billyboyeden
Hi all, Apologies if this has been asked before but I had a quick search & couldnt find anything. I have a main game my pc with all major europe leagues but I also have loaded fm11 on a rickety old laptop i acquired. Its not very quick so I was wondering what are the leagues with the smallest amount of teams/games? Don't mind where it is in the world because I am looking for something very different to my main save. Thanks in advance
dafuge
I doubt it is the shortest, but Germany has a fairly short season. There's 34 league games, just the one cup and no super cup. Pretty handy for a big league if you are in Europe.
GylfiAsCharged
I downloaded an add-on with Welsh leagues down to level five, and made a career thread on it - one year there were only 6 games in the season. But leagues like the Swedish ones only play 30 a season (I think?).
billyboyeden
Thanks for the info dafuge, definitley a contender. I have never managed in Germany before. keep em coming :-)
GylfiAsCharged
The Swedish leagues are actually pretty fun, I had some time with Orgryte from the second tier and got them to the Premier Division. The leagues are pretty close too. I'd recommend them.
delboy69
Playing in Hungary at the moment and it's a 30 game season but two cups which add onto the season games, league cup has a three team play each other home and away group stage, if you win that you're in the quarter final and it's 2 legged including the final. If your in the top division you enter the Hungarian Cup at the third round which is one leg along with fourth and fifth rounds then quarters and semis are 2 legs before a 1 leg final. Still makes for a pretty short season and I reached the final of both cups. Portugal is only 30 league games a season as I recall but again with 2 cup competitions. I always hear good things about that league
robertcornell68
Bulgaria is 30 games & 1 cup. 33 in the lower division. (iirc)
Nottingham Forest
I think Malaysia don't play many. Could be wrong. Holland play 34 in the league, I think.
Thebaker
Iceland don't play many games, the league only has 12 teams, not sure about the cups.
billyboyeden
A tough call between Malaysia, Iceland and Sweden I think. Never really done any long term saves in either of those leagues so should be interesting. I'm veering towards Sweden as it seems very popular unless anyone wants to suggest another? delboy69
I had a few seasons in Sweden on FM10 and quite enjoyed it, Norway wasn't bad either and pretty sure there isn't too many league games there either.
billyboyeden
I'm starting to debate wether my laptop can run scandinavia now ! haha
Lower Leagues Rule
Australia only has 33 games + a playoff series, and no cup competitions, so all up the most games you would play is 37. Portugal in the League has 30 at all levels (16 team leagues), but also has two cups in the top leagues.
Sea the Stars
I doubt it is the shortest, but Germany has a fairly short season. There's 34 league games, just the one cup and no super cup. Pretty handy for a big league if you are in Europe. they do have German Super Cup, it has been reinstated this year.
dafuge
they do have German Super Cup, it has been reinstated this year. It's definitely not there in my game. Could it have been added back in with one of the patches? (I'm still playing my 11.1 save)
Stampler
it has been added with the 11.3 patch
just_smoke_it
go with the portuguese league dude!!
ReggaeBwoy
The shortest is the Ukranian league definitely because there are about 15-16 teams and the season ends April or May. The season could infact finish even earlier, it is only prolonged because of the three month winter break, that is something very different, you'll have to create a few friendlies to make sure your players are match fit
