% but close enough. P.S Trying out Rigid version of the Hough/JP 4123 now, exited to see if it can actually improve it!
Mr Hough
Obviously there is more to the tactic rather than just setting the Philosophy to very rigid but setting it this way creates a fantastic defensive base for your side all you need to do then is add the attacking elements. I know this might sound big headed but i think I've hit Genius status now :-)
